  1. Time to enjoy ntue masses getting murdered by the minotaur from the safety of......
  2. Iirc, that was prior to Enhancement Diversification that came in i6 and served as a use case for why ED was necessary. @Duuk regarding your proposal, at end game there would be no difference, however it would likely affect game balance while leveling up. I'm not outright opposed to the suggestion, but I would want to see it in a testing environment before making a final recommendation as to whether the idea has or doesn't have merit IMO.
  3. WoW had PvP servers with open world PvP.
  4. As a retired PvPer, I have to say no to the idea here. Do you have any idea how much opposition we've had over the years even having the existing PvP zones? I can picture LFG, General, Help, the Forums, Discord talking about people ganking and griefing them. There's already some missions that send you to a version of an opposing zone and that's fine as is. *I recall a bug maybe 15 years or so ago that a villain was able to get to Atlas Park, and they couldn't do anything. Couldn't PvP, couldn't do missions, couldn't get back to the Rogue Isles. It took a GM to boot him back to Mercy.
  5. FF works with thugs, but IMO thugs benefits more from Time Manipulation. FF provides defense and mez protection for your pets. Time you can power boost Far Sight to give you and your pets a significant defense boost and tohit buff. Additionally you can heal your pets which you can't do with FF, and let's face it Thugs really benefits from high recharge builds due to how Gangwar works, so using Chronoshift helps you get your recharge to maximize Gangwar. That said Force Field is alright, but I would only choose it if that's what your concept is tied to.
  6. I fail to see any merit in the original suggestion and note that it would stifle the creativity of a player in how they create their characters by limiting character concepts. For those reasons, I vote /Jranger.
  7. There's no history. I was just wondering if the interaction could be reproduced as it seems like an odd interaction.
  8. I haven't seen a more true statement today. I swear every time I boot it back up I need to relearn how to play almost as there's some new massive update to it.
  9. Honestly I don't mind the KB in it as it's a form of mitigation. I like to wormhole mobs into a corner and have singularity bounce them back into the corner. That said I've been on the record for a an ability to swap most KB to KD without having an IO tax. One power though isn't that bad in gravity. And most people typically only slot one of the troller ATO sets, while Overpowering Presence is usually just slot the proc and move on.
  10. I wonder if reinstalling you are able to reproduce the issue? But then again you're on vacation so don't do that during the vacation. And remember to promptly delete it as well.
  11. Stone/spines tank = Rocky Prick. Costume is a boxer that looks like Sylvester Stallone.
  12. I believe for your standard 3.5ppm proc it was like a 13% chance to fire iirc. I haven't looked up the proc chance in a year or so.
  13. It honestly works pretty well for what it was designed for: providing protection against getting teleported by a player into a trap or a drone in a PvP area. Gotta remember that it's a PvP IO at heart, just that the unique defense aspect works pretty well in PvE as well.
  14. I think you might benefit from reading through the guides section and playing the game outside of the AE to increase your general information of the CoH environment. Regarding Ancillary and Patron Pools, every alignment can access the Ancillary pools available to them at lvl 35. At the same time, Villains and Rogues can start a mission in Grandville, which the game directs you to if you're alignment matches, that allows you to select one of Lord Recluse 's Lieutenants as a Patron (Mentor so to speak). The choices are Ghost Widow, Black Scorpion, Scirocco, and Captain Mako. The one you select sends you on a series of story arcs. The completion of the first story arc for each awards a badge and a free Respec which allows you access to any of the patron power pools (way back in the day it only opened the patron that you chose). When picking powers, when you choose a patron pool it is mutually exclusive with the others much like the Ancillary power pools. As a Vigilante, Rogue, or Villain, you can join someone else's mission running a patron unlock to unlock the pools on a character without running the whole arc yourself. But wait, you're a Hero? Then you can't. But you can either run alignment missions or speak to Null the Gull in Pocket D to change your alignment, and then you can. You can even unlock a patron power pool and then change back to hero. Pro tip, most players set their alignment to Vigilante or Rogue to get access to all the zones in the game. But yes most people farming take Mu for electric fences to group and immobilize mobs close to you, and also ball lightning for an extra AoE attack. Especially if the character farming is running an AT that doesn't have access to taunt or a punchvoke.
  15. I have two necro/darks I like to run together, been contemplating making a third. Otherwise I have 4 bots MMs but only three accounts so usually a bots/time, bots/elec, and bots/kin. I usually main the elec and alt tab to the others as necessary.
  16. Both primaries are great. Ice pairs types based defense with slow mitigation (chilling embrace). Chilling Embrace also reduces the damage potential of targets it affects. You can significantly add onto the -damage effect by getting darkest night from soul mastery. This helps the survivability of the whole team, and your friend that wants to try a support based toon could roll Rad Emission, Dark Miasma, Poison, or Trick Arrow to build off the -Damage effect as well. I have an Ice/Spines/Soul and a Ice/Savage/Stone tank at max level along with a bunch of other Ice Armor from other ATs. Between the two I prefer the Ice/Spines as the spines slow stacks with Ice's. Radiation armor pairs resistance and absorb, and really benefits from slow resistance. You can proc bomb rad therapy and ground zero as well and rotate meltdown, demonic, and melee core when you're an incarnate to allow more flexibility in proc slotting. For leveling up your friend that's going to play support could roll something like thermal or elec affinity to pair with you. I personally play Rad armor with SS using procs for when rage is down, and I have a Rad/DM that I made back in 2019 or so. Between the two I like SS better, otherwise I know some people that make great use of Rad/Axe and Rad/Fire tanks. The best part of playing with a group of friends is coordinating the teams complimentary powers.
  17. I can attest to the +HP being great. I discovered that as well a few months back when I rolled my fire/fire tank. It came in handy along with the end resistance on a +4 Freakshow Respec that we did for a TT a whole le back on Everlasting.
  18. Team based....roll a Corruptor. Ice or fire primary work really well for scourge. Secondaries to look at: cold, nature, thermal. That kind of character is also largely sought after for the higher tier hard mode content as well. Throw in flying and a single target hold and you've got a character for Hami as well. Corruptors also do decent damage.
  19. https://cmlawfirm.com/ignorance-of-law-is-not-an-excuse-unless-you-are-a-police-officer-by-bill-mitchell/#:~:text=It is axiomatic that ignorance, erroneous understanding of the law.
  20. I miss my 12 of so Fire Imps to this day.
  21. Yes the accuracy was lower due to it being an AoE from i1, but the recharge wasn't increased to 240 seconds base until i5 iirc. The devs made the recharge increase to supposedly balance out the damage bonus from the new inherent containment power.
  22. Don't sleep on /sonic. Nothing like casting a meteor, and running into a group to debuff them with Disruption Aura to make it hit harder then using deafening wave/upthrust on any survivors.
  23. <- 40 year old combat vet that has played since Beta. I play mostly on Everlasting, but dabble with some other servers for things like Tanker Tuesday, farming on a low pop servers, or occasionally goofing off on my own sandbox server. At this point I've probably forgotten more than some learn, but over the last couple of years since becoming a dad, I am a lot more casual then I used to be. You can feel free to hit me up, as I often volunteer time to help people understand IO interactions and build theory so they can make their own builds in Mids. Otherwise in-game I'm Grass in EverlastingTFs, and if I'm not running content I'm likely doing a TF, Hami raid, or if the stars align, some PvP.
