  1. I had a couple abandoned dark dark set up in high 20s. I took a Dark/Dark Corruptor and PLd him to low 30s for more slots and rebuilt him. Then took him on a couple posi And a synapse. I am coming off a Blaster (dark/dark) and the thing felt...awkward. My job function seems undefined i took a Dark Dark Dom and did the same. Now obviously i miss the Blaster damage. But wow is my job defined. I was quite surprised that the PB AoE stun was so large and so effective. Even without Dom up you hit the buff gather shadows and get a ton of damage mitigation. The cone Fear is dam solid too. I was worried about not getting AoE hold until mid 20s but it felt good. Of course Gold side is rougher. I mained a Dark Dark Brute from Oct until i just switched to the Blaster. I took the stun and fear auras on him that a lot of people skip. They are good mitigation there and real good mitigation here i will continue these two through the TFs and 50 them. I may try the same with a Controller. Probably will to see the difference. But i really am liking the Dom. I would like tar patch though
  2. This is like watching people “try” to drive during rush hour traffic. If you relax and people watch it is hilarious. If you try to “get something done” it is miserable. Sometimes you can make a light and slide in. Most times just sit back and enjoy the shit show
  3. I am currently running a Dark Dark Blaster and am seriously considering Dark Dark Corruptor for a long term (months!) weekly grind fest through Goldside and wards one of the things of note on the Dark Dark Blaster is the sustain kind of sucks. On my ice blaster and temp blaster the sustain just works. On the Dark you have to pump it every few seconds and it still is meh. Luckily there is a PB AoE end recovery power in the epic and i carry blues. Also Dark Blaster kills so damn fast even if your end bar bottoms most times everything is dead But Corruptors do not get a sustain... and Epic powers are a loooooong way off. How bad are Dark Dark Corruptors End issues? At a glance they look worse than Dark/Dark Blaster before a missing sustain is even figured in
  4. Manic depressive behavior is a bitch. Just ask my boss and the people who have to live around me
  5. So you are admitting that it is you. You are the problem. Can i get some Praetorian cleaner bots and a mind wipe here? Thanks
  6. If you mean friends list neither do i. People randomly ask me to be their friend sometimes. I am like sure and accept. Never use it not really sure how dont care i finally broke down and joined an SG with discord. A good decision. I am learning a lot and getting a badge addiction. You can do well to get in with a solod group that can run content. I have a couple people i respect there now and one or two i chat with casually. Is that a friend? They havent given me money yet so i am thinking not. ps. If YOU want to give me Infamy i gladly accept @Snarky
  7. Blinks. Really? There is a guy with a thread giving away 20 mill to anyone. There are super groups who will be glad to have a new member. yes, teams do not stay together long on most MMORPGs including this one. That is due to everything from short attention span theatre to life happening to you name it. But just because a team tends to run out of steam is not a reason to throw in the towel on life side note; i have many depressing reasons for you to throw in the towel on life if needed. Ps. Donate blood first. Feed the vamps running local blood banks seriously though This game has a steady crew who runs a lot of content. Find a group you like and get rolling
  8. I would 50 on live (and here) pretty organically. I like to try new things. To me this does not equal doorsitting. So.... 4 DFBs, A Posi 1, 2. Synapse, Yin, etc. preferably in order and including as many Redside SF PUGs as I could. Then at 35+ ITF and anything that let me use my toon and not doorsit. I also prefer the ITF for opening Incarnate Powers up fast. I usually 50 that way in a few days and then play a week or two with the built out 50 to see if I like it. This is why I am so bitchy on the boards about PUGs. Why the F are you running a POSI at +anything? I've done this a million times. You think you are getting more experience. you are, at a MUCH SLOWER RATE. I'm freaking trying to level here. It's like people doing 50 in the fast lane. What are you doing? "going fast!" You're doing 50.... "But I'm in the FAST lane!" *facepalm
  9. an incredibly good bad movie. kudos to the actors for powering through and delivering with no script and no Spfx
  10. One of the powers I have really come to enjoy as a Dark Blaster is Abyssal Gaze. I enjoy the look, but I LOVE the sound. It is a weird electronic groan thing. Are there any other Dark powers that are a clone of this? Corruptor Petrifying Gaze maybe? Thin possibility Controller ST Hold Dark Grasp? Once you get addicted to a certain power you want to play it for years lol. I still miss SS KO Blow. Like a Warner Bros sound effect for a punch.
  11. it will happen...just not for months and months lol. We are finishing the red and blue crawls now. at over 40 it is one level approx per session, once a week....
  12. Here is what I went to after my "ranged Ice/Temp" a "blapper ice/ice" turns out it is bettter for range. Damned short range 40-60, but ranged indeed. Just easy to run as you can get. 13. I now want "Bland Basic Costume Man" with the most generic super costume ever.
  14. You have your known knowns, your known unknowns, and your unknown unknowns.
  15. No, but you can bet I will now refer to it as Herpes side.... OOPS! Did I typo That? 🙂 Edit: I think it will "catch on"
  16. a few questions. is that your only account...and are you on the right account? were you messing with the CoH files to shift the order of characters or something like that? basically help desk stuff. is it plugged in? just check it now for me....
  17. I am going to be part of a team doing Praetoria 1-20 story arcs and then on through the wards. I am planning on running a Dark/Dark. I cannot decide between Defender Controller Corruptor or Dominator Are there certain ATs that do less well Goldside. I know if we were fighting non stop Arachnos holds are less useful (or so i have heard). Anything i should be aware of Goldside before i make my choice?
  18. I am developing ideas for a character for a long term team project. The team will start Goldside and at 20 start working through the wards. This will be a sloooooow levelling team. First note: There will be no Patron pools available. So any suggestions should keep in mind Epic Pools only. I am trying to choose between theses four Squishy ATs. Corruptor, Defender, Dominator, or Controller. I have never played a Defender or Controller before. I have a tiny bit of experience on Corruptors (although I am Blasting on a Dark/Dark main right now) and a moderate amount of experience with Dominators. I understand most people think that especially after 40 Doms are a third wheel, but the team will be pre 40 for freaking ever and I still enjoy the playstyle even if just killing is faster. Cruelty is fun.

