the “Buy It Nao™” price has always been higher than the average long-bid price ever since the AH was released on an alt i made bids a few months ago for around 500 rare IO recipes in total. every single one purchased now sells for either half the amount i bought it for, or the same amount along with salvage prices going down, things on the AH appear to be getting cheaper across the board

i’ve been playing this as a stalker - it’s a great combo with the addition of AS. if you’re not too fussed about ultimate survivability i’d highly recommend it also consider ice melee/shield for the scrapper, it doesn’t have a strong ‘whacking’ feel (oioi) but is quite effective

powerboosted transference is surprisingly just “okay” from my experience. lightning ball/short circuit are good end drainers though on the test server i’ve found an elec dom to be a better end drainer. my experience of trying to find the ultimate end-drainer is that clicky powers make it a constant grind of trying to keep that end bar low. always on PBAOE powers help so much

interestingly worded as always, though i do actually agree in my view CoH the game ends in the late 20’s. in the lower levels powers matter, ATs have some definition and teamwork is often required to complete missions and TFs after that it breaks off into 20 levels of button mashing where success is guaranteed, just get 8 people to mash those buttons i have two 50’s which i have played a crazy amount over the last three years on high level content which has been really fun, but nothing beats that old school CoH feel -
i’d be interested in an early issue shard, e.g one that’s held at issue 3. i imagine it would be a lot of work to roll back so many changes though

i main a mind/fire/ice dom since 2019 and have played it as pretty much my only alt in that time i’m surprised you were frustrated with a grav/fire, fire assault is incredibly damaging, easy to fire off and delivered all at range if you were to make another dom i’d recommend mind/fire, mind/energy or replace mind with plant. mind/fire is near enough the most potent dom combo, on the same level as plant/energy for lockdown ability and incredible ST damage ice mastery is nearly the only sensible choice for dominators, with soul also a great and equally good choice for those who want extra damage. the others aren’t worth choosing

if you get a single rare salvage drop that’s an instant 500k. run a few TFs and use your merits to buy a miracle or LOTG and sell it for 5M+ plenty of inf available

i would have waited to see what things were like in the mission after before making a decision. synapse is long enough, added difficulty with a team that isn’t steamrolling the mobs is a recipe for a 2 hour+ TF

i must also challenge your memory 🙂 in Bloody Bay you could pickup radio style missions - do a patrol, diffuse a bomb mish or a rescue captive mish. the missions would change some sort of red/blue reputation of the zone depending on how many you complete i used to level several alts solo through such missions and have very fond memories of doing so warburg had the rocket launch too which required a fair amount of running through the zone

aw man, preach! people who die with a tray full of isnps gave themselves an unnecessary death, crunch those skittles -
mate, run a TF sub lvl 30 on standard difficulty with enemies buffed - it largely prevents people running off and soloing the world as they get squished. i find its effective in encouraging team play if that’s what you’re after or you can highlight that it’s a kill most, helps people know what kind of run it is

that’s a great perspective - if i’m creating a defender i’m doing so for the primary and will focus 70%+ of my efforts on delivering the primary to the team or enemy if i was to make a corrupter it would be a focus on damaging, then dishing out the buffs/debuffs even if the numbers are quite similar the two ATs put you in a different state of mind

that’s a really clear desktop review thanks looks like things are quite close. i have some time later this evening and will make both on test and see how they compare for damage per activation, e.g hitting something in a mission and the more complex situation of taking down something with larger health like an AV if corrupters come out significantly ahead i think it’ll sway me away from defenders for offensive buffers/debuffers. will do my best to be unbiased when testing

are you able to link me any comparisons? am curious, i might have to build two on test later today if there’s not already a thread with defs getting a +30% damage buff when solo and (for the sets that have them) stronger -res debuffs, i wouldn’t be surprised if for most solo encounters the damage out of a corrupter is actually less than a defender until scourge kicks in i may be missing something though, has been a long time since i was a corr player sorry if i’m hijacking your thread @Snarky, has been something i’ve wondered for a while!

if buffs or debuffs are on offer i like to play the Full Fat version of it and then choose a blast set for its secondary effects; end drain, -acc etc i used to have a fire/fire corrupter back on live and played it solely redside, it was a good alt, definitely more offensive than a def

in my opinion i can’t see any reason to play a corrupter over a defender - stronger buffs/debuffs and damage mostly the same with the power level access changes, defenders become an even better choice. scourge feels a bit worthless given enemies are almost dead anyway
