  1. Honestly, a complete overhaul of how the Badge Window works would be great. With over 1500 Badges at this point, with SO MANY of them being Exploration Badges, it would be very much appreciated if the whole thing could be reorganized. Pipe-dream, naturally. We'd need one seriously compulsive volunteer to go through -that- hell.
  2. While it would be one more thing that a GM might have to check for potential violations of the T.o.U., considering GMs sometimes have to parse through character descriptions . . . well . . . I say "Yay" to @Grindingsucks' suggestion, conditionally on the GMs being okay with it. Otherwise, I'd just like ALL titles to be unlocked across Origins and Alignments, and a few more (like @BrandX's "Immortal") being added. I mean, if they absolutely feel the need to gate it, three non-exclusive solutions: 1) "Wrong-"Origin Titles get unlocked at level 35 or 40. 2) Players can pay Inf to unlock ANY Title at any level (optionally: The further you are from the correct level, the more Inf it costs). 3) Complete specific Story Arcs or speciality content to unlock specific Titles (might be too similar to how Badge Titles work, but whatever. More Options is Good Options!).
  3. Regarding the handy-dandy feature of Super Packs being accessible by your alts: * all of your alts -on one account.- Would be handy to be able to Forward Character Items.
  4. Oh geez. Supermegatopia. There's a blast from the past!
  5. It's always worth noting: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Nw-npzUY2NGc6SFoHa1ByWw202gI8DlT0ZDTQwoR7YM/edit#gid=0 I think the other Shards have their own versions, though Everlasting is definitely a busy Shard for this sort of thing.
  6. . . . you may want to brace yourself for more grimness and darkness then, Doug.
  7. On Legacy/Retail, I got blind invites quite often. Quite. Often. So often that all of my characters' Search Comments were to the effect of "I won't accept any Invite without an appropriate Tell first." On Homecoming (I'm pretty much exclusively on Everlasting), I've received two blind invites. One of them immediately apologized afterwards, unprompted. I much prefer my time on Homecoming; boy-howdy! I get the feeling of not wanting to be rude and leaving a team. Hell, it's happened to me a few times. But yeah . . . sometimes you've got to bite that social awkwardness bullet and just say "Sorry; I'm out." This isn't a job. There's no onus on players to give two weeks' notice or anything. Just some nice, polite words attached to direct statements of intent will serve both you and the community best. It can be hard to overcome some habits, but just remember that you should be enjoying your time here; not dreading it.
  8. What you're looking for instead of "+forward" is "++autorun" in there. That one will toggle forward movement. To get the perma-foward to stop, try typing: /-forward
  9. Spouse and I just binged it up to episode 4. We'll check back in a month or two after the rest of the season drops. But after those four episodes we immediately started watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Got through the first two episodes. We'd been meaning to get around to it for a while. Looks like we finally found the impetus.
  10. To the best of my knowledge; due to the present limitations of the engine, this is something that is rather unlikely to be correctable. 3D asset clipping is kind of an "integral part" of the City of Heroes experience, given the game's age. @Naomi might know if there's any hope at all, but even then: Please temper expectations.
  11. "France?" @GM Tahquitz, I was sure it was Germany. When did this change? Or did I just have the wrong information all this time? I just did a search, and the Privacy Policy states Germany. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/privacy-policy/
  12. You set up a Game Account with separate credentials from your existing Forum Account. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/gameaccount/ Whatever details you put in to that page are the login and password you use to play the game.
  13. Ha. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/26136-february-2021-donations-finances/ Timing.
  14. We were getting nervous in Everlasting just a little while ago. Glad to see it was nothing to worry about.
  15. So we were just chatting about it in Everlasting General . . . did we miss the Donation Window for this month? Has something happened?
  16. I start with OOC. Communicate with other people as players first, find out if they're interested and available to having another character participate in what they're up to, or possibly even starting something new.
  17. @Mjolnerd's pixie is giving me flashbacks to the first, uh . . . "inspiring" manga I ever read. . . . . . . excuse me. I think I have a couple characters I need to go make on the Everlasting Shard.
