  1. I recently dealt with this and someone else posted about trying to set it up too, in the AE forums so: how about a new mission objective called something like FIND A BODY. That's a bit dark so we might come up with a better name for it. Think like Blue Spectrum from the Galaxy City tutorial. It lets you designate any naturally occurring NPC to be found laying prone on the floor, unmoving. You can set it's info the usual way, allow it to speak if you want ("Water.... so thirsty...") and it won't pop back up or try to follow you later. Hopefully. AE is pretty janky!
  2. Nothing but good. I only had to queue once and I don't care about it one jot. I'm a PUGer by nature so this is nothing but good news for me.
  3. Different strokes and all that. I'm not a fan either though, it wouldn't "feel right." 😃
  4. I often do short spurts of speed, then look back to see if the fool is still following. I've often I think seen them run to catch up with me when I'm stretching that rubber band, but then walk once they get closer. Notice I didn't say "when they catch up to me," they seem to start walking fairly fair away.
  5. They've been saying they're working on it for a looooong time now though IIRC. They didn't start last week!
  6. Being name-checked, I have to list something in here, but I keep forgetting to! Rather than repost the whole deal, here's a link to the thread for it:
  7. I don't care too much, but considering how rarely we get them, seems they should go back to "issues" yeah. (To be clear, I prefer pages, as little dribs and drabs I feel would be etter to keep people around than "wait 6 months, here's a big one, pop goes up, then drains away starting two months later).
  8. Sayyyy, they were supposed to be working on Kallisti Wharf, where'd that go? I'd have thought that'd be done by now.
  9. Still not as bad a room full of Paragon Protectors that no one's mezzed or killed quickly enough.
  10. I prefer to TP into someone's face, but being able to occasionally choose where I TP to (like when I want to go outside Pocket D heh) has its place. If you've never used a macro/bind for TP attack powers, OMG, it is so, so worth it. I have a Sav/Shield stalker who also took Spring Attack and Combat TP (or whatever that's called) and he'd not be half as fun without them Night and day, for me.
  11. Not throwing stones at you, just those types. Hence the 😃
  12. I PUG nearly all the time, because it feels too slow soloing. I like the chaos of a team. So it really falls to a matter of what I can find. I tend to avoid TFs when I can because I'm bored of them and don't feel the need to chase accolades for measly returns. Generally do not farm, not in any manner, or certainly not "I just picked up 35 levels" kind of farming - I';m not here to be bored.
  13. Speed isn't like some law of physics that everyone must obey, it's still a choice, as the bolded part of your quote attests. 😃 These are just greedy, weirdly-focused players, imho. They turn a game into a job.
  14. That is interesting. I've been thinking we (meaning anyone but me ha ha) really needs to compile a whole complete list of all the weird ins and out of the AE system like this as we stumble across them.
  15. I do sometimes, but I do generally prefer to be able to hear it at least a little, to help find glowies etc.
  16. Aw, that's too bad, but understandable; in a lot of ways I feel I've done just about everything too by this point.
  17. Some of the war maces are too small aren't they? Like, there's Mace Mastery animations that are definite two-handers that wouldn't line up with a pipe wrench, say, IIRC.
  18. Ya gonna listen to this guy tell us about mirrors???
  19. I love that people will do this for newbies, but I fear they take the wrong idea from such, "I need money to play the game!" But a wise player would infer that "money is so easy to come by in this game that some people burn it for fun, so it can't be all that important to play."
  20. "Redside... Best side? Right??" Yes. End of thread. Seriously though, it always was for me. I could list why, but that's neither here nor there for this discussion. I can understand that some just feel some reversion to playing bad guys (funny, in an age when Grand Theft Auto can make billions, but of course that group of players doesn't necessarily overlap with ours), but I think ultimately that population is king. That's why even I'm mostly blueside today, and have been since the Live pop drop and Incarnate grinding leeched most people away from anything lower level. I like PUGing and find it especially needed as a low level toon. What to do? I don't want to make red side Farmville, so I don't know if "bribe the players with more XP" or something would help. The Aeon task force is popular as all get out, but with people from blue side who switch to play then switch right back I'm sure; maybe gate that so you can't do it until after you've been red side for like 48 hours? Maybe gate Null him or herself? Aeon's still just farming anyway, essentially (thanks to speed runs etc.). I doubt that would really work... I guess don't have any really good ideas.
  21. Trust me though, all this is great stuff anyway! Just a wistful aside.... the one thing I really would have liked seeing was lots of AE love. I mean, something is still something, but I still feel it's an underdeveloped and utilized aspect of the game.
  22. Trying to live by my credo of no farming these days and really meaning it, so the last few new toons have just gone around doing an occasional low level arc, a DFB or three (tops), while trying to avoid Council farming on PI "any level accepted" because that did feel too lazy. Not that I haven't done them once or twice, but definitely less. Now that the population is up, it's common enough to see someone advertise for a team that's at least nearish my level (I'll go below too), so I do those.
  23. Standing in line to log in? Completely worth it.
  24. Depending on what kind of "previewing" you're going for, I would recommend reading up on the power set(s) on these forums. You'll find out if people think one looks dumb, or is too slow, or is super fun and flashy, etc. Of course that might not apply 100% for you, everyone has an opinion, but it's not a bad start.
