  1. Wow. Now i want this lol
  2. Take Storm from X men. I assume she is a blaster. Lightning from the sky and all that. Then she has a TON of wind powers. So Knockback and control. I could give about a thousand more examples of how it is hard to pigeon hole the vast majority of Supers into narrow job descriptions. Before i do let me just say this. You are wrong. It is a horrid premise. it would not work well with this game. Also, as someone who has done 'crawl' teams a few times, getting people to show up and be consistent each week is challenging. life happens. nerfing the Archetype to fit your game within a game is not going to increase turnout. Good Luck.
  3. Well, when invention salvage and recipes love each other very much....
  4. Dark Melee / Invulnerability on a high recharge build is a thing of beauty. The synergy is mind boggling. Pros: Endurance issue is a Brute thing? Would not know. If mobs drain me I just drain them right back and get a full bar. Health, one big heal that also raises your health pool…and a combat heal you spam that does good damage. Damage, an exotic Damage type that is one of the most effective in the game when you discuss mobs that resist it and their resistance levels to it. Very nice ST damage chain that also debuffs a mobs to hit! Also, finally, what I consider one of the best build up powers in the game Cons: not a ton…errr not a lot, um almost no AoE. You get Shadow Maul…. And a couple of your buffs are AoE damage, but not great and not often. Psi hole, like Shadow Maul not going to talk a lot about this. It is real. Stop playing with it (do not try to “fix it”). Move on. That’s it. The grand list of what is wrong. If you want a insanely sturdy Brute that can lay into hard single targets like a Scrapper then welcome to the world of Dark/Invulnerability
  5. Do not forget to use P2W temp stun grenade and hand grenades. I honestly have no idea why anyone would want to do this, but I am soloing every contact in the game, so I got no room to talk lol
  6. I would suggest Energy/Invul. There is not a ton of Psi damage (any?) and therefore you will be nigh unstoppable. Then.... Energy (since the rework) is a premier set. After that it comes down to mechanics. Get a warburg nuke. temp pets, etc. When you get to the toughest fights (1-3 total?) just start pulling rabbits out of your hat My personal fav (and main) is Dark/Invul Brute. reworking some ideas from an old SS?Invul Hyperstrike made. Here is what my thoughts are on a nigh unkillable Dark/Invul. Solo you can swap out taunt for Touch of Fear. 8. They have it on the to do list. Should be nerfed in the next issue or two
  9. I think most are probably activating the power and watching the fireworks...
  10. Have you lost your mind? Being defeated is inevitable. And, as previously pointed out, necessary for badge progress. Devs putting timers on missions and then adding a LOT of difficulty in achieving goal.... that is infuriating. Dying? meh.
  11. I think that was more “agree to misunderstand” lol. I prob was not clear. I was saying it does cost a billion once you start doing that. And on toons that i love this will happen, sometimes with the alt build as well
  12. once you start boosting and combining Hami DSyncs to get +5 you really are sliding into the sockets on a carpet on Inf. So ....yes.
  13. Not everything is available in Ouro. But every badge is. There is a lot (a lot) of grindy filler that is not in Ouro. You will not miss it. Your plan to 50 then see the world is completely viable in the game
  14. Do you want to invest? This is a good question. Not as important as you think in the modern game. Respecs are a pain but they are cheap (million inf a pop if not free) and infinite. So you can slap a ton of good stuff on an alt for a week and see if tou like what happens. Necessary for Dom experiments and farm builds usually. They are spendy Do you need a billion infamy build? Hmmm. My farmer has a billion inf farm build with winters and all sorts of great crap. But that build is useless in real game outside farm map. So i made an alt build for it that ran 2-3 hundred million, tops. There are a ton of solid builds out there that are in the low hundred million range. Sure, a Dom loves purple sets but there are many archetype and powersets that do fine on pretty standard builds. Seriously. Good luck and experiment as much as you want. Respecs are cheap. Get an alt base with storage for a few hundred enhancers and be the mad scientist
  15. I looked where the stairs usually are. By the vators. The floors are mismarked somehow. Vators go 1-->2--->3--->2 So I thought maybe there was a different trick. Nice it is so confusing and different than anything else in the game. Gives that element of quality.
  16. There appears to be no way to "get to the roof of the mission" I have killed everyone in the mission. i freed sir bedwetter. i have been up and down the elevators. i have looked for stairs. This is hours of fun. If only I could meet the Dev that wrote it.
  17. You look funny and you are a terrible burden on your poor mother.
  18. I think they do Ass Game in a different forum.
  19. It does give me a serotonin boost when someone in game is like “are you Snarky from the forums?” My name i have shifted quite a few times to different characters. But every character that has worn the name for the last year is my Nosferatu. Suit cape etc. as close as I can get ( which is not far off, we could use some limb sliders to really push the oddness. ) My current project takes this concept to the Nth degree. I am soloing every contact in the game (blue red gold) for every mission they offer until they say go away. EVERYONE WILL KNOW SNARKY!!!
  20. Ooooh that mission. Whoever designed that needs to have pliers applied to soft tissue I ran this at -1 on my storyline Brute. I hunted the mobs nearest the enemies exit goal. Then i would race back to see if there were enemies on the move. I picked off the closest group i could find then raced back. It was dicey towards the end as I had less than 30% leeway left. So glad it completed My Brute had no ranged attacks and was using P2W jet as a travel power. With a “real” toon this strategy would work far better
  21. I think some players have a costume suppository. The things I have seen them pull out of their butt....
  22. Its not the vet levels. At 50 (before too but 50 the nitrous kicks in ) there are a number of things that are game changers. Incarnate powers. Choose the right ones snd BAM. Archetype and powersets play a BIG role. The “build”. Having a great build is very important for speed running. Finally, understanding how to use your character and the mission goals. These factors will determine whether you are speeding along or casually strolling
  23. In my opinion jumping to a less populated server will increase your issue not decrease it. This is due to the fact you will have even less options. If you want to team you will need to fit in there I would recommend just keep learning. You said, I believe, that you have not 50d yet. If you want to experience late game mechanics without a 50 pwning the mission jump onto any TF SF or Trial whose level cap is 45 or less. This will not solve all problems but it will help. Our SG does an ITF speed run in 10-13 minutes. After months of practice I feel useful 20-50% time depending on my map luck lol. There is a rock solid community of speed runners in the game. I am not one The SG I joined ( Cosmic Council, Excelsior) does very serious runs almost nightly. But the SG also caters to the casual crowd with “crawl through content” and “learning the lore” type events regularly. Finding a community that is interested in the things you are interested in will be key. This might not mean joining an SG. This might mean learning where the non speed run players hang out and what stuff they do. I would again suggest looking for 45 or less PUG groups advertising “not a speed run”. Good luck
  24. I take the P2W Phase shift on many characters. It is rarely used I often forget it. Two memorable recent uses: 1) last Synapse mission, a Brute running through the mission to get to end. 2) same Brute running through Oranbega on a Treespec to get to the tree and vine room. It is literally a game changer when you need something exactly like it and nothing else will suffice.
