  1. I've been playing /elec blasters a long time on live and here on HC and i always used to take ice/mace epic/patrons for s/l/ranged defences and tons of recharge but i'm finding it a lot more survivable if you go for 45% ranged and 75% s/l resist. Playing in melee a lot even if your jousting in and out with combat jump you can find yourself massively debuffed very quickly. I die a lot less with a resist shield which makes playing it more enjoyable even if it means dumping all the recharge i had with a def shield. With /elec you can squeeze in the 2 ff+rech pieces in thunder strike and handclap and that seems like just about enough. I still take hasten but with all the ranged def bonuses and s/l res bonuses from sets there's almost nowhere to fit recharge bonuses so the nuke/end drain tools aren't up anywhere near as fast but being alive is higher dps than being dead. And if you've been playing for ages and are getting on in years you may not be as fast on the keyboard as you were 😛
  2. I have a few martial blasters, rad/ma is my most played it just feels right sitting in melee spamming irradiate/burst of speed/dragons tail everything gets def debuffed and knocked down its one of the lazy ma toons i don't feel the need to be hopping about teleporting in and out of combat.

    Ice/Plant

I played one for a while it was one of the more enjoyable combo's i made a lazy ice/plant/soul hover blaster running the immob/cones and holds its not a fast killer but it is a lot of fun.
  4. I haven't posted any for months and lost my old builds so i'll just point you to this: Build Request - Spines/Fire NON FARMER - Brute - Homecoming (homecomingservers.com)
  5. If you take the time to scroll through the archtype forums theres usually a build with something close to what your looking for. I messed about with one earlier its been respecced 3-4 times since and i'm not the only one that posted bots/rad build it took me about 50 seconds to find 2 other posts with builds in. Mines somewhere on here when i was messing about with the fly pool for soloing gm's (probably won't open with the new mids but you can see how they got slotted) : Robots/Rad build help - Mastermind - Homecoming (homecomingservers.com)
  6. Mind/Psi/Psi Build - Dominator - Homecoming (homecomingservers.com) Posted a build way back when at the bottom of the page probably won't open with new mids but something to look at. They look really old can you tell i'm not a massive fan of domi's 😛

  11. Being annoyed at seeds feels like being annoyed at a blaster's nova because... would be true if the blasters nova was up every 5-7 seconds. Seeds is up every mob. It doesn't annoy me none of the powersets do at least not half as much as the energy blaster or stormy that feels free to knockback everything on the map with no regard for the rest of the team. As to finding good tanks its becoming more and more the case that tanks are building towards dps and even more of them think taunt is a skippable power that if they just jump in a mob there job is done. How many times do you see them aggro the entire map stand next to the team and expect them to handle all the spill over aggro when they have no way to taunt enemies off the squishies or think 'punchvoke' is enough. I've stood next to av's on soldiers/widows/shield scrappers knowing the tank won't hold the aggro because all they are doing is clicking footstomp and have no taunt. I don't blame them there so many posted builds on forums if your looking for something it probably won't have taunt in the build and with so many different AT's being capable of tanking/soloing everything in game now there may not be a need for it. I love that HC brought the game back to us but within a week i heard complaints about the changes made because everything was made to be soloed and i just thought can't you just be happy the games back. Anyway Seeds is just one of those powers you need to be considerate with the same way you would be with something like Gale. Its never the power thats the problem its usually the player using it and i just figure its either lack of experience with it or they are just old pro's who can handle anything which is the reason i'll jump past the mob they hit. I love that Xiddo will take the time to ask the other team members thats the sort of consideration i really appreciate when teaming.
  12. Pretty sure i teamed with you on a morti kal a few days ago but it was one of those speed runs where your so busy moving as fast as you can i didnt get a chance to see how your build played . I want to love experimentation but i keep taking it and dropping it although i quite like toxic dart as a filler on toons like controllers that don't have much st stuff and i don't mind the wait for the toxic tics. Corrosive vial went out the window on several builds unless i had an immob for it. I prefer sorcery for rune on soldiers when i can even if all i use it for is a set mule. I also always take musculature they really need the help single target-wise for damage and if your running ageless anyway.... I don't 6 slot spiders bite, 4 pieces and 2 procs usually does me. You have a blessing and a karma slotted, from playing i see 0 difference between 4 points kb prot and 8. its 4 points or 10+ for me. I'm still annoyed the galaxy enemies in moonfire put out mag 9.72 kb cones and can bounce you when its set to a high rep and its such a low level tf. How many low level toons have room for multiple kb enhances 😛 CT: Offensive when you have the full gaussians and leadership running- would assault not be better when you already have all your attacks slotted with so much accuracy. Theres no doubt you playtested your widows/soldiers way beyond what i would i have too much altitis and i don't number crunch so i probably have no idea whats necessary for the really tough stuff just some thoughts.
