  1. I totally agree. Not only do I wish the Dom ATOs benefited damage, I wish the Controller ones did, too.
  2. This is the build I have used since forever. She pretty much smashes everything. It is slotted for speed and often plays from in or near melee. Some people would slot sets more for Def, but that would mean giving up some damage and recharge, so that was not the way I went. Also, Afterburner is only for theme, so you could easily remove it without losing any real effectiveness. I recommend Tactics or Assault in its place. 3. "Acid Arrow Now applies a -special resistance debuff (Endurance, ToHit, Regen, Recovery, Recharge Time, and Endurance Discount debuffs against the target will be stronger)" Oh myyyyyyyyy. Let me team up with a /Traps...
  4. My Grav/Storm cruises through stuff in no time. Damage on a controller is heavily dependent on your secondary. Not entirely, but it can make a big difference. As was said, so you're going to do less damage than a more offensive secondary. I recommend defensive secondaries particularly for folks who like to carry otherwise underpowered teams. For example, if you plan to run a lot of PI Radio teams with lower level teammates, it will serve you well. If you are looking to speed up your personal kill-rate, look for secondaries with more -DEF, -RES, and -Regen. Of course, these are also great to speed up your team.
  5. As a Gravity mainliner, I gotta say, that Fold Space thing is some BOO sheet (insert ghost gif). Wormhole was such a cool unique power. Nobody else had anything like it. Now everybody will. And Fold Space has a longer range! Super uncool devs. Super uncool.
  6. Dang I need to get in on this! I love alltroll teams. Have you done an alltroll MLTF?
  7. For me, having all the different build and play styles has been helpful. Heck, I'm just happy people are helping, at all.
  8. If you were building for min/max performance tankmage, what would it look like? Honestly, I have no real preferences when it comes to Defenders, this being my first one. I do play aggressively, I guess if I did say I had a preference, it would be a tankmage, which is where I was trying to get.
  9. Wow, this is all great info! Thanks so much, I will go over it and make adjustments
  10. Hey All, Taking my first good stab at a Defender! Can I get some feedback on my build? I went with Poison because I like the look of the debuffs and the overall variety of the powers. Water is just for fun. It also has a self-heal, some knock mitigation, and a bit of debuff. The character swamp is a pile of sewer sludge has achieve consciousness and arisen to take revenge on polluters. It wears a clunky suit of armor to hold itself together, for now. One question I have about the build, should I skip Water Jet? It seems to do low damage for a single target attack of its rank. Any feedback on the build is greatly appreciated. 11. This is cool. Does it also suppress them for other people, or just for you?
  12. Whoops, good point! I love my little firey orbs!
  13. Found your problem! Arachnos are tough. Period. Rather than trying to build for just this one enemy group, I find it better to simply alter my play style for them. Normally, I just bull through everything, even at 4x8. But, with Arachnos, I use a bit more strategy, pulling, sniping, kiting, and such.
  14. I totally feel this. I've tried a bunch of different sets and can't get into them like I can Gravity. Nothing feels as powerful and controllery. One thing you might try is swapping to a Dominator (blasphemy, I know). This will give you more of that "blaster" feel you get from Gravity. I do have a Plant/Dark that is quite powerful, but you have to be okay with the enemies doing most of the work for you. I much prefer the THUNK of Propel.
  15. No, not at all. As far as I know, the only "pets" you can stack are the Shades from Haunt, and they are not exactly like regular pets.
  16. So, I'm working up a Poison/Water build. It seems like a good combo. Poison has some nasty debuffs, along with the regular heal/rez/anti-mezz stuff. Water comes with a bit of KD mitigation and a self-heal, not to mention fun power visual effects. So, I'm looking over the power sets to see what is skippable and it does not look like much. For Poison, I was kind of thinking Neurotoxic Breath, but that massive recharge debuff seems nice. But, will it actually come up very often? For Water, I'm looking at skipping Hydro Blast, maybe. Also, any suggestions for proc slotting is appreciated!
  17. We still don't see your proof of run.
  18. 4 Illusions, 3 Storms, and 3 Plants? Brought your own army!
  19. I definitely have nothing against Kins, they are great. And certainly easier to play than a Storm. But calling Storm "selfish" just show a real lack of understanding of how it works and I didn't want the OP and others to be left with the wrong impression about it.
  20. LMAO if you think that you're clearly playing Storm wrong. Massive debuffs make your teammates way more effective, additional mitigation to keep them alive, and one of the best heals in the game. Debuffs >> buffs because you never have to say stuff like "gather for RA". You debuff the enemies and it makes no difference where your teammates are standing, they get the benefit. Plus, Storm has actual damage attacks, so you're not leaning so hard on your teammates to do all the killing.
  21. VV

    -DEF vs -RES

Well this thread came along right at the right time. I am working on a Storm/? And was going to ask if /Rad or /Sonic were the better choice. Looks like sonic wins, which is cool because it fits the concept I have better.
  22. Interesting, I've never had complaints with my stormy. One thing is, think of Hurricane as an oh no power. You shouldn't need it all the time, or even most of the time. Use it only when things start to go south. Slot it for to hit debuff and you can basically cripple opponents. Positioning is important, as I'm sure you know. For steamy mist, just tell them to shut up. Sometimes that's the only way to deal with people whining about nothing.
  23. It is the best QoL improvement to be added to the game since...well...the game itself. It makes the game eminently more playable and more fun. I agree that disabling it in PvP zones would be a good and sensible idea.
  24. I do pretty well with my F3 tanker. I mean, I can't just crash through aggroing the whole map like most, but I chug along just fine.
  25. Okay, I am still unclear on this whole proc thing. For FR, I have it slotted right now with some damage procs and a KD. But, I think it has been said that damage procs in a DoT power aren't so good. The KD proc seems to keep them flopping, so that's good. But, other than that, am I wasting slots?
