Make enemies brave, less runners please!
ShardWarrior replied to Warlawk's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Maybe Warhawk's costume is scarier than yours? 🤣 -
Beautiful work! I would love to get a 3D print of my main. STO offers this as a service where you can get a 3D print of your ship - would be sweet if we could ever get that here.

She doesn't work there anymore though...

What are some good choices for Canon based AE Missions?
ShardWarrior replied to justicebeliever's topic in Mission Architect
I have something like this in the works myself - it's more a personal story for my own characters so not "overall CoH canon" per se, but it will cover what happened to the CoH world during the hiatus. If you do write yours, please do share. I would love to try it out. 😀 -
Community Challenge: Complete Day Job Collection

^ Thread winner! 🤣 -
Saying that only one combo makes Empathy viable/useful at higher levels is not much of an argument to say it is useful lol.

Official 'enterbasefrompasscode' Resolution thread
ShardWarrior replied to Cinderwalker's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
@Bentley BerkeleyI don't particularly like or care much about PvP either, however I don't believe preserving the slash command for RPers at the expense of those who enjoy PvP is a good suggestion. -
I've never noticed this myself, but I'm curious to check it out now. Can't you just turn your volume down while interacting with her?

And no one suggested it was not and should not be corrected. Removing it is not the only solution to the problem. As to the "hoolplah", it is a nice QoL feature that allows one to save macros to friendly bases without needing to tab out to copy/paste or type in base entry codes. -
Base Editing Problem - NO POWAH
ShardWarrior replied to shapeshifter-54's topic in Open Beta Testing
Are you trying to mix using Arcane and Tech versions? For instance, using Tech Power generators with Arcane rez pads? If so, I believe they need to be the same as in tech generator and tech rez pad. -

This is not true. I already gave one example of a modern MMO which requires no travel to access the content. -

I don't believe anyone said it should be allowed. Disabling its use in PvP zones or Arena and adding a 10 second interruptible activation time solves the problem too. -

Well take some comfort in knowing you're going to get your wish eventually. It's getting removed no matter how much discussion there is on the topic and I'm absolutely certain we'll be stuck with something no one will particularly like. And the slash command cannot take you to Oro, not to mention the exit points for Oro in some cases are far better than the base exit points, so it does have its advantages. -

By the time you finish a mission, your Oro portal is recharged. So no, not buying it. If anything, it is just another convenience like the P2W stuff or the Oro portal. -

And this is different than using the Oro portal? Or mission teleporter? Or existing base teleporter? I mean, yeah it might save you a couple of seconds here and there, but that's about it. If your mission door is near a train station or your next zone is accessible from Oro, the slash command isn't necessary or convenient. -

How? You still need to zone to a base then to whatever zone you need to go to then travel to the mission door. -

Yes, you're correct. Your original statement that I replied to was filled with hyperbole. The slash command doesn't make travel any easier or faster, so trying to make it sound as if it is some game breaking thing in that regard is disingenuous. Your post categorized it as an "I win" button that somehow negates the need for travel powers. It doesn't. You still need to travel to mission entry points, contacts, in zone events or whatever. -
So? The game existed for most of its lifetime without Incarnates too. All I suggested is that the idea has some merit. It may help toward alleviating some of the boredom with non-challenging content, it may not.

Disable SG base passcode access in PvP zones
ShardWarrior replied to macskull's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
^ Agreed. I don't care for PvP either, however I certainly won't begrudge anyone who does enjoy it. No doubt using this in PvP situations to escape defeat is an issue. -
Disable SG base passcode access in PvP zones
ShardWarrior replied to macskull's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I can only speak for myself here, but even with the slash command available those other powers are still very relevant. They are actually superior in certain circumstances. -
I keep seeing the "go start your own server" type dismissive post being made in response to shout down suggestions of others on these forums. If the best answer that you can provide is "don't like it, go place somewhere else" then perhaps you shouldn't be participating in a discussion. Personally, I agree with this. IMO the existing content is boringly far too easy now for teams filled with fully pimped out incarnates. I don't know if removing the aggro cap will help with that, but it is an idea with merit.

This thread reminds me - back in the day, we used to run Supergroup Fairs on Triumph. These were a day of fun events, contests, TF runs etc. all hosted by various supergroups. They provided players looking for homes an opportunity to meet and greet potential SG mates and see if they were a good fit for the players. Anyone have any interest in putting together something like this? If so, I'm happy to help coordinate and set something up.

ShardWarrior replied to Cinderwalker's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Why not? The reasons being given for removing it (other than it is a GM command) is people using it to "cheat" and escape deaths in PvP and Master of TF runs. IMO a viable alternative is to disable it from working in PvP zones and/or giving it a short animation that is interruptible. That seems reasonable to me given that it is just as easy - if not easier - to escape death by popping PFF if you're a bubbler or purple insps and we don't see inspirations being removed for these same reasons. Neither are the P2W team transports - I've been on TFs where we all had one and could tag team using them, so there was little to no travel needed. One of the very nice things about this for those of us in the base building community is the ability to save them as a macro to have buttons that will port us to friendly bases. No need to tab out and copy/paste base entry codes all the time and we could travel from base to base very easily. Just my experience in speaking of other MMOs I currently play, the whole design concept of using travel time as a means to slow progression is a relic. Game design has been trending away from that for years as gamers are no longer a small group of people living in their parents basements. STO as an example allows you to queue for teamed content from any location or transwarp directly to your mission. No need to spend hours on travel - you spend it actually playing the game instead of waiting to travel to your destination. Even more recent TF/event additions in CoH like DFB, DiB, Summer BB, Yin, revamped Posi etc. are all shorter in length and contained to a few missions within 1 or two city zones. Also wanted to add, porting to your base in no way negates travel. You still need to travel to the mission door which in my experience is more often than not far away from where the entry point is when you zone in from a base. If you still enjoy spending a good portion of your time traveling from zone to zone you are still more than capable of doing so as using anything like the slash command or whatever will replace it is entirely optional. I highly doubt we will get anything even remotely close to what we have now. I imagine it will cost a lot of inf, have an absurdly long cooldown and generally not be worth it. Was nice to have this while it lasted. -
Love it! Going to check it out when I get home tonight. With all the new items added in todays patch, I know what I'll be doing this weekend.
