I had a Claws/Reg as well, unfortunately, I just haven't been able to adjust to it since they changed IH. Maybe I should give it a try again. How many years has it been since I4, lol? I do plan on making a Sav/Wp brute, but it will have to wait until after this project, and my first ever Stalker are complete. Damned Altitis, flaring up again.

Probably because it's such a small percentage. It's 1% Personally I 3 slot Cleaving Blow for the 1.25% E/NE def, and then 3 slot Eradication to get another 3.13% def to E/NE, Gives me almost 5% def to E/NE and decent stats in the power itself.

Justin appears to be down, still. I'll keep my eye on it though.

Thinking of rolling my first Homecoming Scrapper...
Gobbledygook replied to biostem's topic in Scrapper
No problem. Another idea for staff that I have, you can feel free to take if it interests you, Staff/Bio. Toxic Avenger. Just not sure if the have a mop option for the staffs. Well, have fun in the City. -

Every time I see the title to this thread, it makes me want to go and listen to Metallica!!! -
Thanks for the reply. What are the best powers to slot the ATO in? I believe I read in here that the Stalkers Guile should go in Assassins Strike? Is that right? What about the other set, another longish recharge that the recharge makes better? Say original cool down was 12 seconds, but with global cool down (hasten, sets) it's down to 6 seconds?

I'm interested in this as well, as I'm thinking of rolling my first Stalker. I already have a Elec/Sd Scrapper, but with a supposedly superior st attack chain, I wouldn't mind rolling it over again.

Thinking of rolling my first Homecoming Scrapper...
Gobbledygook replied to biostem's topic in Scrapper
I haven't played staff yet, mostly because I can't make a convincing Donatello costume, but I have made Stj. And boy is it fun! It's kind of a mix between an MMA and dirty street fighting. It looks great, sounds very visceral, and feels like it delivers the pain well. As a matter of fact, I have Pines up right now working on my first stalker. He's probably going to be Street Justice. It pairs well with just about any armor set/ Stj/Sr=Daredevil or Spiderman Stj/Sd=Captain America Stj//Wp=Punisher Stl/Nin=Batman Well, you get the idea. -
Thinking of rolling my first Homecoming Scrapper...

My opinion is that Staff sometimes sounds like someone is hammering on something. When teaming, on occasion, I'll think my neighbor has started another project next door, only to find out there is a Staff user on the team. -
As the thread title states, this will be my first serious attempt at a Stalker. I tried one when they first released on CoV, but I wasn't a fan of the playstyle. As I understand it, there have been some changes to how they are played, mostly due to ATO's? Is that right? Anyway, I wanna give it a real go this time. I love Brutes and Scrappers, I wanna like Stalkers to. So, where do I begin, what do I think is fun in this game? I mostly run with PuG's and do TF's. I like trying to solo AV's. I've never really enjoyed PvP, but my only experience with that was as a Scrapper or Brute in Zone PvP. Not fun at all. Which powersets to choose from? I don't really have a preference. I know I'd like to have some AoE capability. I already have an Elec/Sd Scrapper, but as I understand it, Stalkers have a superior ST chain, so I may be open to that combo again. Only thing I'd like to try and stay away from would be Regen and Bio. Any tips for building a Stalker I should know? Take tp so I'm helpful on teams? What about stealth, I've seen some stalker builds with it here in the forums, is it necessary to stack stealth with hide?
-
Anybody think that's what they're doing with rage now? Tearing it down and rebuilding from the ground up? That's what we did in the Army. From basic training to S.O.P.'s(standard operating procedures). Maybe they're working on fixes before the port?

My wife bought me a new computer, just so I could play this on the highest settings. I think she likes me.

What are advantages of scrapper over stalker?
Gobbledygook replied to KadillTheFirst's topic in Scrapper
I picture a tiny WB cartoon character sneaking around with a ridiculously large mallet behind its back when I think of stalkers with titan weapons. +1 Inf for you, good sir. -
I laugh every time I watch that cutscene. And at what you said. +1 Inf to you, sir.

This was my Em/Wp build. It was something I already had made, just needed a few adjustments. I of course swapped out Em for SS, did not get Hurl or Hand Clap, as those are powers I respecc'ed out of on my own SS brute. It is softcapped to S/L without Agility alpha, but just barely, and of course WP has no DDR. I'm going Vigor Core Paragon, it puts my regen at a nice comfortable 752%, and that's on top of 71.8% S/L Res. I'm sure someone else could probably do better, as I'm no expert, but I tinkle here and there. Hero Plan by Mids' Hero Designer 2.22 http://www.cohplanner.com/ Click this DataLink to open the build! Yeah, my Main is a FM/Inv brute that MarcusSmythe helped hammer out the final build, so not sure if I'd want to go FM again. It's been a loooooong time since I've touched Dm. Just need some AoE in there somehow. Btw, like your sig

I can't speak intelligently about sorcery, as I have never used it. As far as unstoppable goes, most people build there toons to where it is a skippable power now. Well, most tier 9's in the armor sets are. My main, FM/Inv, has softcap to S/L/E/N and close to it on F and C, as well as nearly capped res on S/L damage. I'm truly invulnerable to just about everything in the game. Psionics, I know to pay attention, I can't just faceroll them, and /Rad users (Banished Pantheon) I make priority targets, as they can debuff my def. Back on the live servers, I picked up unstoppable, just to give it a try. When it crashed, I lost my end, almost all of my health, and the Lt. that was still alive finished me off. The thing was, I was no more durable while unstoppable was up! Maybe a little, but it wasn't worth the power pick. I did the same thing with elude on a /SR scrapper. Elude made me faster, but I was still being hit by the AV, and died. Not worth a power pick to me. I took Pyre mastery because it worked with my characters theme, and because I wanted a second AoE, FIREBALL!! I love it. Unfortunately, I never use char, it's range is to short to pull or to grab a runner, you're better off smackin them with your sword. Melt Armor is good on an AT that is meant to debuff, but on a Brute, it is very, meh. Someone else will have to explain the maths, math makes my head hurt.

You guys are making me want to play a /Sr character...
-
The argument that Spidey is not a Super Strength scrapper is bull. Remember when Otto took over his body, and fought Scorpion? Not holding back? He knocked the mans jaw off, in one hit. Tell me that's not super strength.

I plan on doing the Patreon thing, but it will have to wait a couple of days.

I believe Arcanaville suggests to build for around 47-49% to have a buffer. Incarnate softcap however is 59% however. A lot of folks say it's unnecessary to build that high though, as any I-trial will have plenty of buffs for you, but I would say personal preference.

WM/Energy powers to skip when making my build.
Gobbledygook replied to MunkiLord's topic in Scrapper
I've been thinking Wm/Inv myself for awhile, even been playing around in Pines for the last cpl of days. Looks, interesting. -
But, I don't have a base. Not in a SG, so no coalition either? Guess this would be helpful for someone like me, huh?

sentinel Sunsette's Guide to the Energy Blast Sentinel
Gobbledygook replied to Sunsette's topic in Guides
I only wanted to point this out because it's such a well written guide, and I honestly didn't see any other mistakes, but, I think you may have meant Invulnerability here, and not Invincibility.
