  1. I'll second/third/nth the taking of everything in Staff save Precise Strike. Will also mention that - depending on set bonus chasing of course - you can slot Achilles' Heel resdebuff into Mercurial Blow, LotG+rech into Guarded Spin, and FF+rech into Eye of the Storm, Serpent's Reach and Sky Splitter. If you're into that 🙂
  2. Thanks! No Overwatch inspiration - I don't know the game/characters at all, so any resemblance is purely coincidental.
  3. Been a bit of a dry spell with new characters, but I was inspired tonight to revisit one of my old heroes and see what I could do for a makeover. Max Damage is an Energy Melee / Bio Armour Scrapper, his abilities powered by a fusion of bleeding edge tech & alien DNA. The makeover started with trying a lot of colour combos before I finally convinced myself to go bright and bold. After a couple of large-scale changes, I ended up retaining the majority of his original costume - turns out it was really just the torso that I wasn't happy with. The big breakthrough on this new look was using Ascension chest detail without the radiance effect (which shows off the glowing circles underneath), and the Perplex pattern on the chest/back. I rarely add patterns to bare-chested characters, but in this case I'm very pleased with the way it aligns with the Cybertech Spine and provides some framing for the chest piece and his new, more alien-inspired shoulder armour.
  4. Happy to help. She runs really smoothly, and churns through content. I notice very little downtime, usually only when I choose to wait for Savage Leap to recharge for an alpha engagement (it's not entirely necessary tho). Lethal damage is lethal damage, what can you do. Beta Decay helps get past that to an extent, as do the procs. Savage Strike > Maiming Slash > Savage Strike > Vicious Slash is seamless and endlessly repeatable against hard targets thanks to her absurd recovery & end discount from Blood Frenzy. Rending Flurry puts in work for AOE, and the proc nukes (I'm counting Savage Leap, Radiation Therapy & Ground Zero) help bring it up. She's not necessarily an AOE monster but I have no complaints. (Honestly tho, the Savage Leap > Rending Flurry alpha leaves a lot of dead minions in its wake, so I have more time to focus on single target & throw in RF at the end of my chain as needed for cleanup.) Full disclosure: I still have a number of pieces to finish before I achieve what I've posted - purpled winters and some of the procs still missing. Once I get there, and fill my incarnates, I expect better things to come. The biggest hurdle with her, honestly, is the shockingly low recharge. But I built her to hit the melee def cap while retaining solid resists, and that was where my tradeoff came from.
  5. Yeah, it doesn't seem like a popular combo. I've asked about it twice with no replies, and been the only reply to another post a few weeks ago. Such is life. I enjoy running mine; slowly making incarnate progress thanks to altitis. Take what you like out of my build.
  6. Taking a stab at these very blank slates! darkvillain.costume sonicvillain.costume
  7. Yeah, this feels like one of those "I wish we had elongated arms and legs & more weird head shapes" kinda guys. The simple look works for sure tho.
  8. The Freaklympics arc from Colin Larson has a cool map at the end. And if you're looking for badges, hit up Laura Brunetti (Mystical Saviour) and Laurie Pennington (Redeemer). Laurie's arc also offers some cool lore/history tidbits.
  9. Looks solid to me. Very similar numbers to my build - you have way more recharge thanks to all the purples, and Musculature vs my Agility - and outside of eating toxic damage for breakfast I've found mine performs well in general content. Yours should be at least as good. (Also I might sandbag your build for eventual purple upgrade aspirations!)
  10. Tried a palette-swap look, with a lot more "busy-ness" in the elements to accentuate the jagged electrical nature & a different take on ice crystals. galvac.costume
  11. I usually run 4pts on squishies, 12pts on Dark & Fire Armour, and for the rest of the armour sets take what's offered (tho I echo the +4 on Elec Armour sentiment).
  12. Something out of my usual scope right from get-go... went for the demonic base with tech & bio-tech upgrades. Hopefully something will spark (hah!) some more creative ideas. hellec.costume hellec-powers.powerCust
  13. Thanks both of you! I like the pops of colour vs. my very muted post-apoc look; and never underestimate the rule of cool for costume choices. In both costumes there are some pieces that I've overlooked in the past, so much appreciation for expanding my options. I"ll run some missions with these and see how they feel in action. It seems entirely likely that this will be one of those heroes with multiple looks.
  14. Honestly, just a lot of trial and error! It's not a perfect match but it was as close as I could get in limited time.
  15. This is Last Man Standing. Invul/Dark Tanker. Mutant origin. Backstory more or less irrelevant - he is all about the name. He's gone through a couple incarnations. Started out as a scrawny punk with a bit of a thing for pink, known for never starting the fight but always ending it. I recently re-imagined him as a post-apocalyptic wasteland survivor, with more obvious mutations. Despite my best efforts, neither really appeals to me or feels like it rises to the inspiration of his name; so here I am, cap in hand, asking the costume community for help. Of note: while both my looks retained the hairstyle, tank top, belt and jeans, I'm not actually wedded to any particular costume parts. Similarly, while I've gone with pink and purple (respectively) for his dark melee attacks, power colour is up for grabs as well. So - what does Last Man Standing look like to you?
  16. Great use of the space pirate no-hand for his shield arm!
  17. That's what I figured you meant! Looking at my 2 mids builds, running 3x double-heal-proc gives up 10% F/C/AoE defense (it retains capped S/L/E/N), 12% F/C resist, and a smidge of recovery. Damage losses are ~10 points in LB, ~30 in ZB, and a whopping ~100 in TC (which previously had 3 damage procs). On the surface it looks like some tweaks could be made to find a happy medium. Thanks @Galaxy Brainfor the thread, as I'm sure I wouldn't have considered this approach despite having done similar before.
  18. Tempting to try this on my up-n-coming Elec/Invul. The heals would shore up the long cooldown in Dull Pain. Only ("only") downside is this would lose all the capped typed defenses plus some damage procs. I don't know how to number to determine if the tradeoff is worth it. (I'm familiar with the concept in general - my Shield/Elec tanker runs the heal procs in all her attacks and I know that works well, so here it's just a matter of what the build gives up for it.)
  19. I have a fair number of 50s, most of which I enjoyed playing all the way up (a couple I got close & then stubbornly pushed to the end!). Various stages of incarnates, I think only one has reached a single T4 alpha, with most just having the T1 alpha slotted. I dust them off on occasion, but haven't jumped into much endgame content with them. Tons of characters in the 30s and 40s, as I either lose interest or find a new shiny. Got a couple keeping me invested who will eventually reach 50. As far as play levels go, I find the most enjoyment in pre-40 content, especially TFs. As has been mentioned, tactics and AT roles play a larger part, so it feels more like a team and less like 8 solo artists.
  20. That's some high praise there! Looks good... and I have to say, I think this is the first time I've seen that pants design used where I actually like it! (srsly I can never get it to work, so kudos to you)
  21. Some great designs up there! Throwing my hat into the ring as well because why not. Taking a different tack with less armour & more focus on the cybernetic pieces in the original to bring out the tech flavour. betacom.costume
  22. Yeah it definitely flops guys outside the visual. Fire/Ice is my main farm toon and it's very noticeable in the double spawn aggro events. Couldn't tell you what the actual number is tho, I don't pay that much attention!
  23. Nice work on this (and also, if you're on Excelsior, sorry not sorry 🙂 for taking the name Misadventure!)
  24. Funny, I've been looking at something to revamp my Fire/Ice! I haven't looked at his build since pre-buff days, so it's long overdue. Gonna take a good look through this and prolly poach a whole bunch.
