  1. My computer is 10 years old. It's the same one I was using when COH was live. It works fine for my purposes. I cannot run full graphics, and must set particle count to minimum when I join teams or leagues. I do lag a little so end up corpse blasting when on teams. But I solo 99.9% of the time anyway. I still had a landline phone and no cell phone until 3 years ago when I switched the landline to cell. The phone cost me $40. I thought I might upgrade after a year, but since it still works, why. The only issue with it is sound quality. I've noticed that sound quality doesn't seem to be a defined thing or selling point on cell phones (or didn't last time I checked some time ago). My component stereo system I got in 1985. The 200-count CD player is a bit newer, though (maybe gotten in late '90s). I also drive a Corvette from 1996 (a Grand Sport convertible, now a collector's item), and my "beater" Corvette is from 2003. I do plan on selling both any time now to get a newer used Corvette (2017-2019), someday. (man, those things have gone up in price, about 10K since last spring when I first started looking) I finally got my first flat screen TV (70") about five years ago, right before the "smart" models came out (dang it). I cut cable TV, but kept internet access so no dial-up for me. I don't stream anything, just view TV via OTA (over-the-air). I was expecting just the local network stations and a few indie's, but much to my surprise there's a movie channel, a sci-fi channel, a western channel, of course lots of home shopping channels now blocked, but no sports channel that are OTA. All those extra channels show reruns of course. I've learned to appreciate some of the older movies ('20s - '40s) from both TMC (when I had cable) and now the OTA movie channel (Movies!). I've looked at streaming services and find I might like one or two of the new shows. meh. Cheaper to wait and buy the season's DVD, which I still don't do. I do have a blue-ray DVD player bought only a couple years ago. I run all these on potatoes. Does that make me a luddite? BTW, one of those statements above is a lie. 😄 edit: added specifics on cell phone, and, I don't know why I rambled on after the first paragraph. *shrug*
  2. Alternate looking inspirations: candy bars, chip bags, cigarettes (boo!), sodas, energy drinks, etc? I'm game. (altho that could be a 3rd-party mod) name ideas: "Giggles" candy bar, "Soaring" energy drink, "Shivan" gummi bears, "Stheno" jerky, "Slate" rock candy, "Yin Yang" chips... 😄
  3. I've already made suggestions about street sweeping. The main one was newspaper/radio-like repeatable missions but from a police officer contact in each zone. It could even be from the same ones that you contact about newspaper/radio missions. Or, it could be a wanted poster on the bulletin board inside the police station, but I wouldn't want to go into the police station each time and also would require map editing which may be more effort than it's worth (so strike this last suggestion, but I'll keep it mentioned just in case someone thinks it has merit.. the poster board could be outside the station.. even the tram station). I would keep the count down to about 10-20, depending on if the target is just bosses or any of a particular group. Or, each level is worth more, for example minion=1, lieutenant=2, boss=3. A 300-count mission would be quite a chore. Even going for the 100 Outcast boss badge I hunt for in Steel I can only handle in smaller chucks before it seems like work. Unless your aim is for team/league play but I doubt teams would bother with that. It could be an optional mission no one ever has to take, but I'd lower to to about 100. These aren't epic level missions. One thing about street sweeping is that you can choose the terrain to some extent. There's no maze-like offices, blue/purple caves, or Oranbega hallways to navigate, or have to search every nook and cranny of said maps. And you get the grateful praise of saved civilians, at least on blueside (redside has deadinside civilians 😄 ).
  4. My F key is to activate/deactivate Fly power. I never follow as that takes some control away and turns it over to some stupid AI.
  5. You're wrong on all counts. Maybe MOST people don't wander around most zones, but I do and I see others (I take a second look just to be sure I ain't seeing things :D) in those zones as well. At certain levels (okay, mostly in the teens) you can get a fair amount of XP street sweeping. In Steel I can "swat" an outcast boss and gain a whole experience bar. I'll admit that once I get to 30 then street sweeping becomes more of a chore and I've found that Brickstown and Founders' Falls is less appealing for that, despite FF's aesthetic which I do like. Might be due to the mobs one has to fight. Whacking snipers is fun, though. For invasions I go to out of the way places. All the graphics of league play tax my older computer, although I do turn down the graphics settings when I do join a league.