  20. Oh that I could just stay Redside and collect all the badges and do all the teaming. Sigh. Not to be. The Lament of a Redside Brute. I played Brutes as my main for years....yet the Villain Alignment power is off limits. You have to go Rogue to team in the game. So instead of a kick to the engines at the start of combat I get a crap confuse power. FU OG Devs. I have moved onto Blasters. The confuse power is even more worthless. If I am at PB range I either need to be nuking or running. stand there and hope to get a few of the idiots to drool and smack their buddy like the 3 stooges? no thanks. Redside calls to me with themes and good story arcs and a well knit background. But to make it in CoH/V you need to get your butt to Blueside and join teams. Right now my character is Hero alignment for badges, ouro, etc. So much easier to get invited to a team. I can be in any blue zone and get invited to an ITF, Tinmage, or MC. Normally I see an ad I need to hop through one or two dimensions to the correct zone. "Still got room?" "Nope, just filled...." I do not even try for those teams 2/3 of the time because of this. With my coalition at least I can say in coalie chat "I would join that..." and get a seat. But LFG PUG? If I really want one of those I need to go to the zone and wait for a team to form, then join. Usually I craft there while waiting. It is really being a second class citizen to be a Rogue on CoH/V. But that is okay. I let my hate feed me. Screw you heroes. I will still outbadge and outplay 95% of you. Keep your weird story arcs and your belief Kheldians are here to "serve mankind." Serve Mankind? It's a cookbook you idiots.
  21. This is City of Heroes take on HP Lovecraft. And much like Twilight Vampires glitter in the Sun and are a hundred years old but find a teenage girl fascinating this crap is pretty hard to take. At least in the end the Devs sort of own up to Kheldians being monsters from beyond the stars who are ....shocking....working for their own ends and humanity is either a tool or something in the way. But you have to dig into the lore for that. They also hide it and do not make it explicit enough to turn off the teen vamp..err squid...fanboys.
  22. Playing is...playing. But for me the question is multi faceted. Many times I will start a character (and 50, slap a very expensive build on, incarnate etc) just to see if I like the powersets. These character last a week or two. Almost always deconstructed for parts. On a somewhat regular basis I will take a character and run every contact and mission Redside. I have done this Goldside twice, and never succeeded Blueside, highest I think was low 30s. For my Main characters they are set up on favored power sets and builds. I run these characters on all my gaming, TF, SF, Trials, whatever. Game hard, game often.
  23. Definitely a coolness thing, and the badge. It is hard to explain. only lasts a while, but does make you very powerful. Ask Gull to make you more powerful.
  24. Null the Gull will also make you more powerful. It is tedious, as you have to practically beg the bird to do it. Gets you a badge as well.

    Dark/Dark Chaos

I switched to a Dark/Dark Blaster as my main from a Dark/Dark Brute about a week ago. My hair is going to turn white from this crap lol. It IS fun, but it is a ton of work. I play tested quite a few likely Blasters. I learned a lot. My favorite by far was Ice/Ice/Ice. But the character concept won. Check profile pic.... So, the Blaster incarnation of my Vampire is Dark/Dark. One stand out thing. The Dark/Dark is ALWAYS running out of Endurance. Real similar slotting to the Ice/Ice. Thankfully the Dark has a PBAoE End Recovery. But you do have to get right up on them for this, and I dont like to get that close.... I carry Blues. Part of this may be the constant pumping of the Dark sustain by hand. Which I sometimes neglect to do in the heat of burning crap down. But even when I diligently work that thing it only seems to help a little. I do not know the numbers. i "think" that Dark/Dark is putting out more hate than Ice/Ice. The 4 cones is super nice on large spawns when my nukes are down. Stand back and work the crowd from a safe distance. 4 cones and a decent recharge means rarely not having a cone up. When I dont Fast Snipe is a filler. There have been deaths. But there has been way more success and fun than I anticipated. I am still one of the slowest of the cool kids. Always last to the bosses in the MLTF, etc. But I am getting better. And having a Blast.
