  1. Neat, they even retained my "2010 Player's Choice Best Original Group" forum tag!
  2. I do make a point to comment on anything I see that I like, which is often on clever names if nothing else. And hey, if you want people to read your bios, here's a good place to start with them:
  3. Did a random Talos PUG tonight doing just any ol' missions - radios I suspect. My 50 Dom had to run at their level without all her bells and whistles (perma-dom, my bespoke amped up damage slotting, fuin things like Venge, etc.), but still ended up tanking for the group (stalker, MM, and everyone else support squishies) by starting off with spawn-wide mezzes and then jumping in to drop my one AoE available at that level, then alt-tabbing through the foes to single target mezz them until there were no more foes. Good PUGs aren't as interesting to talk about ha ha! But yes, they are out there, often.
  4. I take pride in anything I write. I don't have to be so miserly with my words, I put them wherever I can and enjoy it, nothing wrong with that, you do you.
  5. I don't see us complaining here so much as just having a chuckle over how badly things can go sometimes. I do 100% PUGs, and I'm not about to stop, fool that I am. 😃
  6. It's been noted that if you say give a foe some mix of ranged and melee, then set them for "melee only" or vice versa, they won't use the other too often; this can be useful to get their experience given to that 100% - always a concern yeah, I'd never give players foes to defeat that only pass out say 50%! I believe I saw this work with mezzes as well: a mezz or two would get used, but not like every attack. I never used this to try and rig the game like a fire farm or anything though, but I imagine some have.
  7. Because you always write for yourself. I still do it most of the time, and I have fun doing it - therefore, worth doing.
  8. Did a redside Lord Recluse... whatever it's called (the one with Atlas in ruins and go fight all the good guys, whilst in the cut scene Manti is apparently starting to lose it and constantly firing arrows and telling everyone they can't give up) that started pretty rough. After me and another telling the leader we weren't all that familiar with it (I think this was third run ever?), they just said "first flyers then towers," which uh... Fortunately, apparently some of the others were familiar enough and had TP, ha ha. Some deaths fighting that giant robot outside the one map, then we rushed that one (other?) map and hit the door that won't let you past till you have a key, so they rushed back alone to wherever to get it and died, etc. whilst we stood around boomboxing. They kept mentioning how bad their End was and they couldn't wait to slot the Incand to take care of that, and all their tanks had bad End problems (I didn't say anything). Overall we got it pulled off, but not really because we deserved to. I love it when that happens!
  9. Remember the price of purples on Live though? Remember how much the Miracle unique was? You really had to work at getting your hands on those on Live. Now those, and more, are de rigueur for so many posted builds. I'll agree that knowing everything about the game does help, and that it was never super hard (I usually played with only half-slotted toons because I was a filthy casual poor, but still did just fine), but this is definitely a change from Live and I do think has trivialized things even more.
  10. Visit the sub forums for the AT you're playing, look around for builds matching the power sets you've chosen. Sometimes you may still not find one, but you might find one with one of those power sets, which should give you some idea. Also, our lovely and talented wiki has a lot of good info, such as this: https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Dominator_Strategy
  11. I have more than once been driven mad by forgetting that exists. XE
  12. Presumably we do things for fun too, or just because we can. Not everything has to boil down to
  13. Red marked the cliches, some of them nonsensical (you may find more); had to quit there lest I waste more time on this. Please see me after class.
  14. Again, isn't this game easy enough already? We can all, easily, quickly rig the game in our favor and sleepwalk our way to vast amounts of in-game wealth as it is. Just make a choice and don't click that one thing or another this very second.
  15. Look, I'm all for playing the game the way it was meant to be played, maybe even more than most, but let's not go crazy here! Meanwhile, every Posi 1 I play on works like that...
  16. The way I play a Dom is really dependent on the circumstances of the team and who we're facing. I see them as a Swiss army knife of a an AT. Squishier ones or low level ones tend to stand in back and mez everyone repeatedly to help keep the damage dealers safe; toss in a ranged attack or two. More protected ones and higher level ones (as that's usually the same thing) tend to open with a crowd-wide mez and then rush into melee, esp. if they have any PBAoE like Atom Smasher. And then, while in melee, what else needs tending to?: more mezzing, another melee blow, or a ranged attack for that runner? Melee toons just hit, maybe pop a heal or something, then hit again. I think I abandon melee toons before 50 due to disinterest the most, unless I've given them a bit of extra via power pools or whatever.
  17. Seconded. Just the last couple of days I've gotten trapped behind a Dark Servant and something else (can't recall what, a Dark Pup maybe?), and thought about that QoL change for MM pets...
  18. I like pretty much everything here, but also note that I usually tend to aim for easy-as-possible designs. I want everything to go smoothly as can be and not chase anyone out of the story, which is my main focus. I'm told I've failed that before though ha ha (see mission currently in sig).
  19. I recall advice form Live (I think?) to be careful with armors as they can become beasts way too easily, something like that. The advice was to basically not give them hardly any, which is what I usually go for. I found this useful: https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Mission_Architect_Custom_Units
  20. What tech guide, where tech guide??? 😃
  21. I came from... a much different place before I played the game, so the first time I heard about a twinked-out build I was rather uh confused yes. I wouldn't say it's a slur or anything though, in that other context, not that I've ever heard of. Now, let me rant about gamers' profound misuse of the word "meta"...
  22. You're hired! I expect these scripts on my desk Monday morning.
  23. This game is already easy enough, this would just encourage more AFK farming.
  24. Stalkers, because it's also so much fun to walk around and just look at stuff without worrying about being seen (most of the time, there's a very few that do see thru their stealth). Tanks are just indestructible very easily. Sentinels are also solid, my one that I've made (so far?) was practically a tank himself. Just be sure to dress your new toon like Ned Flanders...
  25. Some kind of slow and self-important "prestige" costume drama, a terrible rom-com... yeah, those would be fun roles for heroes to take! 😃
