  1. We used to have to waste 3 powers to get Acrobatics too. Now IOs do what wasting 3 power choices does. You're also assuming everyone builds the way you do. I can assure you, they don't.
  2. Sadly no, there are no "starting" templates to work with. Take a look at the video guides @Dacyposted here. You'll pick up some excellent tips on how to build above the base.
  3. That's.... not what I said - at all. Not even close. You keep going on and on with the old "power creep" and "power tax" response as if it is gospel and will somehow destroy the game. It's more than abundantly clear power creep is not a problem. No question IO sets and Incarnates are power creep and both were fantastic additions to the game and made the game better. There is no "power tax" if IO set bonuses can grant the same (or better) than what a pool selection will or an Incarnate selection negates the need to slot for end reduction.
  4. And IOs can render certain power pool selections redundant and/or meaningless, not to mention Incarnates. So long as there is content that is designed for it, "power creep" is not a bad thing - it's what sells.
  5. You're very welcome! Glad you enjoy it. 😁
  6. Every now and again on Torchbearer there are a couple of people who get into protracted discussion, which usually ends on its own after a couple of minutes. If there are people being blatantly obnoxious, I put them on ignore and move on.
  7. With the proposed changes you can still make these same choices.
  8. This is a perfect example of why the suggestion is a terrible idea. A means to view slotting/build of other players isn't needed and should never be implemented.
  9. As I recall, workshop items that have something in them cannot be deleted. Perhaps these got moved inside a wall or under the base? Have you tried locating them by going into the room while in edit mode and looking for them on the current room tab?
  10. If by "we need" you mean "you need" then yes, I would agree with you.
  11. Fun theme! 😁 I actually have a base kind of like this theme started... just never finished it. If you don't want to go for building a whole pirate ship, you might want to consider something different but still within the pirate theme. Not sure if you follow the Curse of Oak Island on History channel (if not, check it out!) - you might enjoy building your own version of a "pirate treasure island". Excellent theme to use a combo above and below base for building... build your island on top of the base surrounded by water and have various treasure pits that are entrance ways into underground treasure vaults. Build out a couple of slipways coming to the island using the dock pieces and sailing ship available in the editor.
  12. More HP doesn't make debuff/buff/control any more worthwhile from my view. For example, instead of defeating a boss in 3 hits it takes 5 due to higher HP just means it will take me little longer to finish a mission solo. I still won't find buff/debuff/control worthwhile - just a nice to have, same as any other AT.
  13. Yes, I know that. That's why I was confirming what was said previously in the thread.
  14. Not sure that solves anything other than turning the game into boring slog of punching bags of HP until they die.
  15. Very nice! Going to check this out tonight. :)
  16. I never made any claims about kick at all. What I suggested was sticking to the "can't have (perceived) power creep because of balance maths" doesn't necessarily work either. The game can indeed get "straight up upgrades with no accompanying downsides" and be better for it. IOs and Incarnates are evidence of that.
  17. If this were true, there would never have been IOs or Incarnates - both of which made the game better. Stagnation is just as bad - if not more so - than perceived power creep.
  18. I would disagree that making the fitness pool inherent was a mistake. Power creep is also not necessarily not an issue when you have content being designed specifically for it. Problem here is that there is very little content made for fully pimped out incarnates.
  19. I had the same issue on my older laptop. Running the free upgrade to Windows 10 (which still works) fixed this for me.
  20. The Echo locations should be accessible from the Arcane portal by the transporters. I'll double check that Echo GC is there tonight.
  21. As you said, it's dependent upon the implementation and the individual. As in the example I gave earlier, in STO opening boxes is how one collects lobi crystals. Anything else is a nice bonus. I know a great many fleetmates there who open boxes just to collect Lobi to buy things from the Lobi store. "Gambling" for a rare item isn't part of the equation for them. Of course there are those who blow lots of money trying to gamble for the rare item, but they are victims of their own making. Had they done their research, they would have found it is infinitely cheaper to buy keys and sell them on the exchange, then buy the rare item they wanted. The way EA tried to implement lootboxes is much, much different and should never be allowed IMO.
  22. To be honest, I'm not sure you even understand what it is you are trying to say. Absolutely cell phones are designed to take advantage of the user to get them addicted. This should not come as a surprise to anyone. Just do some very simple Google searching and you'll quickly find a wealth of information about how cell phone makers, social media and app makers hire "attention engineers" who use methods right out of Las Vegas casinos to make their products as addictive as possible. In the example I provided, every lootbox in STO has a reward of value. It may or may not be the one you wanted, but you did get something of value.
