  1. My natural tendency is to run Brutes. Which I mostly do, sometimes Tanks. When I want a challenge I try to start running squishies. Been on a string of them for a few weeks. Sentinels, Blasters, Doms, now I am on a Blaster again. Last night I had just switched to my Blaster and was battling it out. I was like "I'm mezzed" Crap, forgot breakfrees. uh, t1 t2 t1 t2 crap.
  2. A huge commitment to a character. But it sounds like you are one foot in. Let me encourage you. Using AE to write basic fights and story arcs for your character in Kings Row would in fact be writing your own characters comic book. Then playing it! His/her own personalized villains and weekly dramas played out in battles to save Kings Row. I wish you good fortunes
  3. I remember when debt was a real thing. A very real discouraging thing. Especially in the 30s doldrums. Oh, those days.
  4. lol, I just rolled a Dark Armor tank to TANK lol. But I built him that way. My "main" is a dark/dark brute, that is tanky, but teams may not believe he is tanking...at all. No taunt, semi-steralthed. loves to range a half hallway further than the team for fresh spawns...
  5. i always like the chicken costumes. havent seen one lately. done right they are creepy
  6. Anything that is complex should be treated with respect. In the LRSF there is a segment of the mission where you need to get a (key? code?) and it is in a side room, with complex multilevel architecture, and it is PACKED with LB. If one Tank could walk through there and collect all the agro, keep walking (to the beginning of the map?) then maybe get teleported back to team. Yawn. One Tank or Brute splashes in, absorbing the first wave. everyone starts killing and you WORK to the objective. Quickly as possible, but always uses a nod to strategy and tactics. Because as soon as 18 people show up anyone who is not armored to the yang is in deep yin.
  7. One of the major <full stop> holdups to me running some power sets are the animations. Stone Armor. I was so happy on live running a SS/Stone Brute. Until Granite. So....my concept and character just got generic'd. Sigh. Never ran it again. I have this issue with Fire Melee and Ice melee as well. The sword. Its here. Its gone. Makes no sense. If you have an ice sword, why would you punch someone? Anybody? Just throw out a guess... I have some wonderful ice and fire concepts that I tend to run on squishies. I would try these on Brutes. would love to. But the swords....no, just...no. I am not a big MM player, but I have similar problems with the pets. I could full on make a Dark/Necro MM. Zombies all day long. Where the heck did the sword wielders come from? Do we have a crusader graveyard in the Rogue Isles I missed? Or maybe we are just digging up Cos-Players? I could almost deal with the lich. But the sword thugs. Nope. Just had to rant as I got sidetracked over 3 projects in a row over costume/animation issues. I don't suppose there are some generic animations on the way for anything? Or ...ooooh...a pure zombie necro MM?
  8. this should be copied and posted every few entries at this point. until everyone has read it. just Warhol this thing through the thread
  9. THis. It is so much easier to kill groups after they have clustered around the tank/brute/stalker...sorry scrappers. It is great to constantly have new players. Yes! It is frustrating to team with them sometimes. Like, really? you are adding so much work here dude lol
  10. When I started you had to walk both ways uphill. In the snow. Seriously though, we have players here who have played since issue 1. I came in later, bought the Good vs Evil edition. Back then Fitness was a pool you had to buy into. No inherent Stamina. It was fugly. I ran Brutes. (Still do) It was a ....show until around level 20. You could not do much for more than a minute of combat. I used rest as a cooldown power lol. Fight, kneel, fight, kneel. These days. Dwayne Johnson has a motivational video on Enhancement on youtube. Wait, different subject. Funny though. Enhance. Priority. Panacea in Health, Performance Shifter Proc in Stamina. Then, add Numina and Miracle procs. If still sucking air add Perf Shifter End in Stamina to two-set it. Then maybe a +End Mod SO in Stamina as well. If your AT build has any other End solving powers (many do) utilize them correctly. Slot the equivalent of at least 1 SO Endurance Reduction in each End hungry power. Aside from my asides that is a very brief solution to ALL your endurance issues. Watch the video though. I stilll do every couple months. Its a hoot.
  11. I learned (in this thread!) that agro cap is a simple line of code attached to the map. Or something like that. You are suggesting adding all sorts of subroutines to it? If Brute... If Tank....If Stalker.... Then what happens on teams? Ooof.
  12. Yeah...I see it now. Thanks. 16....not enough. 18...too much. It has to be ...correct. And that's Numberwang! Let's rotate the board.
  13. after looking at this it made a lot more sense and i shifted a couple things around. My MiDs differs slightly on value from in-game. I cannot figure why. But with this build I have very high resists: S/L 89.66% Fire/Cold 83.55% Energy 89.62% Neg/Psi 90% and Toxic only 72.38%. But unless they develop a Toxic Tarantula Farm I should be okay 🙂 Endurance is fine, except when drainers are around, then I have to use End Rec power. Havent tried exemplaring yet. Need to do some low TFs. Alpha is T4 in game, still opening up everything else. 14. Levelling I used Health 3 slotted with Procs and Stamina 2 slotted with Perf Shift. Also my slotting was different due to lack of purple sets. Great tip on Gauntleted Fist! I totally missed that searching for bonuses. Now that I am 50 I am chasing Cardiac Core all day lol. Have some Transcendants I can e-mail. He will make it lol. I too am concerned about End issues, at least when exemplaring. I may need to reconfigure that a bit after testing. Thank Parabola!
  15. I am ever alting. Well, i play one toon for a couple months. Then. spin through like 15 characters, most 30d, some 50d. Some incarnated. I been on a Dark Dark Brute since November. Then. A couple weeks ago... So. I started with my build a ranged blaster. This has been an obsession for years. I am still unhappy. The damned description says ranged and the design is customized to Blapper. Sigh. Came close. Elec. Then...Doms! After trying a few (I almost always start with grav or ice I started dialing in. Grav Dark ranged def build I started to incarnate and an Ice Psi PBAoE monster I got to 40. Then, on a whim Friday night I dusted off an old Dark/Invul Tank I had left sitting all purpled up and incarnated out. Just ran it for a Synapse. And realized. This was the Dom I wanted. I have said it before, Tanks are a one trick Dom and they are custom built to pull off that trick better than any other AT is built for their job, hands down. I probably did not even make that up. I read things that are true and just hold onto them forever. The Tank was the PB Dom I wanted and was trying to create. So. I started a Dark Dark Tank. Have run Both Posis, Synapse, a Yin. Now in a farm just rounding 46. Dark is difficult until fully mature. I chose an oddball build. I am less focused on Defense than I am on pushing resists. Dark has no Defense Debuff resist and relies on its Auras and to hit debuffs, along with Stealth to survive. My Dark Dark Brute is quite the joy. Until I get pasted with every Energy weapon in the universe. A little less fun then. Anyways, here is my attempt at a Dark Dark Tank. Hope you enjoyed the long winded explanation on how I got here. 16. Dead horse. Someone else said camel. What are we doing here. Why is someone having a cow? Have you herd about this issue?
  17. Perhaps a more useful question is how hardcoded 17 is? It started off unlimited, but seriously how much is now dependent on that number without anyone knowing testing it? Perhaps give Tanks an inherent pet at a certain level? 35? 40? 50? That can grab another 17 but then just funnel the mobs right to the tank? or be symbiotic like a MM pet except whatever hate the pet grabs just goes right onto the Tankers armor/defenses/health? The pet becomes a defacto appendage of the Tank and gets around breaking anything dependent code-wise on the agro cap of 17. PS, if you do the pet, for the love of Paragon either make the thing customizable or able to be invisible. I will not run a Tank whose only choice is a mekman helper or some other nonsense.
  18. and that's numberwang. now lets spin the board

