  1. Each server has a set of channels that include "Server name", "Server name" Badges, "Server name" Monsters, "Server name" TFs, "Server name" PvP. Plug in your Excelsior or any other server name. However, at least on Excelsior it seems to me that most of the chatting goes on in Help, LFG, and General. I would advertise on LFG what badge you were going for and wait for the tells to come in. You could certainly say the same thing in Excelsior Badges and Excelsior PvP but you'll get less response.
  2. Most people in this game don't really want to be challenged. They like face-rolling. Difficult enemies and difficulty settings already exist in the game. People are happy to do +4/x8 Council or even the slightly harder Romans in the ITF. But rarely do you see players advertising for +4/x8 Arachnos missions or using any of the other difficulty settings other than once for an Ouro Badge or for a Master Run. There's a reason people don't play redside and goldside as much. It's harder. Yes, I know that there are many players that do enjoy a challenge and solo +4/x8 ITFs and try to get single digit times speed running stuff. You crazy people are the exception . . . or should I say we crazy people. And when you get a character that can solo +4/x8 and add another 7 bodies to add damage and buffs and debuffs things melt. If all 8 of those bodies can solo +4/x8 then you'd better not blink or you'll just see a pile of NPCs on the floor. I do want to have extra difficulty added but it has to be optional. Perhaps an extra setting that adds random elite bosses with a full complement of player powers. Think of what would happen if you suddenly ran into a Gravity/Time controller surrounded by friends . . . or a Force Field/Water defender . . .etc. Maybe make it a clone or shadow of someone on the team.
  3. Check in the Pet damage channel.
  4. Fire. Dead is better than sapped.
  5. I enjoyed my Thugs/EA, although I find it busier than other MM secondaries.
  6. I would consider keeping the ice theme and going with cold/ice defender. That can give her 30% defense to all but psi, capped hitpoints, 30% resistance to fire/cold, 20% resist to toxic. Supplement that with pools that further support her: either Medicine pool for mez resistance and some heals, Experimentation pool for mez resist plus regen and recovery, and/or leadership, concealment, sorcery, etc. And all that is supplemented by impressive debuffs to regen, defense, resistance, movement, recovery, recharge, and damage as well as your own holds and rains to stack with your wife's attacks.
  7. I'll take that as a "yes" then. Fun to you is making a certain amount of influence in a certain period of time. Thanks for responding. That helps me understand your point of view.
  8. Is the fun in playing the game (whatever that means to you) or is the fun in generating a certain amount of influence? It sounds like you (Captain Yesterday. et. al.) are saying you can't have fun unless you get 250 million every 3 days . . . 3 hours . . . whatever amount of influence in whatever period of time. Am I reading that right or am I misunderstanding something?
  9. With regard to many people being solo: I am frequently solo in a mission or in my base. I am self employed and love to play, but have to answer the phone and periodically check and respond to e-mails. As such, I may have to pause anywhere from a few seconds to a few hours depending on what is going on. I can't subject a team to that kind of inconsistent play. Now with the pandemic, I imagine that many are in the same position. But from time to time I also may have an hour or so to team or run a TF. It just depends on the day and what's going on.
  10. How do you feel about ego herding and/or cat runs?
  11. Thanks!
  12. Ah. Cool. Thanks for the update and congrats on winning the challenge!
  13. Rad/Dark melee is an amazing combo for tanks and brutes. Lots of +damage, endless endurance, and 2 heals as part of your attack chain to keep your HP topped off form whatever little bit gets through defense and resistance.
  14. Unfortunately, it didn't work as well as I had hoped. It worked pretty well leveling up or against just a few foes. Maybe if every attack had heal proc it would work better. But without higher defense too many hits come in. In a team with a little support it works just fine, but then again, what doesn't. I'll keep brainstorming and trying different stuff.
  15. I've tried a few different "sappers" but the only one I thought did it effectively enough was elec/elec dominator. I assume that an elec/elec controller could be just as good, perhaps better. I just ran an elec/elec blaster and while I could reduce critters to 0 endurance, keeping them there is harder than just killing them . . . and more dangerous. Maybe you could go soul patron for Soul Drain, Mistress, and Power Boost. Here's a build with capped S/L resist and can hit softcap to most positions and vectors by alternating Power Boost, Clarion Radial, and Support Hybrid.
  16. My default response is that any combination of powersets can be good enough with the right build and play style. Some things are easier, somethings are better at certain things. But you can take any AT and any powerset combo and solo x8 at 50. OK, maybe not a petless MM. But that goes under the "right build" setting. And yes, there are combos that are better for fire farming, or AV soloing, or ST damage, or AoE damage. Those things are demonstrably measurable. But you can do all those things on characters that may not be the best but they do the job.
  17. Wow! 67 seconds! That's very impressive. Is anyone keeping track of times? I'd love to see a ranking or top ten of times and the players/builds that got them.
  18. I shuffled some slots and powers around. Still capped S/L resist and softcapped range, but I think it will be easier to level.
  19. You can certainly move picks and slots around to fit your needs. It has softcap defense to S/L/E with agility, 37 to F/C, 27 neg, 16 psi and 25/30/35 to m/r/aoe respectively, so it does have mitigation and I expect it could solo +2/x8 at 50 with incarnates. But if you want a solo defender there are better choices than emp-elec.
  20. Someone on Excelsior requested a build for Emp-Elec, so here it is. Change it to suit your needs. 21. I would love to be able to buy the accolade powers at P2W. I don't care about the badges that accompany them, just the powers themselves. I'd pay good money for that.
  22. Whew. For a second I thought Fashion Victim badge was going to be unique and only available through costume contests and was about to rant. Nothing to see here. Carry on.