  13. Yup as i said its got nothing to do with xp/inf although as dread alludes to time is always a factor when you take seeds into account. Not everyone playing wants to speed through everything as fast as possible and most don't run things simply for drops/inf...a lot of players you will see around are there to team and your original question was what are peoples thoughts on teaming with toons running seeds. I feel like most running those types of toons may as well be soloing the tf, the rest of the team are just there to clean up whats left and help out at the av's. Its just a feeling from recent tf's run with plant domis and controllers when the team leader is asking them to hold up and wait for the rest of the team. Its different for everyone...now that your playing one do you feel the need to be the first person to every mob so you can hit it with seeds before the rest of the team arrives? If you only have an hours game time/day due to RL stuff then you generally find players want to run speed stacks in record time for rewards/drops/inf as fast as possible in which case those players appreciate some fast active play and seeds really helps out there. If you find yourself on a team of players looking to kill every mob together old school style coh where everyone participates and nobody is rushing through then you'll find people complaining if your running ahead throwing seeds out before the rest of the team arrives or they just end up bypassing those mobs entirely. I like to check out everyones builds before teaming starts to see what they are running and how powered/over powered it will be and try to play in a way that helps out the weaker toons and just let the stronger ones get on with it. If i see a toon running seeds i automatically assume they can solo everything they come across with no help and stick with other members of the team buff/heal/take aggro for them instead.
  14. I dislike teaming with domi/troller running plant but its not an xp/inf issue its more the seeds-immob-creepers combo pinning everything before the mob has a chance to bunch together and get hit by the rest of the team. I end up watching the melee toons running about trying to single target enemies pinned out of range while the troller/domi has already left the mob to hit the next one. When you team with them you feel like your just there on clean up duty to finish up whats left of a couple of bosses/mob it just isn't fun and its why i stopped playing mine. You could run ahead and hit mobs alone but then you may as well be playing solo. Teaming with plant/domi trollers feels like that. They may as well be soloing everything while you wander along behind them. Its a lot like teaming with a high dps toon that runs ahead wiping maps/speeding through and then you get to the av and they throw out assemble the team because its the only part of the tf they can't handle solo.
  15. I think i went the usual route of BP, alpha slot fixed end issues and dehydrate is part of the attack chain its a really fun combo. Low level content i run recovery serum and some empowerment buffs when i remember to pop into base and top them up. Phantoms are a good idea i'll have to look at those i haven't taken them on anything other than ill trolls since live when there wasn't many to choose from.

Any chance of seeing a data chunk for the latest version of mids?
  17. I downloaded the newest version of mids and its still not letting me open either of the above builds i get the unable to recognise message. With the above build i see a lot of sets 6 slotted but can't tell if they are for specific bonuses. I wouldn't bother 6 slotting time crawl and your running hover so you could dump the steadfast kb in charged armr. 4 points is usually enough if you can't get 10 in the build then an extra 4 points won't make any difference. I should of slotted the overwhelming and and explosive strike proc in assault bot it makes all the difference. Not sure i would skip slotting some accuracy in slowed response. And i'm only seeing 2 of the pet pieces in the build that offer def/res etc they make a big difference even on /time mm's. Try to build enough recharge into the build to dump agility for musculature/intuition radial the pets need all the extra damage they can get especially when you hit +4 mobs and the -to hit/- def help loads although i get agility if your chasing perma chrono. If you don't mind giving up some set bonuses you can get some really interesting slotting in distortion field and time stop with some of the hold damage pieces.I haven't played mine in a while it really needs an overhaul i got a bit carried away with necro mm's right now but i'll get back to it eventually.