I tend to run Doms just on teams. I actually generally team on everything except on specific "Solo all Redside" project type stuff. So just trying to figure out how to be in the shit amongst 7-23 companions and 30-100 baddies and not get hate

Thank you. I just looked at this again for a few minutes. It seems, at first glance, Ice has a TON more area coverage with its powers. Lot of BIG footprint stuff. I want a ton of output from this build as far as what I am screwing with. If you are going to be a PBAoE battery then the order of the day is to light it up! lol, er, right?

I have been trying for years to build a ranged squishy. Actually have come close to being happy a few times. My latest Grav/Dark is a decent ranged build. But in doing so I have, slowly, come to get more comfortable in close with squishies. As I was researching I came across a few powersets that seemed very powerful for up close and personal work. Ice/Psi/Soul looks like a glass supernova. At least to me. I looked at Dark as the primary for the to hit debuffs and the PBAoE , but the Location Hold is a bitch for me to work with. Ice gives even Blasters control, and the PBAoE hold is what I want. The Artic Air fits well. Psi gets Shockwave and drain psyche. nuff said. Soul gives one of the best gimick buff in the game if it works like the brute version. Soul Drain. AND Dark Consumption. I am actually going to build this thing and see if I can run it. armor....ooof. Have not started looking at MiDs yet. Ranged Def is near worthless... try for S/L? Any thoughts would be appreciated. This will be.....either great or horrid. But it will...be...EPIC
  25. Well reasoned and presented analyses. Even better from someone who is 1) running their first 50 2) enjoys the set. I cannot stress enough how important it is to listen to opinions like these. Recognize value. First rule.
