New character: everything but attacks working
justicebeliever replied to Skyhawke's topic in Help & Support
Aren't attacks an optional part of the build? I mean they are nice to have...but all you really need is love! Seriously, I have no idea why this would be happening, but hopefully this gives a bump! -
Disable SG base passcode access in PvP zones
justicebeliever replied to macskull's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I think that's 100% what @Leandrois saying...That the only reason they haven't removed it yet, is not because it's difficult to do so (it's easy), but because they want to improve the existing Base Teleporter first/simultaneously (which does require actual work)... I don't think that was the plan originally (which would be that no one knew about the command), but I think they see that removing it after it's been around so long without any concession would really suck... -
Disable SG base passcode access in PvP zones
justicebeliever replied to macskull's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Besides, closing it will just cause another to rear it's head...I agree, let's keep the dialogue going... This makes me think that while we lose the biggest convenience of the slash command (zero cast time/zero cooldown), that before the command is removed, we will have an improved teleporter experience from the P2W vendor...So, while whatever replaces the current macro won't be as good, it'll be better than the current base teleporter...Overall a win... -
Customizable Base Teleporter
justicebeliever replied to Steampunkette's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Seriously, it would be great if this was introduced when they remove the existing /enterbasefrompasscode functionality...Sell it for 10M Inf, I'd still buy it...It would be great, as a compromise, if it had a reduced activation time and a reduced Cooldown time (again, for 10M, it'd be worth it...) -

+1...I like #1 as a complement/couterpoint to Hasten...I love the interplay with KB/KD/KU -
Add a new inherent toggle power for changing KB/KD
justicebeliever replied to Rylas's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I like this idea...and like you said @Rylas, it's has no more (in fact, less I would say) social pressure than the current Sudden Acceleration Enhancements...You aren't going to ask someone to respec their character because they didn't take a power...at least not anymore often than someone would kick you for not burning an enhancement slot... -
Add a new inherent toggle power for changing KB/KD
justicebeliever replied to Rylas's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
@RylasI hear you about this being an appeal to fear, and of course it is, I'll concede that...But if fears are justified, then it's the appropriate appeal... Will allowing such a inherent toggle cause all team leaders to force KB'er's to turn it off? Of course not... Will allowing it, empower some team leaders who currently live with it, become more draconian? Of course it will... Anyone who argues the above two points I won't engage with, because they have left reality...(I'm not accusing anyone on this thread of having argued those points already, just want to make sure we are all on the same playing field)...Conversely, we should concede (if we are all in reality) Allowing such a toggle will allow some players who feel limited in their teaming options because of KB more freedom to team...Agree Allowing such a toggle will force some players who enjoy KB to restrict its usage to conform to a new social norm...Agree The question becomes then on of scope, impact, and effort. Creating the change will give some players/teams more freedom, and other players less freedom...What are the #'s? I have no idea which group of players are bigger and more impacted...But it's clear it's not a slam dunk decision from a player perspective. So then let's look at the effort, and question - is it worth the effort to create a mechanism that will be divisive? If it turns out that it impacts on group more than the others, is it easily rolled back? Technically, probably yes, very easy...Socially, no, people who finally get this would be super pissed if they then lost it... And let's look at recourse... If we don't make the change, and I want to play a KB centric powerset, but don't like KB (which is an interesting question in itself), do I have recourse if I want to play on teams who don't like KB...Yes, I can slot a Sudden Acceleration or Overwhelming Force...not perfect, I agree If we do make the change, and I want to play a KB centric powerset, and I do like KB, do I have recourse to play on the same amount of teams that I used to? No, I am forced to either turn off KB, or not team as much... So I'll agree there are no clear cut winners or losers no matter what we do, but for me (and I am biased, as are all the other posters on this thread) it's not worth the risks for the rewards... -
Support ticket would be the way to go right now, but a better fix is coming soon...(no clue how soon)

Add a new inherent toggle power for changing KB/KD
justicebeliever replied to Rylas's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
If the whole universe was people who either "hate KB with a passion" or "think KB is awesomesauce" I would agree with you 100% But there is a big pool of people who dislike KB but tolerate it...Even the OP is fine with KB if it's played a certain way (and I agree with the style he supported). However, if there is this new toggle,, it becomes easier for a larger segment of team leaders to just say "turn off your KB if you want to play with us". The "turn off KB" becomes an acceptable club (the hitting kind) to use on players to force them to play a certain way...While not as draconian as the suggestion about a team toggle, it essentially still will serve the same purpose in allowing team leaders to feel justified to insist players turn off their KB to join or play on their team... So the pool of people I can team with and use KB with becomes much smaller...fewer choices for me to team with someone... -
Add a new inherent toggle power for changing KB/KD
justicebeliever replied to Rylas's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
@Rylas - this most recent turn in the thread is what I think is illustrative of how such a toggle would be managed to restrict choices. If such a toggle where created (I'm talking about the Inherent toggle you suggested, not the insanity that is a team leader toggle), there would be many team leaders who would insist you toggle off your powers to be a part of the team. Suddenly my play choices become restricted...I have either fewer teaming options, or I can't use the KB powers that I personally love so much... If I really hated KB, in the Live days, you only option would be to not use KB powers...In HC, we have more choices, skip the power or use a slot on any KB power that matters to you. It's not a "tax", it's a choice...As was mentioned there are very few KB heavy sets, and they can be avoided... I appreciate the view point you've espoused this whole thread, and I think you've been, as always, highly respectful, thoughtful, and courteous in your approach here...I know your motivation is improve your own gaming experience without hurting anyone else's, and in fact to provide more choices...but this approach will hurt others gaming, and provide them with less choices.... -
Add a new inherent toggle power for changing KB/KD
justicebeliever replied to Rylas's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Team Leader does not get to decide how any other players play or powers work. It is not now, and has not ever been a function of the game. Changing this design would violate the spirit of the game by restricting player choices, which is not something HC is at all about... If Team Leader really hates Knockback, then they can kick or not invite any player with it...I think that's short sighted and possibly quite rude, but I support your right. as team leader, to manage the team composition how you see fit... -
You can't...you can use some unslotters to unslot what you have, slot the lvl 50, use the catalyst, and then unslot it... If you are really feeling charitable to specific lowbies, you can do as @Veelectric Boogaloosuggested, or gift them, and let the the lowbie sell it, or if you are feeling charitable in general, just sell them for a really low price