  18. Its a great combo although i still prefer /dark (probably because i don't have to worry about a non-existent blue bar so much) and i still go for a slotted gale for the low level tf's when i have no decent powers. I also took hurricane although i'm not sure why i don't think i ever turned it on. Not really happy with my current build even though it seems to do whats required. Went for 45% ranged def and never got there and have some really awful slotting in some powers just to chase a defence i couldn't reach. Theres a lot of stuff just thrown in for recovery and hp bonuses that aren't needed. The more i play my mm's on HC the more i'm coming round to the idea of proc slotting as much as possible and ignoring softcap's to take more interesting/fun epic/patron powers. Taking a good single target attack from the mm primary and an immob and hold from a patron make a huge difference to the playstyle and help out your damage a lot which it didn't on live because you can go all out procs in them and they fire off loads. I see a lot of good changes coming up for mm's and while i originally felt mm primary attacks were a complete waste i now look at them in a different way. Anyway here's the current build cardiac/reactive/barrier/support. As it stands i can pretty much spam gale on mobs and drop the pseudo pets on them so defence becomes irrelevant i'm looking at a different options in mids for a respec right now: This Villain build was built using Mids Reborn 3.0.4.7 https://github.com/Reborn-Team/MidsReborn NECRO STORM: Level 49 Magic Mastermind Primary Power Set: Necromancy Secondary Power Set: Storm Summoning Power Pool: Speed Power Pool: Leaping Power Pool: Fighting Power Pool: Leadership Ancillary Pool: Field Mastery Villain Profile: ------------ Level 1: Zombie Horde SvrRgh-Acc/Dmg(A), SvrRgh-PetResDam(7), SlbAll-Build%(7), SlbAll-Dmg(9), SprMarofS-Dmg/EndRdx(9), SprMarofS-EndRdx/+Resist/+Regen(11) Level 1: Gale FrcFdb-Rechg%(A), SuddAcc--KB/+KD(11), Dtn-Acc/Dmg/EndRdx(13), PstBls-Acc/Dmg/EndRdx(13), Ann-Acc/Dmg/EndRdx(15) Level 2: O2 Boost DctWnd-Heal/EndRdx/Rchg(A), NmnCnv-Heal/EndRdx/Rchg(15), Prv-Heal/Rchg/EndRdx(21) Level 4: Super Speed BlsoftheZ-Travel/EndRdx(A), BlsoftheZ-ResKB(47) Level 6: Enchant Undead EndRdx-I(A) Level 8: Life Drain Thn-Acc/Dmg(A), Thn-Dmg/EndRdx(23), Thn-Dmg/Rchg(23), Thn-Acc/Dmg/Rchg(25), Thn-Acc/Dmg/EndRdx(25), Thn-Dmg/EndRdx/Rchg(34) Level 10: Steamy Mist RedFrt-Def/EndRdx(A), RedFrt-Def/Rchg(42), RedFrt-EndRdx/Rchg(43), RedFrt-Def/EndRdx/Rchg(43), RedFrt-Def(43), RedFrt-EndRdx(46) Level 12: Grave Knight SprMarofS-Dmg(A), SprMarofS-Acc/EndRdx(37), SprCmmoft-Dmg/EndRdx(37), SprCmmoft-Acc/Dmg(40), AchHee-ResDeb%(42), TchofLadG-%Dam(42) Level 14: Hasten RechRdx-I(A), RechRdx-I(21) Level 16: Freezing Rain Rgn-Dmg/Rchg(A), Rgn-Dmg/EndRdx(17), AchHee-ResDeb%(17), TchofLadG-Rchg/EndRdx(19), TchofLadG-%Dam(19) Level 18: Soul Extraction ExpRnf-Acc/Rchg(A), ExpRnf-Acc/Dmg(47), ExpRnf-Dmg/EndRdx(48), ExpRnf-Acc/Dmg/Rchg(48), ExpRnf-EndRdx/Dmg/Rchg(48), ExpRnf-+Res(Pets)(49) Level 20: Hurricane EndRdx-I(A) Level 22: Combat Jumping LucoftheG-Def/Rchg+(A) Level 24: Kick Empty(A) Level 26: Lich