Why skip on one of the two AoEs you get?
-
Mentioned in the other thread, but Theft of Essence proc in Dark Regeneration was the biggest upswing for me in terms of end management back on Live when I had a /dark brute.

Recently I checked my blaster and she was squishier

What version of Mids? -
My take is as long as a melee set doesn't lose an AoE going from scrapper to stalker than the set is worth playing. How much AoE you need in the day and age of steamrolling Incarnate death machines is up to you. I'll also point out StJ is fantastic for stalkers.
-
It should. I think the biggest issue is managing endurance and recharge.
-
I think I would go with "All of the above." DM has lesser AoE currently so it isn't that great for farming, but I see no reason why it can't be made to solo AV/GMs. Rad/da could certainly farm with two damage auras. Again, I think any work on some level, but I would lean DM/bio or Rad/da depending on what you want your focus to be.

Is the Dominator Tremor Animation Shorter Than Brutes'?
Without_Pause replied to Killawar's topic in Brute
I haven't played mine in about a week, but it was the usual jump in the air type move and I don't consider it short, so unless that got changed, then I would say no. -
You can essentially name any build and it is going to have a weakness. Psy damage or a Sapper can make numerous builds pause.

Data is a bit old, but you can search for powers and see what percentage of players take them. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/fotm-powers/

At least you get the version of Kin where SB is a team buff. Not like us old school Kins who had to apply it on each team member. Fulcrum can also let you pass on Siphon Power a bit, but yeah, at the heart of Kin is not stop frenzied play style with lots of buffing. It is likely why I played so many of them in defender form on Live. I was a defender. I was suppose to buff. I had an old SG mate who's namesake was a Ice/kin controller. You will be waiting until epics to do any sort of real damage. Fulcrum could honestly feel a bit wasted on the build. If someone wanted an Ice corr with a controller feel, I would go Ice/dark corr. Tar Patch and drop those rains.

What are your "ignore" habits and why?
Without_Pause replied to Tahliah's topic in General Discussion
People who post ignorant stuff. One person would not let up on how Khelds sucked even with a PB on the team. I have seen another in General. Maybe more due to a pet peeve, but people who don't know how to run farms, ie they keep dying or they run maps with low level characters and using maps where mobs wonder. If you want to run farms and add people in, know your stuff. I know, my characters are getting PLed, but as an example today I had a character go from like 6 to 21. Me running on a lower diff setting dual boxing took a character from 1 to 27.8 using the same maps and that's before a level shift to +1. If I can get more XP for my guy running +2 versus you doing it +4, then I might as well just dual box. -
Update. This isn't 100% my common IO build on Live, but it is close and honestly a bit cleaned up. I literally had slots to toss around near the end so this can absolutely be played with even at this level. In some cases two level 50 commons will work well enough compared to three level 25 commons. If you are looking at rarer IOs on a super basic level, one Gladiator's Armor +3 Def and Steadfast Protection +3 Def into your Resist based powers put 5 out of the 7 types at 44% or higher Def. Neg would be 38% and Psy nearly 12%. Note, those numbers are based on level 25 IOs. I would also grab at a minimum the two ATO procs if not the full sets. Also, I was tossing around slots and not paying attention to what level I was adding them in, so add slots where and when you think you need them. All of my level 50s have common IO based builds. Only my stalker has some ATOs as I was comfortable with getting those. What I'm saying is, I'm old enough to remember doing AV runs without IOs or Incarnates.

Why can't I leave my base's entrance portal?
Without_Pause replied to MrSnottyPants's topic in Base Construction
I just came in to post about this. I moved the entry room to the middle of my grid so I could build around all sides of the entrance. Character gets stuck every time. There's nothing else in that room. There are only other rooms with the single block doorways connecting to the base. Oddly enough if you edit the base and move out of the entry point, and then exit the editor, you are fine. -
+1. A simple fix could be to rename TK to something like Mind Warp and have it be a AoE disorient. But yeah, I love Mind control as a powerset, but the times I would pick it over Plant is in theme alone. Mind has no pet, so it should to a default be better at control and damage, and I don't see it compared to Plant.

It also helps to know what you mean by "a lot of damage." Single target, AoE, both? Spines, Elec, and Rad do a lot of AoE, but are lacking or okay in terms of ST damage. As mentioned, Dark is great but is on the lower side for AoE. It also depends on what level range as some sets bloom later. For me the smoothest overall leveling sets 1-50 would be Claws or StJ. If you went stalker, then StJ would be an easy pick. Dark/wp might not have a lot of damage, but it would be damn near unkillable. Rad's heal is more inconsistent, but Rad/wp would also be sturdy with a bit more AoE. I wished Rad's animations were a bit better. There's honestly a number of good answers.

New to Blastering. Good pairing for a survivable toon
Without_Pause replied to Doc Ranger's topic in Blaster
Just got my Ice/atom to 25. Really liking the combo so far. Having that much recharge is nice. I can see why Fire/atom would be popular. -
What happened to Positive Gamer?

April Fools. He did post a new video running a costume contest so he's still around. He might have needed a break for whatever reason. -
What happened to Positive Gamer?
Without_Pause replied to Display Name's topic in General Discussion
My guess is the restriction on HC videos hurt his channel. I know he tried others, but he might have not found them up to par. -
I started on TB when it was the most popular but recently switched. I switched all of my characters to the same server as I prefer keeping them together. I mostly played on two servers on live, but I honestly tend to just stick to one these days. Partly because it is easier to have a crafting character who can dump IOs for other characters into a SG versus sending them in e-mails.
-
But are waiting until at least 26 to have what feels like a proper attack chain. That can be an issue with people who are new.
-
Just note WP doesn't have a damage aura so the farming aspect is on the lower side. Still a great set. I would honestly push Kat over WM for a new player since Kat is faster, hence more Fury and the attack chain comes together sooner, and DA further helps smooth the leveling process out. WM has mitigation and comes together in the end. I just think the curve for Kat is smoother. There was a lot of back and forth on if I wanted to go /wp or /elec when I rolled my Kat brute. I went /elec partly because I love damage auras on brutes, and I already have a level 50 /wp brute.

Why is seeded salvage increasing in price?
Without_Pause replied to Alpha Man's topic in General Discussion
This is why when you do a server transfer everything in the AH remains.
