  1. "I have all the X" is always going to be a problem, and "please add more" is always going to be a temporary solution at best.
  2. I'm a fan of lots of room for description (*looks at Virtueverse entries*), but I'm not sure that in-game is the place for it. IMO, in-game bios are best kept short and sweet, like the text box(es) at the top of old comic splash pages ("Bitten by a radioactive Bar, Foo Fighter gained astonishing powers of flight and illusion! Now he uses these, along with his flashing fists and musical ability, to fight crime!"). Think of it as a trailer or teaser, not the whole movie or show. If you want/need more room to fully describe your character, put in a link to some off-site resource so the curious can check it out.
  3. Back before we had radios, Ouborous, AE, etc etc etc - wayyyy back in the single digit issues - it was absolutely possible to run out of missions, by finishing all the story arcs available from contacts. Most people (who didn't plan their leveling carefully) did, sometime in the late 30s, and had to painfully grind the rest of the way to 40 (where the Issue 1 level 40-50 content at Portal Corp kicked in), usually by street sweeping. Lots and lots of street sweeping. Really, you have no idea how lucky you are, or how rough this game was in some spots. Fortunately, it got better.
  4. Good question. I think this year, a different sort of celebration may be in order...
  5. Back when the game was live and new (late 2004), I soloed much of what content there was, so I could experience the game's story at my own pace. That pace was often rather slow, as my main at the time was a Defender, but I didn't know any better. 😛 I still prefer to experience any new story content on my own; but for most other things, especially when playing a character with low defenses and/or damage output, I'd rather be on a team.
  6. Agreed to all of the above; however, the other side of the coin (as expressed by at least one poster above) is those who can't or won't make those updates, and are running on older hardware and/or OSes, must find their entertainment in games of similar vintage. That's what this one was; but now that it's being actively updated again, not so in the (near) future. A game that was in that category (provided one could access it at all) is being moved out of it.
  7. Void Skiff is a literal hover disk power already in the game, available from the P2W vendor. (The name isn't very indicative of what it is, IMO.) It looks like an orange/peach version of the "Energy" shield that's one option for Shield Defense. Unfortunately, Void Skiff is not recolorable; nor is Prestige Slide, of course. I'd very much like it if both of them were.
  8. OP: I count "not one" but several people who offered to help and asked for more information from you. Perhaps you could do them the courtesy of responding to them? Someone may be able to solve your problem - perhaps not in the same manner that you expected or were used to back on live, but another way that accomplishes the same result. If you have been discouraged from posting publicly, I invite you to message me privately. I'd like to see this resolved to your satisfaction, if that's possible.
  9. Looks like I have to say it again: Not every concept needs or deserves its own powerset and/or AT.
  10. At this point, I would like to hear from the OP to find out if this was all a misunderstanding (of how things are usually done on HC vs live) and if his actual need has been addressed, or if they still want to go through the recipe-crafting process.
  11. I agree with you, OP, and yet I am utterly boggled that you would rather reroll and level to 50, multiple times, than simply go inside the building when you fill the meter.
  12. Two of the most effective teams I've been on, ever, were an all-defender team and an all-spider (Widow and Soldier) team. In both cases, the main factor was (IMO) the stacked buffs and debuffs. Enemies just melted. (This was back on Live, by the way.)
  13. They kept it on life support, IMO. Not quite the same thing.
  14. This SS player wants Rage to go away be fixed specifically so we don't keep having this discussion.
  15. I, too, have done the low-pop server thing. It's definitely missing something. At times, I had the uncomfortable feeling that I was running (flying) around an Echo... a shadow of what once was, frozen in time, but with no life or future. I much prefer the experience of playing on a server like Everlasting, even with the occasional bad PUG, troll on chat, and other issues.
  16. The real issue, IMO, is that way back when Inherents were added, the Devs flat out acknowledged, in as many words, that Defenders were already exactly in the sweet spot. But everyone else was getting Inherents, so they had to give them something... So what we got, basically, was a gold star sticker - a bit of decoration that, in most cases and for many Defender powersets, has little or no noticeable effect. Purely for the sake of "everyone gets a trophy Inherent."
  17. "God answers every prayer. Sometimes the answer is 'no'." (Two other possible answers are "not yet" and "this isn't what you asked for, but it's what you actually need.")
  18. "Technically possible", perhaps, in the sense of "would require entirely recoding large parts of the game." I submit that this is a task beyond the scope of what the Paragon/Cryptic devs could do, let alone the HC team (no offense to the latter). My previous response assumed you were not aware of this because knowing it to be so, in your place, I would not ask or suggest it. To continue: yes, in my experience, that is the common pattern of gameplay here. I'm sorry that you find it unsatisfying, but again, I doubt that it is practical to alter the game to change it significantly. Note that there is technically nothing preventing you, or I, from continuing to play characters once they are fully incarnate and "complete"; particularly if one enjoys how they play, wishes to make actual use of all that effort rather than (effectively) wasting it by (effectively) discarding them upon completion, and/or considers them as characters first rather than simply bundles of powers. That said, for me at least, I think part of the tendency or urge to shelve them and make a new character is due to the desire to explore new ideas, concepts and/or power combinations within the vast space of possibilities that this game allows, and/or some measure of "burnout" from grinding the previous one to this point. (Ironic, then, to embark immediately on the same journey with another...)
  19. Or one hour logged in. One of the things I do early on, with most characters, is go there and idle in a quiet corner (tabbed out and websurfing, usually) until I get it.
  20. Pretty sure that (1) is not technically possible. I did read your other post, and I saw that (a) you have a name you really like, and (b) you prefer to have one character who can switch specs (radically) rather than create multiple alts. Unfortunately, that's not how it works here.
  21. To go back to the OP, and everyone else asking for some or all of the (remaining) NPC-only costume bits to be unlocked: All you (we) know is that there are no issues with these costume pieces that you have observed or are aware of, or that you're not willing to live with. The HC devs may know/think/believe otherwise. Historically, the common attitude I've observed on the player side has been "I don't care if there are issues (with clipping, etc), I want it now." It may be that they are fine to go live as-is; it may not.
