  1. The only thing to do at this point is put in a support ticket https://support.homecomingservers.com/
  2. A few thoughts 1.) I’ve never been tempted by AE, but I have by other things...if you are like me though you will still find ways to slide back to your AE ways...”Just going to transfer to the server for a little while, just going to do a few AE missions...then I’ll switch back to the other server...I can stop at anytime”. 2.) Joking aside, I’d not want to start new server experiences because we start adding to hard costs and then the dev’s have to maintain separate code. Which might be OK, but only if it is going to serve a large % of the whole HC population.
  3. Are you the same DocBot from this post? You sound super fun to team and role play with. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,2151.msg42935.html#msg42935 I agree with the rest of your post as well.
  4. You are free to pretend ANYTHING without a game mechanic. Want NPC costumes that let you look like a Rikki or a Lost? Just pretend you do Want illusion control on Dom’s? Just pretend you do
  5. There is already another thread on this - https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,3304.0.html If you could post your thoughts there it keeps us from repeating the same conversations, plus the developers have commented there already as well.
  6. Incorrect. It would hide your auto and toggle powers but also turn all of the other buff displays on. Actually what I meant to say, but my tablet had a PEBCAK error... Perfect...thanks for this and +1 Inf
  7. So lets not allow origin respecs. Like Shinobu’s example of the Nemesis Staff or the Blackwand, there was a time before the Staff or Wand, and if you had a natural origin when they came out, you were out of luck. Unless, of course you rolled a magic/tech or had a magic/tech alt. This would be no different. There are going to be 3 options... You will hate any new content, in which case no harm comes to you as you can just not participate You will not care, same as above You will love it, in which case the worst reason to NOT do something would be because you don’t have a specifc origin. a.) you do have a origin, so there would be something for you b.) you can always create a character with a new origin Saying no to something because you “might” not have the right origin would be like a lvl 30 player saying no to endgame content because they might not get there...
  8. So a buff value of zero turns everything on, regardless of how it was set before? A value of 3 would hide only my auto and toggle buffs, but not impact any other buffs or team/pet buffs at all, regardless of how they were set before? This souns great, can’t wait to play with it...
  9. Because it's a decision I made on all my characters with the knowledge that it isn't relevant, and there's no way to change it. Agreed. And even if you could change it with Null the Gull, Origins have been established to be relevant for RP purposes only and should remain as such. They were established as the source of your low level mission content, they were never meant to be completely arbitrary as a game mechanic. I agree they have become so, but that's no reason not to revisit it. I'm confused with all those saying no...there isn't really an idea here, just brainstorming...what's there to say no to? There are already magic villains, science villains, technology villain, natural villains, and maybe mutant villains (Outcasts?) so this is just expaniding on those ideas.
  10. I am not the creative type in this area (all my creativity lives and dies in the kitchen), but I really like the idea of this. And content in this area could be extended from lvl 5 to beyond 50. And you wouldn't necessarily have to create a ton of new stuff - you could use existing contacts (they are all tied to the different origins already), existing zones, and a lot of the existing mobs - just need 5 different origin specific foes, write the arcs, and decide what goodies go with it - special powers, special enhancements +1 for Brainstorming further
  11. The Warden? The Wildcard? I like the Wildcard... :)
  12. Are these all binary options... Doing 1 the first time hides auto buffs and doing 1 again shows them?
  13. Please don't weaponize scripture...I'm 100% sure that intent of these authors was not about winning arguments... Read Gal 5:22-23, or Matthew 7:5 before using it in this manner... I'm not going to turn this into a religious battle, but seriously...don't use it that way...this is not the place or the time...
  14. This. Happened to me many times forming a group - someone switches sides to join up. Need one LFG per server...
  15. Fall off tall buildings in a single bound?
  16. Abraxus +1 I think you hit a key point on the head. Too many of us think we are the hero of our own story and the smartest or most moral or most whatever person in the room. And it's EXTREMELY unlikely that any of us are that person. So we should be considerate of the fact that another poster might have a POV different than ours, but that does not mean it is invalidated because it is different, and in fact it could bring a perspective we are missing and should consider before throwing it out because it's different...
