EA getting nerfed on other ATs is no bearing on Tanks being nerfed. Dark Armor: Cloak of Fear - Straight Buff Obscure Sustanance, neither a buff nor nerf if you ignore it, but its a pretty good power Soul Transfer: Straight Buff Electric Armor: Static Shield: Straight Buff Grounded: straight Buff Power Sink: I'd call it a rebalance, you're trading some Endurance for Regeneration, so it probably works out to be about even Energize: Straight Buff Power Surge: Does anyone even take this? The duration reduction is a little bit of a nerf, but removing the crash is a huge buff Ice Armor: Hibernate: Straight Buff Icicles: Cold is resisted less than Lethal, so straight buff Rime: Has potential, and more options are always good Radiation Armor: Ok, I'll give you this one, but Ground Zero hitting more than 16 enemies before sounds more like a bugfix than a nerf Regeneration: It's complicated, but it looks like it will be a buff overall So yeah, tank armor changes have been almost all buffs this patch. -
It does provide a healthy amount of auto hit -defense to stack on top of Earthquake’s. also, once upon a time, when Stone Cages gave knock back protection it kept enemies inside Earthquake.
-
Well, cloak of darkness makes it so you can’t see the character dance, hence no DDR
-
It actually works like a black hole now! I haven’t tested it, but I took it to mean it pulls everything in and if it can’t be pulled in, it gets phased.

Unless I’m missing something, every armor set that is getting changed in this page (except Enery Aura, which tanks didn’t have before this) is getting buffed. -
in my post in the first page, I stated that I used 3x acc/mez HOs in the power. I was planning on using 2x acc/mez, 1 x damage/mez and 2x damage, not realizing when I was leveling up that there is an accuracy penalty in the power, so 3x acc/mez 2x damage had to suffice. I’m sure it was better than if I had *not* slotted the power with acc/mez, but it was far from “good”

First round of testing for me, I'll be comparing a Psionic/Psionic tank to a Willpower/Psionic Tank. Both using nothing but SOs, except for 3 HOs each, Aura Of Insanity got 3 Acc/Mez HOs for the Psi armor and Dominate got 3 Dam/Mez IOs for the Willpower. I took everything but Concentration and Boggle on the attack side, took every power from both sets on the armor side. for APP went Psi mastery with Dominate, Harmonic Mind, and Psi tornado. Also took fly, Tough, Weave, and Combat Jumping on both. after faceplanting the first time on Psi armor, I opted to slot Agility Core Paragon for both toons. the mission: Radio mission, +1x4 against Arachnos. Psi really struggled to keep up with this. I was popping Consume Psyche and Psychokinetic Barrier on cooldown. I used Memento Mori several times throughout the mission as well to stay on my feet. I face planted against the first group almost immediately, subsequently slotted an alpha and things got a little better, but for a tank I felt pretty weak. I had to use some strategies that I don''t usually find myself using on tanks. I had to use Dominate on Mu targets and focus down the one or two that were not held before moving on to anything else or I would bottom out on endurance (yes, even with PKB's -end resistance) Willpower was chosen because it is a pretty good "middle of the road" set. in the mission I did, my health never dropped below 70%, endurance only almost bottomed out once (fighting 4 mu and I didn't prioritize them at first) but most of the time it was a comfortable, easy ride. I did not use Strength of Will at all. So... to me Psi armor feels pretty weak, and here's my thinking. You're layering too many different mediocre mechanics together in hopes that they will stack well. At a bare minimum, I'd like to see the Smashing/Fire/Cold resists brought up to the level of the other resists in the set. Probably want to add AoE defense to Impose Presense, maybe even do some front-loaded defense on it like Invincibility gets. I'd also like to see some of the debuff resistances increased in Psychokinetic Barrier.

You’re very dedicated… or crazy… maybe both?

Keep the panacea proc and swap the heal IO for the regenerative tissue proc
-
It provides Smashing and Melee defense. 11.25% for brutes 15% for tankers. so it’s a fair amount. However, conventional wisdom says that DA doesn’t have DDR, so chasing defense is not worth it.

I did just think about something that may look wonky with “true giant” Gems. All of the textures for models are relatively low resolution (at least comparatively) so forcing them to scale to twice or three times the size they were designed for may cause pixelation. I don’t know if that is reason enough to not allow it, but food for thought.

