It's all about "sharing the wealth" of knowledge gained and wisdom earned so that we can ALL benefit from what can be learned. Some people want to (jealously?) keep everything they know to themselves so that no one else can use it ... which perhaps makes sense when you're talking about PvP build, but in PvE why aren't you wanting to share the insights as widely as possible? I mean, I've been "well repaid" for sharing my builds in that other people take them (and run with them) and make other discoveries which then, like karma, return to me (threefold?). In other words, we're ALL made "richer" thanks to the effort I put into sharing this stuff ... and it is an effort(!) ... but it also makes us all both better and wiser in how we play the game we all love.

I post walls of text on my builds mainly because there are so many synergies that aren't ... obvious ... just by looking at a build (especially in a short form export). And let's be honest here, I write all that stuff up to get it out of my head so that it's memorialized on the forums where other people can read it and vet it and make use of it and take it and run with it. By posting all of those tips and tricks on how the entirety of builds can be fit together it will INSPIRE other people with notions of "well that's clever..." and then incorporate those ideas into their own builds that they're inspired to build for themselves. Or to put it another way ... a Forum Export (whether long or short) ... does not explain itself simply by virtue of existing. So in order to make the content of my builds "accessible" to others, I go to the extra effort of explaining what's going on. The side benefit of doing that is that I memorialize for myself (as well as others) what bits of nifty I'm getting up to in the builds that I post, because there's so much stuff going on in them that if I don't memorialize them I'm going to forget some of it over time, simply because there's SO MANY moving parts in them ... and those synergies are things that are easy to miss the significance of if they aren't laid out clearly. But then, once it's pointed out, that kind of stuff becomes "obvious" for everyone to make use of, not just me ... and THAT inspiration is my real reward for writing up those walls of text like I tend to do. So the real thing to know about my builds is that I don't assume that EVERYONE who skims over them will "know" everything that's going on in them unless I explain them ... mainly because if I don't write those explanations then even *I* would, over time, forget about those points of nifty that I get up to in my builds. So I time capsule them on the forums and provide documentation explaining what I got up to (and why). Needless to say, most people don't go to that kind of effort to "share the wealth" of their experience.

That's why you put it into the T1 Pets ... so you have 3 of them attacking to proc the Knockdowns.

Soul Storm ... if only for the animation it puts Held Foes into. Gotta have style points when you can't even SEE your avatar behind the puffball ...

Even if you move the power earlier in the build, you won't have all the slots for it until you get to 50 ... so the difference is how early you can access Tactics (and thus Gaussian's) when Exemplared. As for whether that kind of power pick slot swap is "worth it" to you is really a question that only YOU can answer for you. If it is ... do it ... on your build.

Team-1: 1 - (1 - 0.065)^1 = 06.5% chance to proc every 10 seconds Team-2: 1 - (1 - 0.065)^2 = 12.5% chance to proc every 10 seconds Team-3: 1 - (1 - 0.065)^3 = 18.2% chance to proc every 10 seconds Team-4: 1 - (1 - 0.065)^4 = 23.5% chance to proc every 10 seconds Team-5: 1 - (1 - 0.065)^5 = 28.5% chance to proc every 10 seconds Team-6: 1 - (1 - 0.065)^6 = 33.1% chance to proc every 10 seconds Team-7: 1 - (1 - 0.065)^7 = 37.5% chance to proc every 10 seconds Team-8: 1 - (1 - 0.065)^8 = 41.5% chance to proc every 10 seconds League-16: 1 - (1 - 0.065)^16 = 65.8% chance to proc every 10 seconds League-24: 1 - (1 - 0.065)^24 = 80.0% chance to proc every 10 seconds League-32: 1 - (1 - 0.065)^32 = 88.3% chance to proc every 10 seconds League-34: 1 - (1 - 0.065)^34 = 89.8% chance to proc every 10 seconds League-35: 1 - (1 - 0.065)^35 = 90.0% (90.4%) chance to proc every 10 seconds You want to think of Leagues as being "multi-team" simultaneously, in the sense that they're "all on your team" as far as whether or not powers can apply to them which require them to be teammates. It's basically a code hack to allow teams to exceed 8 in size. This is why the max target limit on Tactics, for example is 255, even though you'll never squeeze that many teammates into a single zone. So my understanding is that it'll buff +ToHit for everyone on your Team/League who is within 60ft of your PC, and because of that the proc chances for Gaussian's will rise above the (mere) Team 1-8 chances to proc every 10 seconds. Yup. Corrupted another one with the Awesome™ ... 😎 This keeps happening ... 😅

Mid's Reborn: Hero Designer

Any chance you could (cross)post it here for those of us who don't discord? -
Blaster Full Auto = 19º Cone Corruptor Full Auto = 19º Cone Defender Full Auto = 19º Cone Arachnos Soldier Heavy Burst = 30º Cone Arachnos Soldier Mace Beam Volley = 45º Cone Arachnos Soldier Suppression = 60º Cone Flamethrower = 45º Cone I'm of the opinion that replicating the Arachnos Soldier Heavy Burst into Full Auto for the Assault Rifle sets is the way to go.