  17. Did you mean this thread? - https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,3153.0.html Fewer threads = better conversations...
  18. Let me thank you for your service. You have the thanks of a grateful country, and mine as well as a former service member as well. I appreciate your passion, and I think I safely speak for most of us, that we are very happy to have our game back. I think that drives some of the passion on these forums...We've had the game, lost the game, and now have it back. I'm an avid lurker on these forums, so I feel very comfortable saying that any instances of someone attacking the Devs or Homecoming, I could count on 1 or 2 fingers. Most people here are VERY respectful of the development team As for each other, that can be a different story. Like family, many of us will argue, but then in the same breath we would team up with each other, or grab a beer after work together... There are definitely 2 sides to the too easy/too hard route. I personally am the "I think the game is too easy" type. I play routinely at a +2/+3 difficulty to challenge myself and make the game harder. The downside is playing at the level I earn a lot of XP and end up outleveling the content too quickly...So my only choices are NO XP or too much XP. It's fine, but not ideal...And there was a time when 90% of LFG was for DFB. That does make it hard to form a team for many people. Impossible? No. But LFG was not made for DFB, it was made to make teaming easier for ALL players, including DFB. And for us older players that don't have a lot of time to play, having to wait 30-45 min to form a group that is not DFB, makes it hard. I'm not complaining, but just pointing out that there are challenges for everyone Should people complain that you leveled faster than me because you are using AE to farm, or had a friend PL you, or you ran DFB to get to lvl 20 in 1/10 the time I did? No they should not. There is no shame in going slow or going fast. People will say silly things like "people who PL don't know how to use their powers", and that's a load of horsehockey. There are definitely people who don't know how to use their powers, but that's because they don't care or don't know to dive deeper into how the game works. I've seen that behavior in the game since day 1. Hell, I've been guilty of it as well. There are many veteran players here who know wayyyyy more about the game than I do, and they PL/Farm as well... Finally, Homecoming put these boards up specifically for people to voice their opinions. And that's awesome of them. And people voice their opinions in different ways. One of the big challenges is that tone is lost on the internet. What would not sound like a complaint in person, sounds like it to other people on the forums. For the most part, I just try to assume good intentions from the other poster, and take their words at face value without imparting too much emotion into them. It keeps my blood pressure down and reduce the number of arguments I get into... Again, welcome, and thank you for your service. Enjoy Paragon City, voted by Food & Wine magazine as the largest city with the fewest restaurants that are actually open
  19. Ok, that's cool. Didn't mean to hurt Hasten's feelings... I’m trying to read the forums quietly and you just had to make me chuckle! +1 Inf
  20. "Lucille, God gave me a gift. I shovel well. I shovel very well."
  21. Hey, I even tried a rolling-macro setup today, to switch a difficult power using two tray slots in swapping trays. What a PITA to manage. Again, a simple bind worked better. I give you Maslow's Law. :D I've always said binds were WAY better at managing the complex stuff.... For the record I use both, but lean more heavily on binds...
  22. I think the question on the table is really - should people be able to lvl up like they can on the Beta Server, through just a slash command. It has nothing to do with DFB, PL'ing, Farming...Those all use the existing game mechanics to lvl up... Even though I am not a farmer, PL'er, or play much DFB, I have zero problem with people who can level up to 20 in 2 hours, or to 50 in a day...that's fine. It doesn't hurt even though I don't play that way. But I have an issue with throwing out the mechanics to allow people to lvl to 50 with one command and the add 20+ vet levels with another, and then outfit all their IO Sets by just adding 2B inf with a command. If that's really what anybody wanted in their heart of hearts, why did they come here?