  6. Now I'll never look at them the same ever again.
  7. If no one goes into a zone, do the Rikti still invade it? 🤫 I avoid the zombie invasions, the XP for those is terrible. XP for the others is okay (bombs are delicious XP). I prefer to fight them by myself, being a soloist, so I like the less used zones when invaded. At times I like to get the regular street mobs to fight the invaders so I wait by a few. Warrior Lts beat the crap out Rikti. One issue I have is that the spawns are always NE of you. Didn't they use to spawn in any direction around you?
  8. They're not any better at soloing than blasters, stalkers, scrappers, or MM, all are the main ATs I play. I've played Sentinels, they are lacking and I do think it's their special that is to blame. That special is good against a target that lasts awhile (AVs), but isn't all that great when solo. I much prefer the damage boost over the heal. The heal is too little. I love snipe powers and Sentinels not having one means I'll roll a new blaster again and again before I ever play another sentinel.
  9. But that means he has to put in some effort to lift a pinkie. 😉
  10. I'm going with the Shadow Shard as written and used is.. not good. So much empty space with some of the same enemies we've fought before. The Rularu thingies are meh. Good for one zone perhaps, but let's change it up for the other samey-same zones. zzzzz Perhaps whatever god mind it is supposed to be develops a "brain cloud" and that's how the Battalion is trying to get to us (or they made it)? 😉 (plus moon base.. we must have a moon base)
  11. That deserves another badge, say "Underfoot" 😄 .
  12. I'd hate to have a Reveal power I cannot control. I use Reveal on zone maps after I've gotten all the explore badges and visited all the historical plaques in the zone to let me know if I've done so on that map.
  13. The fog in Perez Park is really at a distance and doesn't much effect Perception. Maybe it shortens Perception range a tiny bit, which this power as I described would offset that, but that fog never seemed to be an issue especially in the twisty maze. I like the green fog of Perez, it adds atmosphere. Sometimes I do want it to be a little denser, just not on the level of former DA. Besides, once you leave the foggy area then the power as you described would have no effect at all.
  14. addendum: yeah, I forgot redside I don't recall any designated parks on redside, but I do remember forested and copses of trees on the north side of Cap while hunting the electric gremlins so those areas could be designated as day job areas for this badge. Port Oakes is probably more level equivalent to Perez but I don't recall much trees at all in PO.
  15. I made no such claim. I would like to hear a reason. Several of you are putting words into other people's post.
  16. I solo. There's no CC with my playing. That's a BS reason anyway.
  17. Broken? How? Devs haven't given a reason because there's no good reason.
  18. None come to mind, I don't worry about those powers as their effects are small and short lived. (thinking) Perception range increase? When in the woods one has to watch out for lions and tigers and bears. 😄
  19. You earn the Park Warden badge by logging out of the park area in Perez Park (for the same amount of time as other Day Job badges).
  20. Mr. Spiderpants is our hero and savior?
  21. Thanks. Those years (early 60s) were my "formative" years with cartoon watching so that's why Brutus ("boooo!") sticks as the villains name more so than the Bluto ("boooo!"). I do picture Brutus whenever brutes are mentioned in the forums and chat. 😄
  22. Oh. Never mind. 😉 Seriously, I was disappointed that there are not numerous death trap visuals in the game. All are just some bad people standing next to the victim who is in some victim-emote stance. 😞 (edit) Well, except for COT's victims floating in green smoke and on redside a Family member wearing a cement bucket as shoes (I still chuckle when seeing the latter). P.S. I don't care for brute playstyle, I'll stick to scrappers and stalkers.
  23. But Brutes is bad as he always kidnaps Olive Oyl, who loves Popeye, so when she rejects Brutes he puts her in some death trap, like tying her to the train track in front of an approaching train.
  24. But I've been waiting for Killer-Diller* Zoot Suits to come to an MMO for so long... * a young Malcom X's description according to Wikipedia, P.S. Hah.. I can see a Family member bragging about his new zoot suit in some mission, and being laughed at by other Family members.