Disable SG base passcode access in PvP zones
justicebeliever replied to macskull's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I agree 100%...PvP is part of the game, and it should be supported to be exploit free as much as any other part of the game... While ultimately, I too am disappointed that this slash command is likely to be removed, it doesn't ruin any part of the game for me...I was able to play and have fun with just a base transporter before I had it, and I'll be able to do the same without it again... -
When you think someone is playing their AT "wrong" ...
justicebeliever replied to PaxArcana's topic in General Discussion
I could be wrong, but this felt like more of a "build" conversation rather than playstyle. 1.) I do agree that there is room in the game for all sorts of concept characters and there isn't a wrong concept...You might not mesh well with someone else's concept, but that's already been said here, that the issue might be "we aren't meant to play together", not "you built your AT wrong". Almost all AT's can contribute to a team successfully...maybe not to the degree you want...Maybe not enough for a "Master of" Badge...but they can contribute...If people ask for advice, give it...but if someone builds a Medbot or doesn't take a travel power, it's not wrong... 2.) I do agree that there are "bad" playstyles...People who draw more aggro routinely than they (or especially the team) can handle is not good. People who don't engage in combat and support the team are not playing right. They should be told in a courteous manner, "Hey, can you let the [tanker/brute/MM pets] go in first?", or "Let's pull in a smaller crowd instead of charging in"...If they don't want to listen, it's up to the team to decide how to handle it... 3.) I think there is also room for advice that can be given regarding enhancements and slotting...If a player is constantly faceplanting you may want to suggest they slot more Health, or if they are constantly out of endurance, they may need to slot more Stamina, or a few End Reduction... -

Disable SG base passcode access in PvP zones
justicebeliever replied to macskull's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I understand this POV about it being an exploit, and I was suspect when it was first communicated...however, this has been all over the forums for a few weeks now, and in game as well (no doubt discord as well)...it would have been nice to have mentioned this much sooner, because you will cause much unrest when it is removed. And if you are going to correct it, best to rip the band-aid off and do it sooner than later before more people get used to having it and those that do have it find it more invaluable. -
There is a hard limit of 5 story arcs regardless of alignment. And 7 total open missions is also a hard limit.

Remove the MACRO attack limitations
justicebeliever replied to Razorcat's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Can you check your combat log while trying this...I wasn't sure at first either but the logged showed me both were working (as did the KO'ed Hellions in Atlas on Justin), whereas with the macro it behaved as you described... -
Remove the MACRO attack limitations
justicebeliever replied to Razorcat's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
You can do it...but you need different commands. /bind [key] “powexec_toggleon Apprentice Charm$$powexec_toggleon Brawl” I do know that neither power is in fact a toggle power, but it works (but only as a bind and not a macro) -
Remove the MACRO attack limitations
justicebeliever replied to Razorcat's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'm confused @Razorcat. In fact I am a little sad...I went through some effort to help you with this and you can have 1 key manage X-ray and Neutrino Bolt. It may not be super intuitive, but I went thru 15-20 min of my time to test it on Justin to ensure it works... -
Did some testing during the downtime today on Justin, and I can't get the Macro to work either... ...however, a bind did do the job nicely...One of the challenges with Macros is they don't handle some of the slash commands the same as binds...no idea why... /bind numpad7 "powexec_toggleon X-Ray Beam$$powexec_toggleon Neutrino Bolt"
-
Well, let's try switching them, just for giggles /macro ATT "powexec_toggleon X-Ray Beam$$powexec_toggleon Neutrino Bolt"
-
There is a trick using a different slash command - the ToggleOn command. Even if the powers aren't toggles, it forces them to activate, and if the power is in cooldown, activate the other power...Not really how it was designed to work, but it does solve this problem /macro ATT "powexec_toggleon Neutrino Bolt$$powexec_toggleon X-Ray Beam"

They don’t have to go after everyone, just the ones that are brazen enough to be public about it. That’ll stop 99% of the volume. And that’s about 4-5 servers...not too many for NCSoft to go after.
