  1. I wondered about this when my first Kheld reached lvl 35. The answer I got was awesome: You don't need epic pools when you're an epic AT. Whether it's true or not is up for debate, but the answer was epic in itself. 😃
  2. I concur. I see the existing epics/patrons very limited when it comes to theme and performance. a lot of them just don't seem to be "epic" at all.
  3. @EmmySkyYes... I mean no... sort of... It just so happens I enjoy your comments (along with MTeague, Vile, and a few others), and that they appear in the threads I'm interested in.
  4. @Greycat, then those people are either dumb or evil... or it's one humongous peanut butter sammich... which shouldn't need it because the pb does the job even if you have a stack of 12. I'd go with dumb.
  5. it's not presentation. It's to keep them from falling apart. They usually put a flag there instead of just sticks so you see it and don't bite into it jamming up the roof of your mouth. The "proper" way to deal with this is to hold your sammich securely before you take the flag out. Note: where I'm from, we rarely use these flags since there's barely enough between our sammiches that needs holding together 😃
  6. I, too, was confused with the status effect duration at first. And your more recent post is correct. the lower then number, the less time you spend mezzed. Also, the "cap" you were asking about in the original post: the only answer I can give is that you can only have 5x of a particular set bonus (i.e. you can have 5x 6.5% mez res, AND 5x 3.5% mez res and so on, but your 6th 3.5 or 6.5 will not count and be wasted), until you reach the cap of mez res which is 75%(?). Macskull is correct, though. It is better to build up your ranged or aoe def/res -- which is how enemies mez you -- instead of directly slotting mez res/def. I can attest to this after a rebuild of my mez-magnet blaster. a switch to higher ranged and aoe def/res now lets him face off against rikti and carnies with ease. he still gets mezzed but A LOT less, and for shorter periods (like a 2 seconds). I'd also like to add that numbers and stats behave differently when you play. I suppose several factors are in play and the AI needs to reconcile every single one of them. that's why I'm not too fond of taking the stats to heart. They're a nice guide, but not the law.
  7. I'm sorry, but at the risk of sounding like a kiss-ass, can I just say that your most recent lightsaber SFX mod for katana has made the world of difference to my toon. I'm not a big Star Wars fan, but the mod has really solidified my toon, Miya Musashi who wields a vanguard blade. Like the Beam Rifle mod, I SWEAR it makes my toons attacks stronger--not a lot of my toons can tackle +2x4 at level 15. You, sir, have made it such a joy to play and next thing I know she's already at 24. Thank you, thank you, thank you. as always, I look forward to your next mod. =)
  8. You can always use 2nd and 3rd builds. One optimised for farming, one for PvE content. IMHO, Energy Mastery is the best brute mastery. unless concept dictates otherwise, it's my go-to mastery.
  9. you sound like you could use a lucky penny.
  10. I think I got it. It is now my lucky penny 😃
  11. to add to what Nyghtmaire said, there was a drug in (Judge) Dredd 2012 (the one with Karl Urban), where the effect was it slowed down time--perfect for time/kinetics. Dark could be a mystically-oriented drug which is similar to how Illidan was addicted to mana (warcraft), or how the orcs were tainted with fell magic.
  12. Wow. Awesome work! Thank you. Will take a while to digest the info as my brain is not as big as a Galaxy 😃
  13. I suppose it's gambling, but I wouldn't call it high stakes. I wouldn't buy one if I only have 10mil. but If you've got a couple of 100mil (which you will just by enjoying the game, trust me), then it's a fun distraction. more often than not your break even. rarely do you lose and if you do, not by much. you can still easily make at least half of the 10 mil back if you sell stuff at the right time.
  14. the game basically throws inf at you if you know where to look. Run an ITF, you get 10-16mil inf plus drops. common recipe drops are 100k if sold in stores or the nurse, a typical run usually gets an additional 2mil worth of common recipes. uncommon and rare recipes, I tend to craft, convert (to a pricey one) and sell. I'm not a fan of purples, rather prefer cheap builds. so I have a stash of purple IOs and recipes that are worth a butt-load if I do decide to sell them. You can also save the inf and buy super-packs for ATOs. It's a gamble and sometimes you do encounter a loss, but odds of making a profit are in your favour with super-packs.
