Don't sleep on /sonic. Nothing like casting a meteor, and running into a group to debuff them with Disruption Aura to make it hit harder then using deafening wave/upthrust on any survivors.

<- 40 year old combat vet that has played since Beta. I play mostly on Everlasting, but dabble with some other servers for things like Tanker Tuesday, farming on a low pop servers, or occasionally goofing off on my own sandbox server. At this point I've probably forgotten more than some learn, but over the last couple of years since becoming a dad, I am a lot more casual then I used to be. You can feel free to hit me up, as I often volunteer time to help people understand IO interactions and build theory so they can make their own builds in Mids. Otherwise in-game I'm Grass in EverlastingTFs, and if I'm not running content I'm likely doing a TF, Hami raid, or if the stars align, some PvP.

Hmmm before my daughter was born I would say 1-50 in the same day most often within about 3 hours. My playtime has shifted over the last couple of years though significantly. I'm currently doing a 1-50 run with an arsenal/trick arrow troller that I've been leveling up via story arcs and slotting IO sets as I go. That toon will likely need a respec at 50 to redistribute slots and put in it's purples. So far it's been all solo, which I don't do often and honestly it's kind of refreshing from carrying a team.

Honestly that's been my impression as well. A few conversations with a couple GMs and Devs over the years and they seem like good enough people to drink a beer with while chatting about the game lore or theory crafting.

I fully concur. You don't have to actively tank for a group, but as a tanker you'll have an easier time hitting your resistances and able to slot procs easier. The extra AoE in Combustion is nice.

Perhaps a reinstall of the game files might resolve the issue?

Only reason I'd consider a brute over a tanker these days is if you also farm EBs. I haven't done the map of influence/HR of elite bosses or not, but at high fury and active farming they seem to die easier with a brute than a tank IMO.

I see I'm not the only one to imagine having super powers in traffic. I admit I've thought about what it would be like to have super strength and throwing cars that cut me off into orbit before. I would definitely end up like Homelander. Maybe I'd leap up and catch the car like a frisbee and set it back down on the shoulder.

Not me this time, but a few months ago I was a bit inebriated and bid 10,000,000 on a stack of EOEs. I think I was trying to pay 10,000 a piece, but oh well someone probably needed that 100 mil more than me. The issue is you're pretty much on the honor system and a bit of a guessing game. Hopefully the influence wasn't a large portion of your buyer's wealth. If anything though they might use it as a learning experience to be careful typing in bids. Well hopefully you find them, otherwise you can always donate the excess to a new player if you want to pay it forward.

I still count Pluto as a planet. The only reason Pluto wasn't included as a planet is because it hadn't cleared its orbit or planetary objects and debris. Given that qualification maybe the Earth shouldn't be a planet given all the space debris we have from satellites that hasn't been cleared.

I can't stress this enough. If you're interested in what's being worked on and would like to have a good opportunity for input, then joining the Gold Standard Testers group is the best thing you can do. The group doesn't bite, it's friendly and filled with knowledgeable people that want the game to succeed. There's no cost to people to join, and it's a pretty easy process that takes a couple days at most to get all the necessary permissions to actually test stuff out.

Skipping AS because of the long version root? Not sure why you're skipping your knockdown protection being a melee toon. You can always work in Kick and Jump Kick from fighting and Leaping for extra kicks if you need, although they aren't the strongest attacks you'll find.

Your post basically hid a build request under discussion a few paragraphs of text. You're likely to get more traction taking a stab at the build yourself and asking for feedback. Also having 3 pages of 50s, should have given you a reasonable understanding how powers interact and what slotting you've used, so you should have a reasonable understanding of building a character. I recently leveled up my 2nd /atomic blaster, and I find it useful to add a secondary means to keep mobs within Beta Decay's range so you can keep up that sweet recharge. That said psi blast has the longest unbuffed range in the game, so there's a bit of inverse synergy with the set choices. That said you can absolutely use the ranged attacks in melee as well.

I think I'd be a teleporting mind control/time manipulation controller. I probably wouldn't be a hero either, but probably a self serving rogue. Update: I was talking to a client today and they were being unreasonable and tossing out some obscenities. I thought about this post and figured it'd be great to be able to punch the guy, rewind time, stop myself from punching him, but use mind control to have him agree that the change orders for the project were unreasonable given the upcoming schedule for pubic hearings/not going to be approved, and have him apologize to the staff member he insulted. Otherwise the powersets would work great for negotiating contracts and my pay rate. But who am I kidding I'd probably be more diabolical and get into the political arena. I figure I can't be worse than the rest of the politicians we've had in recent years.
