  1. But @Jimmy, why do you have to be gone so long that people quote your posts from five years ago?
  2. Been there, done that.
  3. Oh! Thanks, I vaguely remember that now.
  4. What's Derek's Disaster and who is Derek?
  5. What if the Mapserver invades the Shadow Shard? dun, Dun, DUN!!
  6. Alty was fun, creative, organized, and generous. I'm sorry to hear of her passing and pray that she rests in peace and that her family and friends find solace.
  7. In the future, all things are possible . . .
  8. Work on the Insect Mastermind power set: Pheromones: Minor damage, minor debuff, tags enemy with a pheromone that attracts and take extras damage from insects. Summon Bees: 2-3 swarms of Bees obey your command. The third has a queen that can apply pheromone tag and when upgraded replace a defeated swarm Stinger: Throw a large stinger for high lethal/toxic damage- applies pheromone tag. Train insects: (TBA) Honeypot: Toss a honeypot to a location that does damage, applies a taunt effect drawing foes in, and slows them Army Ants: Summon 2 giant Army Ants (about the size of a dog) Locust Swarm!: Similar to Gang War. Summons a devastating swarm that eats everything in its path. Cannot be controlled. Genetic upgrade: (TBA) Summon Dung Beetle: Summon giant dung beetle (about the size of a small car). This tanky beetle attacks with giant pincers. Every 3 minutes he creates a dung ball that can capture enemies and roll them around (like a katamari!)
  9. Bonus points for skipping Stone Skin, the auto power, and not slotting damage procs in Taunt or anywhere other than Brawl!
  10. Sometimes I think you guys don't moderate enough. Other times I think you moderate too much. I guess that means it's balanced . . . ish. Sorry, I felt it need a visual.
  11. A dreamer's gotta dream, bruh! Why are you showing me the door?
  12. As proposed, I am not a fan of this saga mode. However, I think there is some merit in discussing a different leveling paradigm to give old dogs a new trick to learn. In thinking about the "Saga mode" name and developing a new leveling paradigm I came up with something completely different. (I also thought the idea about having an in-game curated story arc journey was great). Similar to battlewraith's idea, it would only be available after the character has gotten to level 50, hits the Saga mode switch, and the character is back at level one having to chose initial powers and then level up by gaining XP. This would be like the second and third build so you could always switch back if you wanted to run some 4 star content. Also similar is that the character cannot slot any IOs. But instead of being able to choose any powers at any level, the character has to choose them in the standard order, before the compression. The character is also "blessed" with a saga mode power that removes Beginners luck (https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Attack_Mechanics#Beginner's_Luck), reinstitutes the old, higher debt values, and essentially brings back the game experience from 15 - 20 years ago. Goodbye, ED! That gives a certain population that feeling of nostalgia of playing it "hard core old school;" gives others a new challenge to overcome; or can be completely ignored just like most characters never use their other build slots.
  13. Obligatory: Can I have your stuff. Also: Welcome back!
  14. I don't know all the answers. I'm not a coder, let alone a dev for this game. Just because I present an idea, I think it's a bit unfair and ludicrous that I should have it fully fleshed out. But here you go: 1) How do you make the attack only work against Sally since the camera would do damage as part of its flash? There are other critters that are immune to damage until you do "X" (eat an inspiration, destroy a machine, etc.) Copy that. 2) What type damage would the flash do and how would Sally be immune to other sources of that damage? Special damage, untyped damage, flash damage . . . whatever . . . Why does the name matter? 3) How do you prevent the attack (the camera) from affecting other enemies? Same way they made the Reichsman power used in Khan (and Baracuda maybe?) only work against Reichsman. Copy that. 4) How do you overcome the problem of Sally still dives for taking damage preventing other players from taking her picture. (Or at least mollify said players for a flash doing damage that drives off the monster preventing them from also simply taking a picture for a badge they also want.) (Edit again: After all, she will still be taking damage and following her script per your proposal.) That problem currently exists. I'm not sure why you'd have to change that. Maybe just have Sally spawn on a quicker schedule or triggered every time someone gets a camera.
  15. I've suggested a solution to the Sally brutality: 1) Make an NPC that talks about Sallie and offers you a temp power that takes the form of the olde timey camera. 2) Make Sally immune to all damage except the flash from the camera. 3) Now that you have photographic proof, you are a Believer! (and are awarded the badge)
  16. You take whatever time you need. Your efforts are truly and greatly appreciated.
  17. I provide more whimsy than snark.
