I played the game on Live since Issue 1 (took a break between Issue 8 and 10) all the way up to sunset. I came back to Paragon City here on Homecoming when they were running just one server (Torchbearer) with very long waits in the queue to even get into the character select screen... and I will tell you this: I hesitate and often shy away from announcements of teams forming for alphabet soup. I don't know what MoMAG is because there is so much content that I don't want to have to figure out what someone is referring to by whatever the commonly used acronyms or abbreviations are. If I see it over and over because they're having a difficult time getting enough people to join, I might ask what those letters mean... but generally I'm turned off by open calls for teams, Task/Strike Forces, trials, and whatever without knowing what they are. Should I learn what those things mean? Maybe... or maybe they should take the time to type out 2 or 3 full words to eliminate confusion. Someone says "Maria Jenkins missions LFM" and I know immediately what they're doing and want in. Cavern of Transcendence? I'm in. Give me an acronym and I'm just going to tune you out.

Am I the only one who thinks we're long overdue for new NPC content? On the blue side, we've lost Statesman and Sister Psyche. On the red side, the core AVs of Arachnos were already fairly slim pickings with the main boss and 4 subordinates. But beyond that, when running bank missions, it's always the same 2 heroes (in Mayhem missions) and 2 villains (in Safeguard missions) appropriate to the mission level. We had the addition of Foreshadow and Mirror Spirit with the addition of the Hollows and revamp of Faultline, as well as Rose Star & Spark Blade to the game lore even though they were never added to the game... and there's Faultline and Fusionette who show up in various places, which is the kind of thing I like seeing. The Shining Stars (Twinshot, Proton, Flambeaux, and Dillo) are another example of this. You can find them hanging out in the world and they have their own story arc to play through... would be nice if more than Flambeaux made appearances in the low level Safeguard missions. I'd love to see additions to the Paragon Heroes group that shows up in Mayhem missions and Rogue Isle Villains that show up in Safeguard missions. In a city full of heroes (and the isles full of up and coming villains), I think it would be nice to see a little more diversity. Why not make a contest of it? Let players submit their ideas perhaps in a small map AE mission so they can not only be seen in costume but with their chosen powers in action, as well as character bio when you right click on them... or, if that's too much, then maybe screen shots with costume file attached, along with a description that includes selected powersets and a short bio. With the level ranges split into 9 categories, doubled for hero and villain, that's 18 total "winners" to choose... if it's not too much trouble to add new characters to the Paragon Heroes and Rogue Isle Villains, maybe even pick 2 winners for each alignment and level range for a total of 36 winners. Possibly create a new badge for the winners symbolizing their contribution to the game content, throw them some bonus merits or some other nice award (custom title, one of your fancy new enhancements, or whatever), and boom you've got new content and player participation to make everyone feel good about it.

New Day Job: Santa's Helper Day Job Location: Winter Forest Effect: I don't know... maybe improve chances of being "Nice" when opening Christmas presents, or maybe just a bonus of candy canes when the time goal spent in that location is reached. Something like 1 or 2 candy canes for every 21 days spent logged out there. That would be like 17 or 34 free candy canes... sure, let's call Santa cheap. It wouldn't be much of a head start on candy cane collecting when the holiday event begins, but it would be a fun badge to include.

That's hot. The two of them together would be quite... steamy.

Great costume, great naming. Love the font, too. Love everything about this. Great job! 😎

Keep on truckin'.

I updated Espionage with some additional costume slot usage. First off, her original Widow costume... a pretty basic thing, but it's just there to show her lack of commitment to the Arachnos cause and way of life. Such is the life of a spy. And to the right, something I came up with while thinking "very sexy librarian." Then we have her "Hello Nurse!" outfit for infiltrating medical facilities... and her 90s Bad Girl look, suitable for interrogations. A swim to an underground lair or escaping an exploding island requires some skimpy scuba attire... Hers comes with a collapsible rebreather worn on the neck. And finally, a good lady spy needs something to seduce her way through problems... also good for certain kinds of parties. And the last costume slot devoted to the black skirt in the original post; it's the same outfit without the red mini-jacket.

Very striking with the metallic bits on black tights. I like it very much.

Winter-Witch Ice Control / Ice Assault Dominator

You have 10 costume slots to work with. Why not do both, keep this bright orange and also make a grey one.
-
Not at all. I just had some basic ideas... name them, expand on them, go completely nuts with them. 😎

Need more mastermind primaries, so here's an idea: Self-Duplication Whether by science (clones or hard light constructs), magic simulacra, temporal manipulation, alternate reality summoning, mutant fission, technology (androids), or whatever... you call forth copies of your mastermind... but they have different abilities for whatever reason (pulled from timelines or realities where you're different or created with specific abilities to do things you yourself cannot). Basically use whatever was done for Illusion Control -> Phantom Army looking like the caster on each summoned pet. First tier pet has 3 copies, the first two are energy blasters and the third is a support buffer or debuffer. Second tier pet have a mix of elemental abilities. Third tier pet is a psychic powerhouse with a mix of melee & ranged abilities. Maybe also do a Thugs -> Gang War type power where you summon a bunch of weaker versions of yourself who run around hitting foes for Minor damage that has weak taunt and disorient effects. The sudden army of yourself befuddles foes, leaving them stunned or enraged at all the fakes. Attack powers in the set can vary, but I'm kind of partial to the illusory damage of Illusion Control -> Spectral Wounds. Perhaps it's just illusionary damage, or maybe it's a temporal effect where some of it wears off as time snaps back to normal, or maybe it's just an odd quirk of your science/magic/whatever you're throwing... the true nature of it is up to the player, but the MM's attacks still function like the Spectral Wounds power where the attacks hit hard first then some fades. Pets are summoned with whatever caster animation works for you... maybe take a vote to see what would be most popular. Pets show up where summoned with an effect of the CCDimensionShift costume change emote.

You know what I was recently thinking that we need? Mental Mastery for melee ATs to complement Psionic Melee. Subdual - Ranged, Moderate DoT(Psionic), Foe Immobilize (recycle from Blaster secondary -> Mental Manipulation) Dominate - Ranged, Minor DMG(Psionic), Foe Hold (reuse from Defender ancillary -> Mind Control but with reduced damage) Mental Blast - Ranged, Moderate DMG (Psionic), Foe -Recharge (reuse from Controller ancillary - Psionic Mastery) Read Thoughts - PBAoE, Foe -DEF, -To-Hit, Self +Insight - New power that briefly reduces nearby enemies' defense and to hit bonuses as you see what they're planning to do so you can adjust your own tactics to counter. - Use (perhaps) the animation for Super Reflexes -> Danger Sense Psychic Shockwave - PBAoE, Moderate DMG(Psionic), Foe Disorient, -Recharge (reuse from Dominator secondary - Psionic Assault but with reduced damage)

I like what Rebirth did with Ice Melee here.
Player2 replied to Solarverse's topic in General Discussion
I absolutely love this kind of customization attention to detail. I was glad to see that stone melee offered it by having with and without hammer attacks... but sadly, the same option was not extended to Blaster secondary Earth Manipulation melee attacks that have that big dumb hammer. Not only would I love to see this swordless animations for Ice Melee here, but I'd also love to have swordless fire melee attack options. -

Just messing around to try stone melee on scrappers, and I like the way the red stands out on this dull blue-grey outfit. Troublesome Stone Melee / Ninjitsu Scrapper
