Can someone point me to a budget Fire/Fire Build?

Alright so it's a little embarassing
Six-Six replied to Neogumbercules's topic in General Discussion
haha. I have one of these. Clay, my AR/Dev blaster. I didn't really plan to power-level him that high up. I just wanted enough levels so I can get some res/def on a blaster and a semblance of an attack chain. But... the friends that hosts the farms as well as the people who door sit with me have really fun banter. Next thing I know He's 48. Towards the higher levels, I would join in the fight from the side, sniping here and there. I don't think I've run a single mission on him, though. I think it's safe to say that he's SWAT: Sit, Wait and Talk. 😃 Edit: just checked. I ran 2 missions on him. I have no idea where I got the merits from. Been street sweeping yesterday just to acquaint myself with his janky attack chain. -
@EmmySky @MTeague Time to add yours 😃

What Combat Attributes do you monitor?
Six-Six replied to Yomo Kimyata's topic in General Discussion
It's automatic for me to monitor end consumption and recovery. I try to make it a point that recovery is at least twice the value of consumption. And on my Brutes, I monitor damage bonus and to hit. It let's me know exactly when Fury is at max. -
Solarverse's SFX Consolidated List of Mods
Six-Six replied to Solarverse's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
Wow! how serendipitous. I just rolled a katana scrapper 😃 You rock as always, SV! Just took it out for a spin with the new sounds. And. It. Sounds. Awe. Some! Incidentally, I also downloaded your Transformer SFX Mod for MMs (for my bots), and apparently they also affect some if not all of my Arachnos pets as well as enemies. Equally awesome. 😃 -
that's the main reason I respec. to arrange IOs, not so much repick powers, but to make sure IOs are nice and neat and in order (Heal and Absorb goes first, the proc last). and with crafted IOs, I try to have them in multiples of 5 (level 10, 15, 20, etc.), otherwise, even if they're a proc, I'll sell them in the AH. OCD runs in the family.

Freaking annoying... even for non-scrappers. A friend and I duo-ed an ITF. I was a mace bane spider, so melee, along with my friend who was a fire/dark blaster. I'd go in, draw first blood, and aggro... and still the mob would flock to other guy. And when it came down to Bosses like Cyclops, Minos, Requiem and Romy... they wouldn't stand and fight. Got dizzy chasing them around! Sheesh!

Natural Origin isn't just for sword/SR scrappers
Six-Six replied to cohRock's topic in General Discussion
I tend to follow the logic that Analog tools such as the ones mentioned above can still be considered Natural. Anything that enhances your performance (like Ironman's suit) would be Tech. Otherwise, a Natural hero will be confined to regular people who use their hands. -
for the last one, you can also switch alignments and do facemaker missions which work exactly the same way as Icon missions.

One time, something similar happened to me. The mobs in Talos were wide-screened TVs (seriously), and that wasn't the weirdest thing. GMs told me to quit the client, restart and rescan. sometimes the files get corrupted. a computer and client restart + rescan solved mine.

I may be a rarity, but I've never been a fan of Hasten. instead, I like Adrenaline Boost from experimentation. on melee toons, I take Speed of Sound which, with a macro or bind, tp's you to the next enemy alive and so far it's the fastest animating tp there is. beats running after them. Speed of Sound does have a rather high end cost. so I turn of sprint and slot Speed of Sound with 3-4 slots of Celerity + Universal travel IOs focusing on the end and set bonuses. Adrenaline boost with just 2 slots of the Adjusted Targeting (rech, to-hit/rech) gives additional global damage. You need to pick injection or toxic dart. either one is good depending on how you play. if the toon solo's a lot, toxic dart is a nice little range toy to "get the enemy's attention" one at a time instead of a group like provoke or taunt... if you want to break up a mob that's too big by whittling the edges. 😃

Sorry. I am unable to view MIDs files. I will hazard a few general advice: WP is quite strong even when it's minimally slotted. the only drawback of WP that gets me is that it's toggle heavy, so a lot of end drain. For this reason, I take full advantage of High Pain tolerance, which is on auto and costs no end. The others, I tend to slot 2, 3 or 4 just to manage the end consumption of the toggle (plus get a few set bonuses in the process). Depending on the toon, I may choose between Fast Healing and Rise, or both. I like slotting the full set of Preventive Medicine on one of these. If I take both, I just use it to free up some slots from Health. Quick Recovery is awesome with just a Perf Shifter proc, although if I have spare slots, I put in the new end mod (+chance to heal) which also have nice 2pc and 3pc set bonuses. I rarely take Resurgence (since I don't plan on dying that often, when I do, an insp or temp power from P2W or a day job accolade can do the trick). I don't like the end crash of Strength of Will, so I rarely take the T9 as well. WP has a nice balance of Res and Def. But being in the front lines, you'll want to supplement this with power pools. I like Combat Jumping because it barely costs any end, plus it allows you to take Spring Attack later, if that's your thing. More on the power pools, you can choose between Tough + Weave (though it comes at a cost of a power pick you'll likely never use--though I like slotting either box or kick with a 2pc set bonus, just so it's not entirely useless) or Maneuvres. I think Weave AND Maneuvres is too much, but that may be just me. Assault and Tactics are automatic. I like to put the whole set of Gaussian in Tactics for the awesome full set bonus, if slots allow. This leaves you with power picks. On any melee, I never take the primary Taunt. Instead, I opt for the Presence Power Pool's Provoke which is basically the same thing. Doing this allows me to take Relentless later. I like how the Katana power works and usually take everything (aside from the Taunt). How you slot it depends on how you play. Enjoy. and Good luck.

