  1. I think that because it's only In Combat value we're talking about it's ok. You don't need EvM for travel purposes, you can do that just with slotting. Hover without EvM is still a very good pick.
  2. More numbers: Rough Live Caps ss 93 sj 78 (.83 run) fly 59 (.63 run, .75 jump) fly+ab 88 (.95 run, 1.12 jump) Rough Beta Caps ss 120 sj 102 (.85 run) fly ~93 (.78 run, .91 jump) Based on these numbers, I would have to say that always on AB was OP, justified only by how bad Fly was without AB. Both of these problems are fixed in beta.
  3. Regarding how much investment each pool requires in order to max it out, and again someone please correct me if I've missed something: SS must have 2 slots. SJ must have 2 slots. Fly may need 3 slots, or 2 slots with additional bonuses from sets or powers, or No slots with EvM. Teleport must have 3 slots (and theoretically also additional Range bonuses or Range buffing powers such as Boost Range or Clarion Radial). I'm not really sure if that's all good or not, but it seems mostly ok to me.
  4. Some more numbers. Someone please correct my math if I did this wrong. Rough Live Caps ss 93 sj 78 fly 59 Rough Beta Caps and Rough Percentage Increases ss 120 +30% sj 102 +30% fly 93 +58% (average over 90 seconds, Fly goes UP on shorter trips) Again, someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but if I'm right Fly is getting almost TWICE the buff the others are getting. EDIT: I think some of my numbers ARE wrong, so disregard while I look some stuff up. Ok, I see my error. My numbers are correct IF we ignore Live Afterburner. We can't fairly do that, but we can recognize that on Live flyers must take an additional power to get to their higher cap, on Beta they can do it just with slotting and no OAS. So I add another line: Live Fly+AB Cap is 88 Beta again is 93 (average over 90 seconds) approximately +6% So it IS fair to say that for actual travel (at least 90 seconds), Fly is getting a much smaller buff than the others IF you have AB on Live. However, that difference gets less and less as the trips get shorter. For a 30 second trip, Fly will actually be very slightly faster than SJ and will have been buffed. And of course if you DON'T have AB on live you are getting a BIG buff. In Combat speed of course Flight is getting a big buff and the others are getting nothing.
  5. Let's face it: Min/maxers are not going to invest another slot in their travel powers in order to have capped speed. Most people who weren't taking travel powers before still won't take them. Those of us who value travel as one of the most fun parts of the game are going to love these changes. Very few of us are bothered by a difference in time getting to missions measuring less than 30 seconds. I think these changes are great because they give people Options to go even faster if they want to invest the slots to do so. Someone else getting to the mission faster than you, while you get there faster than you used to, still means you got buffed not nerfed. Disliking the potential fiddliness of the server trays is valid, but again we have Options to get rid of it should we choose to do so. Fly will still be the most popular travel power even with the "increased disparity".
  6. I recommend testing in St Martial going from the Base Portal to Dead Man’s Tree (NW corner of the island. There’s a lot of crap in the way for SS to get by.
  7. Except the devs have responded, and they’ve said the same things that we’ve been saying, and you didn’t accept it from them either. There does seem to be some misunderstanding of what these threads are for. They are not for people who don’t like the changes to convince the devs to go in a completely different direction. They are to find out if there any problems with the changes, if there are bugs, if they work at all. “I don’t like it” is perfectly valid feedback but it is not a basis to change what they are doing. Actual data, showing a problem, it would be a basis to change what they are doing. Such as what happened with the original version of the changes to CJ, Ninja Run, etc, in Page 1.
  8. You can already do that in a respec at 50, that’s what they meant by “agnostic”.
  9. They’ve indicated that the additional powers are only for those travel abilities that need to be distinguished from each other: fly/mystic flight, super speed/speed of sound, super jump/mighty leap. Teleport and Infiltration are already distinct. If (when, I hope) they eventually implement Freerunning and Jetpack they will have something to distinguish them from Infiltration and Fly/Mystic Flight.
  10. Tbh the rp aspect is easy. If you’re magical then it’s spell. If you’re natural, tech, or science it’s a hologram provided by the cops. If you’re mutant it’s either a hologram or one of your abilities.
  11. In missions where we assume another identity (such as "Infiltrate the Skulls" in Eagle Eye's arc, or "Heather Townsend's Personal Story") it would be wonderful if we could keep our Inherent Fitness pool.
  12. First Ward/Night Ward Weeklies Ouroboros Weeklies shoot what else? I love the idea!
  13. You can, of course, turn off the extra tray, don't put the new AB on your bar, and you'll have the exact same playstyle as today, only it won't say OAS. Nothing will have changed for you. No one is forced to take advantage of the new options.
  14. I think it's pretty clear that Always On AB without OAS was never going to happen. You can have it Always On or you can have it without OAS but not both. Slotting Fly OR taking EvM lets you go at current Live AB speed always on AND without OAS, so basically you got what you're asking for.
  15. I was also not aware it was removed from pvp, but that’s not surprising since I don’t pvp.
  16. I am not aware that travel suppression was added just for pvp.
  17. They’re not comparable. EvM doesn’t actually let you fly at all. It improves the speed of your other flight powers.
  18. curious when the last time it may have been tried was...
  19. I assumed there would be some hard limits such as, perhaps: You can only select the power, not the slot, and it simply chooses the last slot added to that power. Any enhancement in the final slot in the power would be lost. Regarding the legality, I think in Homecoming we are able to add slots in respecs that we would not be able to when levelling. Such as 6-slotting our level 49 power. So I'm not sure what limits there would have to be in that regard.
  20. I think it probably should...it's certainly faster than CJ, CT, or Hover, especially slotted.
  21. I'm sorry if it has been mentioned, what about the idea of allowing global recharge to effect Afterburner?