SprMarofS-Acc/Dmg(A), SprMarofS-Acc/Dmg/EndRdx(27), CaltoArm-Acc/Dmg(27), CaltoArm-Dmg/EndRdx(33), CaltoArm-+Def(Pets)(34), EdcoftheM-PetDef(34) Level 28: Tough HO:Ribo(A), StdPrt-ResDam/Def+(29), GldArm-3defTpProc(29) Level 30: Weave RedFrt-Def/EndRdx(A), RedFrt-Def/Rchg(31), RedFrt-EndRdx/Rchg(31), RedFrt-Def/EndRdx/Rchg(31), RedFrt-Def(33), RedFrt-EndRdx(33) Level 32: Dark Empowerment EndRdx-I(A) Level 35: Tornado SlbAll-Dmg/Rchg(A), SlbAll-Dmg/EndRdx(36), SuddAcc--KB/+KD(36), SprCmmoft-Dmg/EndRdx/Rchg(36), SprCmmoft-Rchg/PetAoEDef(37) Level 38: Lightning Storm SprWntBit-Acc/Dmg(A), SprWntBit-Dmg/Rchg(39), SprWntBit-Acc/Dmg/EndRdx(39), SprWntBit-Acc/Dmg/Rchg(39), SprWntBit-Dmg/EndRdx/Acc/Rchg(40), SuddAcc--KB/+KD(40) Level 41: Temp Invulnerability HO:Ribo(A) Level 44: Maneuvers RedFrt-Def/EndRdx(A), RedFrt-Def/Rchg(45), RedFrt-Def(45), RedFrt-EndRdx(45), RedFrt-EndRdx/Rchg(46), RedFrt-Def/EndRdx/Rchg(46) Level 47: Tactics EndRdx-I(A) Level 49: Snow Storm EndRdx-I(A) Level 1: Brawl Empty(A) Level 1: Sprint Empty(A) Level 1: Supremacy Level 2: Rest Empty(A) Level 2: Swift Empty(A) Level 2: Health Mrc-Rcvry+(A), Pnc-Heal/+End(3), NmnCnv-Regen/Rcvry+(3) Level 2: Hurdle Empty(A) Level 2: Stamina PrfShf-End%(A), PrfShf-EndMod(5), EndMod-I(5) Level 1: Zombie Level 12: Grave Knight Level 26: Lich ------------ | Copy & Paste this data into Mids Reborn : Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1388;683;1366;HEX;| |78DA6593CB4F135114C6EF4CA7227D50A03CA594B68085021535710906441343815| |0445D91A61D4A93BE6C4B84A50BFF0137AE7CAE1010E3CAB589C618E35FA0D144E3| |C244055FEB7A9CEFD39230E9F43773CEB9E77EDFB96D6CED8C6BE7DCB571A5354E6| |613E5F2522C51AE98A55C269FB2C712E94CD2A69472CE4C4DCECF06E20BB3F3B13A| |79F7D58A96E2ABB95C211F9D3193A5422E914FAEF7EC4B4EAC2E2F47E3954229C7B| |A4C3EAD1C738542361A2F9A66CA653D4E9B89A224DCD6CBD94C7AA5226F9E7FA994| |592AAF648ACD53C54C52B26636458DEB1D222524F7865DBE34B955D5AEF604C70D7| |5E83739A95B3C3C465E302C3A2E834543F1AA1AEA3A6A1C1F91733D460FD713B0E1| |93CDE21583DBA9AAAECD68C82D802D5F50D32B73B2A146B3BD41DFE85B7053F4DA9| |153F6207A6F49A00E317BDD2DC4DA6E9377C08EBBE43D30781F2C8B9E7AFAAF7740| |C7A0138CB84837D9008E78C06DD9D7C9B5CE05F8EEBB483E8797F03370F0A9E8F70| |A5FC3474804BBB156730F414B0B5991161EE40CCF49D4379E22D9A7F915DE9BD9EF| |A16869E20C9A7639B33DF0D877F207F9131CFD05AECA7E5ECED4CB99B689BE56685| |0ADADF0AB4BAC9D75ED55B9D48EECDAC95D3B17E1FCC825F29D74EF3654E03D18FC| |407E96F2B0A16CD2AD0B3BE85D6302C3A67CED9A55E33B81A91952D3CD0977F374F| |C3C1D3F4FC7CFD309F074023C9D47A2AD876A7BE8EAAA480B71B2A171B8EF9D20F9| |CBED7D81BDFB5E826B12EEA7C7FE0DD41C7D406E925B60789B64AFB946A50638C50| |17A6C124F43F434444FC3F4344C0FC3F430428F23F4E895B551F68BD25349B61AA5| |CF51C67CB57FA67CFE9ED4F48148AC16A9CED5FE954AB3B25F1D12D1F647766B115| |D3BAF5967A80731237D11FABE1D58B5B77FD54D4CDAB84106A0762C5253322ECF4E| |3E9F8EFCFF7555FF00C1AAD7F5| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
  19. Thats a great idea but you'd have to lower dark consumptions recharge to match DP and then add regen/absorb its hard to see that happening and what happens to touch of the beyond. Wishful thinking but it would make it so much more playable.