  18. A miniature version of the guy in the Warhulk?
  19. Typical player or not, Defenders are NOT wholly ranged. Traps emphatically waves "HELLO!" while Kinetics just stares directly into your soul with an expression of: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/25354-my-latest-idea-for-a-meleebuff-at-and-why-it-wont-work/?tab=comments#comment-309701 The premise that "because a lot of Support Powers are ranged, then a Support Archetype -needs- to stay at range" is entirely faulty. For pete's sake, Dominator's Assault Sets and Blaster's Manipulation Sets are both Ranged/Melee hybrid Sets. All of the Epic Archetypes are also mixed. Mixing Ranged and Melee in a single Archetype isn't anything new. While it might be somewhat of a challenge for new players (or stubborn old players) to wrap their heads around, it's not so alien to the core gameplay of City of Heroes to be entirely unique. The precedent was set since Issue 0: Moving in and out of melee range is a-okay for EVERYONE to do; you just gotta be aware of what you're doing. A new Support/Melee Archetype's minimum bar for entry is Defender levels of survival. That would likely be pushing it, of course, and probably not terribly fun . . . but as long as this Archetype isn't WEAKER than a Defender, it'll be fine. Hit Points aren't too challenging of a question. Probably Stalker levels. Maybe between Stalker/Blaster and Corruptor. The fundamental question of viability comes down to: What should the Inherent be? And for that, we can look to Vigilance for an exemplar. Let's say . . . while Solo, this Support/Melee gets 10 to each Positional Defense, and 15 to all Damage Resistance. This scales down with each team member who joins (along the lines of 10/8/5/0, 15/10/5/0), until you get 4 or more Teammates. Obviously these numbers are straight outta my ass, but I imagine someone like @Bopper could crunch the numbers and come up with something more finely tuned. Also, as suggested in the other threads on this topic, whatever replaces Taunt/Confront/Placate from the Melee Sets should also work to the Archetype's survival. Hence my suggestion of it being an AoE Placate which also doubles as a Breakfree, Status Protection, and Movement Speed Boost. Put it in the Level 10 unlock slot so that it's never too far away, and mirrors the Tanker's position of Taunt, cementing it as an integral Power to the Archetype's core identity. Support/Melee isn't unobtainable. And based on my entirely subjective opinion, which I know doesn't count for a helluva lot, it's the sort of Archetype that would be an absolute fun time!
  20. ncsoft is not (presently) associated with Homecoming. This is not an official / above-board server, but represents an effort to preserve the software and community through not-for-profit (and hopefully, someday, even charitable) means. All of pertinent account management materials for Homecoming are contained within this website and the game itself (unless you want to get involved with the Closed Beta, which is kept separate, but requires a personal invite). Any other existing City of Heroes Server is not affiliated with Homecoming nor ncsoft, and the use of accounts for those servers do not transfer to Homecoming, nor vice-versa.
  21. Savage Assault from Dominators, actually, not the Mastermind. It was either give AE Savage Melee the birds or the bees as the ranged attack. For whatever reason they opted for the birds. . . . I still think it would be awesome to have a "Throw Talon/Fang/Tusk" attack instead. Basically just a reskin of Throwing Knife, but it would prevent Savage characters from looking all Nature'y with their present animals.
  22. Back on topic, someone pointed out an important factor last night: The country (and state) in which the Homecoming Limited Liability Corporation was registered. Someone mentioned Delaware, and I can't recall if that's correct . . . but yeah. Despite the location of the servers, the Homecoming Team is most likely to operate under the purview of the laws in the place which the company is set up. So . . . yeah. u.s. standards of "PG-13" are what they operate under. While the specific choice of words which get filtered are in the Homecoming Devs' hands, the reason for which words get censored will likely be their best reading of the mores and laws based out of the u.s. If we believe a word is on list in error, definitely contact the Devs. Given the overall conservative (in the non-political definition) nature of Homecoming's development, this is likely something that is "working as intended." . . . just, clearly working awkwardly with existing game dialogue.
  23. Casablanca blows Citizen Kane outta the water. I get that Kane pioneered a lot of stuff in a filmic sense . . . but Casablanca is just entirely more watchable, and has an ending that feels satisfying. And the sequel to Princess Bride is Once Upon A Deadpool.