@skorry I think the infrastructure is already there (but don't take my word for it, I know nothing of game development). It's like when you enter a mission or TF, several people/teams can be doing the same mission/TF at the same exact time, but in a different instance of the map. @TraumaTrain this too already exists, but IMHO is under utilised. PvP maps scale you down to certain levels so that no OP toon will grief other players https://archive.paragonwiki.com/wiki/PvP_Zones

Crazy limitations you put on yourself while playing
Six-Six replied to wolfshadow31's topic in General Discussion
Another quirky thing I do, not sure if it's a limitation, is to stealth to the end of the mission and finish the mission first (until the exit button appears), then I go back and make sure there are no witnesses. Doing this forces me to not to die, because if I do, I can't go back to it. -
Yes, but aren't you confined to the Arena? (sorry for my newbish ignorance) I was thinking more of a "controlled" or invitation-only Recluse's Victory or Warburg game
-
to add to Myrmidon's, I usually put 2 Celerity IOs in sprint: Stealth + end redux. Less tiring when your run, nice little set bonus on the side.
-
I use Brawl slotted and in conjunction with Box, Kick, and Cross Punch. It's not as puny as it sounds. on the AT Inherent powers, I can only comment on the ones I've played extensively (I haven't played Tanks, Stalkers, Defenders, Controllers, and MMs enough). Blaster's Defiance, Spider's Conditioning, Brute's Fury, Scrapper's Critical Hit and Corruptor's Scourge are all working fine for me. I don't have anything major enough to warrant a suggestion, any minor grievance I may have, I can adjust my play style. in fact I really like all of the above as they are. Sentinel's opportunity is a can of worms that I will not open. But I hear that it is getting a good look, so I'm remaining hopeful. Domination. I dunno. I don't really "feel" it's presence or effect during actual play. I can't tell whether it's bad or it's so good that it is inseparable or indistinguishable from my "normal" attack chain. (I could also suck at playing Doms, so there's that) Khelds. Energy Flight and Shadow Step are cheap powers for an Epic AT, IMHO, especially that you can choose your travel power as early as level 4. I suppose it had more premium when travel powers and fitness weren't inherent or as easy to get. Cosmic Balance and Dark Sustenance. I really like the concept of "feeding off your team/synergising with your team". the only change I would suggest (and I'm not sure if I'm just missing it as a newb) is to have an effect when you team with other Khelds. This stems from playing spiders--the spider's Leadership secondaries stack tremendously when you run with a team of 8 spiders. I know Leadership is not an inherent, but a similar effect to/for Khelds would be awesome. 😃 Other than that, my only other wish is to be able to customise the colour of Power Slide.

Would it be possible to set up PvP as an instanced map similar to mission maps. This way a group (min of 2, of course) can have an instance separate from another group. such an instance would make PvP a closed game between groups who can only enter via invitation, similar to Task/Strike Forces... like a Laser Tag game. I suppose it will be similar to a Gladiator match, minus the gladiators. Disclaimer: I don't currently play nor have I ever played PvP other than an empty Recluse's Victory or to get badges from an equally empty Warburg. A friend of mine and I were recently chewing the fat, and we thought it held enough water to be suggested. =)

@srmalloy from the GMs. when I needed help killing the last creep on a kill all map, they advised to use a Position Based AoE instead of regular attack

Crazy limitations you put on yourself while playing
Six-Six replied to wolfshadow31's topic in General Discussion
totally depends on the toon. I have: a toon that only does AE (farms/arcs) a toon that only does street sweeping, and newspaper (radio to you bluesiders)... no story arcs a toon that has no set bonuses or IOs from sets some toons that only pick certain powers based on theme/concept some toons don't team at all, and some only play in teams some toons that don't pick ancillary/patron pools (and are not Khelds) and a toon that does Hard Core - no help from alts (inf/IOs) - no def/survival enhancer, XP boost from P2W - no DFB - no buying of recipes or purchases from AH - no Reveal until red markers show up, even then it's optional - no deaths for general gaming, I try to: • log off with alts at a level that is a multiple of 5 (so all my alts are either 5 or 10 after creation, the 5-6 alts I currently play are 15, 25, 45... etc) except after 45, because it's slower then... unless RL forces me to leave right away. • use costume pieces only once. Yeah, this doesn't work so well, but I try to force myself to utilise less popular costume pieces -
nope. melee is different, usually pertaining to Single Target Attacks. confusing, I know, but melee Area of Effect can be a radius: Position Based Area of Effect (PBAoE) or a cone. one thing that sucks, though, is when you convert within category of melee AoE, you have a chance to get Air Burst which has no category even though it's listed as Targeted AoE, and can only be converted under rarity category. Waste of a converter, but it is how it is

Anyone interested in a Hardcore(permadeath) SG on Reunion
Six-Six replied to gronbek's topic in General Discussion
Technically, AE farms or any power levelling are not allowed. But I suppose AE story maps are allowed as long as they're not set to control or remove a certain difficulty, like S/L or Fire maps, Lieut Maps, etc.