Yeah, the generics are still considered IOs because they’re made the same way and function the same as all of the set IOs. They were also released as part of the invention system update many years ago. yes, SO stands for Single Origin, those have a specific origin tied to them (natural, magic, etc) and can be purchased through regular vendors. also, level 25 common IOs aren’t quite as powerful as an even level SO (they provide 32% instead of 33.33% bonus for schedule A) but it’s close enough that it doesn’t really matter for most content.

Depends on your goal for social I think… i pretty much exclusively play on Everlasting, General chat there is always going, and it’s pretty easy to find a team during normal parts of the day. I have a weird sleep thing and have been on at all hours, I find anywhere between 6 am and 1 am Eastern time (3 am and 10 PM pacific) you can relatively easily find teams. I will say prime time is evening but not too late eastern time.

You pretty much answered it… a lot of people aren’t badgers *and* this particular badge doesn’t provide any benefit.

you can change your global once. It’s an option under menu.

Common IOs are non-set “white” IOs, they don’t give set bonuses. In the /ah you can find the under Crafted Enhancements, they’re the first category there. I’m going to try and keep the math to a minimum here, but basically, SO strength is based on the level difference between you and the SO. If you are level 50, a level 50 damage SO (for example) provides a 33.33% boost. IOs work differently. Instead of based on relative level, the level of the IO determines its effectiveness. A level 30 damage IO provides a 34.8% boost, regardless of your level. You just have to be at least level 27 to slot a level 30 IO. IOs never “expire”. That is to say, as long as you are at least the minimum level required to slot the IO (3 levels below the IO level) you can slot the IO and continue to use it as you level up. For me, I slot SOs until level 27, then I buy level 30 common IOS until I’m ready to buy set IOs. A level 30 IO continues to work all the way to level 50. So, what I was suggesting in my first post is if a given level 50 SO costs at least 50k inf, just go on the /ah and purchase a level 30 common IO. I never bid more than 50k per common IO and usually purchase it instantly, but in the worst case, it takes a day or so to purchase.

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen Jurrasik leave the room he spawns in, but maybe he can, I don’t know.
-
Also, I haven’t bought level 50 SOs in quite some time, so I may be wrong about this, but I suspect you’ll get level 30 common IOs cheaper than a level 50 SO. I never spend more than 50k per level 30 common IO and they provide slightly more benefit than an even level SO.

Not on my computer, so I can’t really put something together at the moment, but just some food for thought on your power pools: you want TP and Fly and concealment, which could work, but I’m a firm believer that Empathy works best with Hasten (to get your RAs and AB down) and I also feel at least Assault and Tactics are great powers for empaths. (Maneuvers and Vengeance are pretty solid too) so, that’s 5 power pools and you can have a maximum of 4, so which one gives? now, if you don’t care about having stealth on 100% of the time, you could drop Stealth for Super Speed with a stealth IO in it, giving you the same stealth level but for a higher endurance cost, so you won’t want to run it full time. That drops you to 4 power pools, Speed, Flight, Teleport, and Leadership. As for sets, Doctored Wounds is not a terrible set, and it’s relatively cheap (I think each IO costs between 500-750k) so for 5 IOs (where you get the global recharge buff) you’re looking at between 2.5 and 4 million inf per power. If costs are closer to 1mil per IO, you might be better off buying a couple of LotG def/global recharge IOs (which usually sell around 5mil each) which will give you more global recharge for the same price. Drop 1 in hover and 1 in fortitude

So here’s the problem with having taller than what is allowed… clipping. A lot of maps aren’t designed for mobs taller than 8 feet. So basically, I have no problem with the idea except that there would have to be limits to what maps are allowed, which means extra code time. Assuming this extra code time is minimal… fine, I don’t care, but standard code rant applies.
-
You’ve added 2 slots to health and 1 to weaken Resolve… those would be better off as damage SOs in 3 attacks. Dead enemies deal no damage. also, make sure you slot an accuracy into dark regeneration first, if it misses, you don’t get healed.

My wife would probably kill me if I bought another coffee mug (we have way too many and I drink my coffee iced 2/3s of the year) but I’d love to add it to my collection as well
-
BTW: Just confirmed on one of my TW characters, the ring around Follow Through and Whirling Smash is there regardless of if the power is on CD or not, so you really don't need any change.

I’m guessing you’re building wrong. DA is plenty tough on both brutes and tank (aside from the lack of knock back protection). show us a screenshot of your enhancement screen and tell us what level you are.
