  1. It's a good summary, although the author missed a fundamental point: the original trinity was called that from a LFG standpoint; without the holy trinity, your group was incomplete. Post-WoW, the trinity is called that in game design, by people who want to move away from the offense/defense/support dynamic (or just 'healing' specifically, in games where that hurts immersion).
  2. It's probably patterned off of Blaster's Martial Combat Ki Push, which is a well-received repel + KB. Notably, however, Ki Push is relatively unremarkable damage for a Blaster; you appreciate not taking a total DPS loss for using your CC, but it's a CC first.
  3. I don't have numbers but I suspect the bulk of Sent players are not building to use a proc-heavy attack chain. Those players are going to disproportionately favor blasters and even then I would guess it's a minority of characters
  4. My feeling is that since Sentinel performs well enough pre-Incarnate and is a new addition, they're going to hand out whatever buffs they think are necessary to the ATs Sent conceptually competes with, then finally go back and hit Sent. Whether or not that's the true intention, that's how it looks like it's shaking out.
  5. While I share frustration that much hasn't been done with Sents when getting them to parity would be as simple as a scale tweak, it's worth recalling these are unpaid volunteers doing their best with limited time, and the AT performs well enough for the majority of players such that Sents are reasonably popular for alts. As for what they were thinking with Fire Blast, they wanted to give Fire some utility rather than just being 'more damage more harder' -- where they erred is twofold: - Spamming CC as part of your attack chain just means your attack chain is mindless. - KB absolutely should never be spammed rather than purposefully used.
  6. My current projects are blasters; another sentinel is prob. #3 or 4 on the list, once I can figure a primary or secondary I haven't done before. Water/Ice seems likely.
  7. Original suggestion tied it to the roleplaying toggle and I acknowledged your preference to disentangle the toggle for this from roleplaying. I'm not looking to remove anyone's functionality here. I want to avoid changing the existing behavior of any commands in this way since it might break macros and posting habits. I'd be fine with this suggestion broadly, but I'm more focused on making high-traffic situations usable in RP.
  8. ... hence my suggestion of turning it sticky like status messages. I can count on one hand the number of people I've ever seen use it as thought bubbles.
  9. Next to each name on the sign-up sheet there's a link [X] However, in light of your question, that is kind of a hacky format that could be more user friendly. I'm AFK right now, but I'll try to fix it up with a better UX tomorrow.
  10. I would do what the targeting drone does: makes a very annoying noise when first summoned that gently fades until you don't even realize it's gone until you get mezzed and detoggled and gdi that noise is back again @*$)##)
  11. cardiac arrest is a kind of arrest
  12. The fact that a different contact from Vanessa DeVore is involved in freeing Katie Douglas from the Seer Network suggests that Vanessa is gone at that point -- maybe not dead, but at the least she went back to Praetoria. Previously Vanessa had insisted she'd take full responsibility for that situation, and personally direct Katie's ire towards her. So I can see First Ward concurrent with Underground, though I'd probably place it a bit earlier.
  13. From the Contact Ward, in Night Ward choosen --> chosen
  14. It's an amazingly perverse design, yes. I've heard procs are getting looked at; I just hope that it doesn't delay the Sentinel improvements we're all hoping for. But both issues need addressing.
  15. This is inspired by another suggestion, but goes in a very different direction, so I thought it best not to hijack their thread further. I'd like to propose the creation of the /rpchat command. This would not only activate the /roleplaying tag but also initiate a number of 'quality of life' changes to help with roleplayers in crowded scenarios: Disables chat bubbles to global channels. No more immersion getting ruined because someone stopped for a minute to answer someone's questions in /help. Makes emotes 'sticky' (the way some people use 'is typing' messages) so that they don't occupy more chat bubble real-estate. These wouldn't be permanent, but would last a few minutes. Alter chat bubble size in conjunction with the new command /shout and /quiet. Shouted bubbles would be larger and visible from a much further distance, while /quiet bubbles would be smaller and visible from a smaller distance. Add a new command /rpwhisper. This functions similar to the whisper function, but in RP mode, the whispers become boxy captions (the way many missions use them to simulate voiceovers) that pop up on screen detached from anyone. In this way, chat bubbles would become much more useful for actually tracking what's going on in conversation in an immersive, comic-book manner rather than having to rely on chat logs which are prone to chat scroll.
  16. Thread has been updated. Big thanks to all the hard work from @drbuzzard @underfyre @oldskool and the other contributors.
  17. That still feels too magical for my tastes. I feel like incarnate tech stuff should really just be tech themed content that incarnates have to fight, like a machine empire or something
  18. I think this is a problem maybe better handled by tweaks to chat balloons. Spatial representation of text works better than attempting to filter chat logs more severely I think.
  19. I would say less "don't like" and more "the bigger issue needs to be addressed and given time to be evaluated before we can really focus on it" Overall I feel like it is rare for either Corruptor or Defender to feel like they aren't contributing or wanted, which is not something that can be said for all ATs right now, even if on expensive builds there's an imbalance. I get your issue and would like it tweaked too though.
  20. what i'm mostly getting from this thread is that damage procs are a problem, which I think is a wider issue than corrs vs defenders
  21. Lot of competition, but gonna have to go with Afterburner.
  22. I support this.
  23. haven't tried it but Dark, Water, or Beam are the most end-hungry primaries I think, and Dark or Water helps cover survival issues for Will while Beam never has to put itself in those scenarios