  15. On average, I might get: 1. 5 unslotters, 2. 20 Brainstorm ideas, 3. Dominion of Arachnos damage/end (ATO) 4. respec token 5. windfall temp power Each card has a chance to get one of the items, as Greycat and I have listed. and Rarity plays. Sometimes you get 2 ATOs, sometimes none. I don't think anyone has ever rolled 3 ATOs. Temp powers and insps are quite common, so are unslotters and converters. Merits less common, etc. (I think you can also get boosters IIRC) No purple or PvP IOs in the mix, nor recipes. Additional note, these will end up in your character items (other tab of email--buttons at the bottom). And you can have any alt claim them. What can you do with them? some things are account-locked like merits and temp powers. others, like converters, catalysts and unslotters you can sell in the AH. Merits you can convert to the aforementioned items and sell; similarly, brainstorm ideas can be crafted to salvage which you can also sell. ATOs, you can also sell, usually for 8mil. so if you invested 10mil for a super pack, it's easy to see how a lucky draw can earn you a profit, one catalyst + one ATO = 11 mil so you're already 1 mil ahead. though sometimes you break even or lose inf. In my case, I view super packs as a mini-game when I have inf to spare and alts to ATO up. (I don't slot ATOs in all my alts)
  16. Are you implying that they're Anti-Vexxers?
  17. winter packs are just like super packs with the exception that instead of ATOs, you get winter IOs. So you have a chance to get catalysts, unslotters, merits, converters, tailor coupons, experienced temp power, windfall, large (not super) indv and team insp, and brainstorm ideas (I think that's it, I can't recall any more off the top of my head). personally, I'm not a big fan of winter IOs and I find them overpriced at that. I do occasionally by super packs because it's easier to make a profit off of them, especially when you luck out and get to ATOs in one go.
  18. I like KB. Can we have an IO proc that doubles or triples KB? That comment about nothing heroic about KB-ing your enemies, you've obviously never seen Supes bring it to Darkseid or Black Adam.
  19. for the power names, just drag a power to the chat bar and you'll get the name. Sometimes, it will display the extend name (like NightWidow Training.Mental Blast), in such cases, you can just use "Mental_Blast". regarding the underscore and quotes, I've read that most times they are not required, but are put there to easily define and find the command. When I make a macro, it's usually a guess and check and edit if wrong until it works 😃 Additional note on macros, they work last command first (or right to left) so you want the first thing to execute listed last... or so I've heard. Don't take my word for this, I barely know my way around macros, although I do have some that work half the time
  20. @MTeague Awesome stuff! I haven't finished reading them all, but thoroughly enjoying them. I like the format that you used complete with pic. I might do the same if I can drag my lazy ass to do it 😃
  21. Yes
  22. came here for the powerpoint as well. thoroughly disappointed. Clickbait! =)
  23. Nonsense. All alts are created equal, whether level 1 or 50+1. start the list (believe me it's cathartic) 😃
  24. Oh. Sorry, my dyslexia got the better of me again. I don't think the slotting for Spines/ will directly translate to Fire/, but at least it's a starting point. Again, apologies for the misread.
  25. Apart from this, I've started limiting myself as the concept dictates. For example, My AR/Dev Blaster is just a skilled soldier with no powers. For one thing, I just pick "normal" AR powers on him, like burst, M30, snipe and full auto. No shotgun blast, no flame thrower. Additionally, he won't be taking powers like Force bolt or Spirit Ward from the pools, rather something realistic like adrenaline or injection. I also have a DP blaster that uses a revolver so he won't take the AoEs and the nuke, just single shot attacks. On the flip side, I could come up with another DP blaster that uses the Uzi, so only AoEs, no STs. Ultimately, the character dictates what he does in-game, not what will make him the strongest possible version of the AT/power set.