  20. I haven't played this combo so not sure i'll be much help i have an energy/time i don't touch and i played an energy/energy on live but i realise now how much i hate knockback so unless your going full on 1 shot kills its really annoying on teams. Solo its great fun you can blast away to your hearts content nobody's gonna complain if you stick that mob halfway into a wall and can't get it 😛 First up Charged Armour. Its not in the same ballpark as Scorp Sd its not even in the same galaxy. Afterburner-if you take fly and skip this you may as well drop fly for mystic flight and the same awful fly speed...at least til next update. Smoke nade offers tiny - to hit and tiny dmg buff, handy on devices which doesnt have build up but if you skip it i doubt you'd notice if your running hover blaster with 45% defence. Should you 6 slot your attacks with the same set-short answer is no unless you need that 6th bonus for a specific part of your build. For example the 6th bonus in apocalypse set gives psi defence. If thats the only bonus you have giving that type of defence then its pretty much wasted. I've seen a lot of good energy blasters being played doing great damage but i havent seen the builds. If you plan to hover blast then you'd want at least 45% ranged in which case you can get away with any def/resist epic/patron they don't even need to be turned on all your ranged defence bonuses come from your sets bonuses. Problem with energy is your doing kb and if you start slotting sudden acc pieces for kb/kd you miss out on that ranged def bonus your chasing. So your stuck with kb. i threw this in mids its tiny bit shy of 45% but if you boost def bits you'd probably hit it. Its just for ideas i wouldn't plan on using it-for hover blasting your aim should be 45% ranged and as much s/l resist as you can get. 21. I made a fire/dark a while back mostly because i love dark melee and damage auras. Softcapped it with mace to s/l/e/f/c which didn't leave a lot of recharge for soul drain but it let me melee the attacks i wanted smite/midnight grasp/death shroud. I realised why i didn't like /dark on blasters, every other secondary the +regen/recovery/absorb etc is a toggle even the new /elec dynamo is better than the /dark one. Its a clicky and while it may have a decent range on it i'm playing in melee anyway and felt like it would be much better as some sort of melee attack but thats not the biggest problem-i'm lazy and it needs monitoring so i tend to overclick it which slows down the dps. Unlike every other dark melee toon it feels lacking somehow possibly because you get used to smite/siphon life/midnight grasp combo and here you are with the wimpy touch of the beyond and its duration is......pitiful. Try remembering to click that every 11-12 seconds and you'll be wishing for any other secondary. It seriously hampers your attack chain.
  22. Mine been through about 8 respecs and i'm still not happy. Looking at this right now but the only time i enjoyed mine was when i had the tier 1 and soul mastery in as well and that left it so weak defensively it was pitiful. 23. And throw an ff+rech in jolting for low level content you won't find yourself spamming gale against single target bosses/av's.
  24. One of the first toons i made, loved it. Dumped gremlins you can't stop the knockback no matter how you slot them and the last thing you want is enemies outside melee range, everything close should be asleep/drained of end. Defence matters. Conductive aura can heal you pretty fast in mobs especially if you throw some heal in there and its all you have. You can toe to toe av and gm with this combo but you'll need the fighting pool at least. 2nd Miss Lib tf i was on i saw someone running one of these and we had no tank and they took care of Lord Recluse while we hit the towers. Wish i'd seen that build. If your going for proc heavy 0 defence build you'll have tons of fun teaming but might struggle solo especially if your running your rep high.
  25. Your right antidote is purely there for the unbreakable set i could swap in a kinetic combat set in kick but i'd use that even less than antidote....probably. I don't think i've used antidote yet tbh either and i usually throw an ff+rech in kick in case i get hit with slows. Elixir is there for the same reason but at least thats semi useful.