Some Tweaks to Give Trick Arrow a Point
Redlynne replied to DougGraves's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Can't do that and keep the aggro-less aspect of the power. You don't want aggro on this power in exchange for a tiny amount of damage. Seriously, if you need to light an Oil Slick simply take either the Taser or Amulet origin powers from the P2W vendor, which is adequate for getting the job done. -
We make every pretense of competency around here ... 😎

That's only going to make a difference on attacks that can do Knockback ... which in the case of Genin is their Crane Kick only. That's why you're getting such a marginal return on investment with this proc. This is somewhat more useful since their Katana attacks can all make use of these procs.

Swift+Quickness+(Power Surge/Sprint)+Ninja Run is my go to "travel" power. If I need extra jump height, I toggle on the (reusable) Jump Pack from the P2W vendor. If I'm in the Shadow Shard I look around for geysers to get around faster than I could be flying (or even teleporting!) around ... you just need to know where they are (and how to use them) in order to navigate. Always fun being on a Team-8 and being first to the Mission Door using Sprint+Ninja Run ... even when there are Superspeeders on the team. 😎 All the way back in Issues 3-5 I actually used 6-slot Hover (with 6 Fly SO enhancements) as my "travel" power, which was basically about 60mph speed fast and didn't have aerial movement "friction" problems like Fly did (you stopped on a dime). I'd demo it for people and they simply couldn't believe what they were seeing, since it was "Fly" with no sliding. Hover is used to reach "high places" and/or get around places where there's No Ground™ (like the Shadow Shard) ... all you need is patience, which, granted, not everyone has a useful supply of. In combat though, it can be almost invaluable as a "get out of jail free" card for Caltrops (just Hover above them while continuing to kick everything around you) and a number of other "groundbound" debuff and mez effects that will neutralize your Run/Jump mobility but do not affect your ability to "Fly" over them. Being able to Hover out of like 10x Caltrops stacked onto a single area can be mighty useful!

You refer to the Freem Fifteen ... and yes, it's true ... for almost 2 years there were only 15 Developers working on City of Heroes trying to maintain the entirety of the game. It's part of why it took so long for Issue 9 and the Invention System to come out.

I like this analogy. Its a good explanation. We make every pretense of competency around here ... 😅

The + at the front causes the bind to activate upon downclick and upclick of the key in question. More properly, the idea is that it will cause it to cast everything after the $$ more or less continuously while the bound key is held down, but since Dark Extraction has an animation/recharge it winds up only casting once when you do this. Point being that this arrangement is a more "thorough" way to seek/target/cast than an alternative that doesn't use +$$ since it makes more than one attempt per keyclick, even if only one attempt can be successfully cast. Scattershot to hit, rather than single shot to hit (if that helps you visualize it better).

You can do the breadcrumb missions that give you the introduction to the first contact in a line of missions, because the "source" of that breadcrumb is usually Someone Else than the person you're being introduced to (Provost Marchand gives the mission to meet Interrogator Kang, for example). This means that the breadcrumb doesn't "count" against you for having completed it (and it offers no XP/rewards, so if the breadcrumb gets skipped it's no big deal). And yes, there is more content than necessary to level through zones, so you'll need to go to No XP before crossing the boundary into the next group of contacts. I find that's the most problematic aspect of everything, since it's SO EASY to get lost in Scrapperlock and lose track of how much XP you're gaining until DING!! ... and then it's like DAMNIIITTTTT!!! That's because Calvin Scott will phase remove Aaron Walker ... just like Interrogator Kang will phase remove Doctor Steffard. Therefore, better safe than sorry.

Yes, Ninjas have ranged attacks in the mix ... but as soon as they exhaust them, they're charging straight into melee, and (usually) once they're in melee range they leave the ranged attacks behind and concentrate on doing melee attacks.

The Oni has a mix of ranged attacks and melee. He does Fire Sword attacks, if you're worried about it.

Dude. Ninjas ...

Mad geniuses of the forum: Necromancy secondary insights?
Redlynne replied to ParaBruce's topic in Mastermind
Trick question. Are you just trying to min/max the game mechanics, or do you just no know what concept you want to use for your own Necromancer? -
Fulcrum Shift is a MASSIVE Buff+Debuff on everyone in range of the power. Buffs and Debuffs generate Threat. /em waits for pachinko machine to do its thing ...
