Sovera Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 People have been going on forever about this combo as a brute/scrapper but mentioning the mediocre ST damage, something which Stalker seems to fix with AS. I've lifted this build from the Scrapper forums and tried to import it as a Stalker, though removing their Fire Mastery and putting in Aid Self since I'd like self healing that does not involve just pills. I'm nearly soft capped lacking only a bit over melee, but the scrapper version had 72% resists and with the porting the stalker only has 46%. Would anyone care to look at the first draft and see what could be improved? Villain Plan by Mids' Villain Designer 1.962 http://www.cohplanner.com/ Click this DataLink to open the build! MajikMayhem81 Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Was going to work on this myself, after reading that shield charge and lightning rod don't break hide. I'm assuming Thunder Strike does crit from hide? Also the taunt powerpool has an ability that gives regen and recovery, and I wondered how that stacked against aid self, considering it has a longer cd. I've never even used aid self extensively, but can the interrupt from moving be mitigated with interrupt io's or will that happen regardless?
MajikMayhem81 Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Also I'd try posting this on the coh subreddit, since you will get an answer really quick. I'd be interested to see some feedback on what to prioritize after defense.

Zerethon Posted June 2, 2019 Posted June 2, 2019 Thanks for the help, Auroxis, more things to ponder. I'm still wanting Aid Self instead of pills but I suppose it is just wishful thinking. Nothing much must survive the initial unloading of AoEs. I don't bother with self heals unless the set has one built in. Generally on my Broadsword/shield i don't get hit enough to care, and if i do it's not hard to jump back, heal, and then charge back in and beat faces Generally the idea of playing stalker is "it can't hurt me if it's dead" and having 2 AOE skills that do damage and an easy perma hasten (Between all the ST/AOE and defense skills of shield, it's not hard to get it) you do so much damage and your defenses are solid enough between the extra def stalkers get that nothing is a serious issue The only notable thing, if your def set doesn't have KB Prot, acro is a good choice, but shield has plenty of mez protection. Notes: Ditch ladder, it's damage is meh, the cone is tiny, and it's super slow, swap to havoc at level 1 and swap it with charged brawl to have a massively faster DPS loop Fighting is "eh" adding 2 more end-heavy toggles for some minor extra resist isn't worth it, Drop the pool for Grant cover, Stealth (2x LOTG's easy) and something else. Auroxis Posted June 2, 2019 Posted June 2, 2019 Thanks for the help, Auroxis, more things to ponder. I'm still wanting Aid Self instead of pills but I suppose it is just wishful thinking. Nothing much must survive the initial unloading of AoEs. Rebirth Destiny really helps in that department. Relying on green pills while leveling should hurt a bit but you could always get Aid Self and respec out of it once you get Rebirth. 1
ClassH Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Here is mine, instead of heals I go with rune of protection, alternating with one with the shield, of course defense capped. I never really need to heal and with both up I am nearly resist capped to everything but PSI. This is a relatively cheap build with no purples or ATOs. Squishor Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 So I had a quick question with the big mini nuke aoe's and hide. I am kinda new so please excuse this if it was already answered.. If neither LR or SC break hide then do they have any extra bonus to crit while you are hidden? What would be an opener then, pop 1 mini nuke then AS? jump to the next group use other mini then AS again? I am not sure on the mechanics of aoe's from hide with regards to crit chances.

That's exactly how it works. - Simple guide for newcomers. - Money making included among other things. - Tanker Fire Armor: the Turtle, the Allrounder, the Dragon, and compilation of Fire Armor builds. - Tanker Stone Armor: beginner friendly (near) immortal Tanker for leveling/end-game and Stone Armor framework. - Brute Rad/Stone and compilation of Brute Stone Armor builds.

Most people don't use AS from hide. It is too slow. But it allows you to open with thunderstrike for the aoe crit chance, which you could have just done after a fast AS+rehide too and probably have a tighter spawn, but that is what most do. I think the best thing about them is they allow hide to kick in even while you are dealing damage. So if you time it right as you move from spawn to spawn you can initiate a bit faster and still get off a hidden attack. I personally open with an epic aoe before shield charge. they are bigger than the melee aoe's and have a higher target cap. melee aoes tend to be pretty small, so it is better to wait until the spawn gathers around you a bit, Fast AS+rehide then melee aoe. Excepting of course the times that a spawn is already packed unusually tight. Earth/Psi Dom - AV killer Arsenal/Sav Dom - AV Killer Poison - a guide to the most deadly poisons
Squishor Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 Ok, Thanks for the answers. I guess one last thing I am a little unclear on is either LR or SC then going to get any of those crit chance bonuses or is it just things like thunderstrike or as etc?
Drake Hellspawn Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 I have shadow meld and rune of protection; with the healing procs.....he feels pretty invincible. I am pretty close to have Shadow Meld as permanent. (I think maybe it's down like 4 seconds). The lowest defense I have is in the 40 percent range and resistance is mostly in the 60 percent range. I agree that I don't like Jacob's ladder. Chain is good and Havoc and Charged brawl. I usually don't take One with the shield. It isn't affected by Haste etc. I find the cool down isn't worth. Of course, I am not sure I know what I am doing.
Call Me Awesome Posted February 11, 2020 Posted February 11, 2020 I didn't get Aid Self on my Elec/Shield and never really missed it much leveling up, the situations where I needed a heal were rare enough that the occasional green candy was plenty. I DID get Rebirth for my incarnate power and it's sometimes useful doing silly things like farming massive spawns back to back at x4 +8. I also think it's best as a Stalker set although it's quite good on any AT, the Assassin's Strike we get does tend to solve the ST damage lack the other AT's face with Elec. Guardian Survivor, occasional tanker and player of most AT's. Guides: Invulnerability Tankers, The first 20 levels. Invulnerability Tankers Soft Cap defense Spoiler
Tux Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 Thought I might just ask on this thread if that's alright! 1) Best Incarnate Powers? I'm thinking, Musculature, Ageless (Or Rebirth), Reactive, Assault. 2) I noticed a few builds have different epics, any clear winners? How do people find Water Spout? I notice it's in your build Auroxis. Same quesiton about Shadow Meld. Cheers.

I've only made this combo on a Scrapper, but those are the Incarnates I chose, and will choose again when I make this combo as a Stalker. If not Reactive, I like Degenerative too. 1 The Trevor Project

Shockacon Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 I just hit 50 and have played a couple of incarnate missions on mine (picked up Musculature and Reactive after much internal debate). Yeah... this has been a fun toon to level. Stepping into a group and letting loose with Lightning Rod and throwing in a chain induction has been a convenient way to thin out herds and then picking off stragglers. Historically I've played more ST-centric toons but this one, so far, is making me question what I was thinking before. I agree with your picks for Incarnate slots so far. They were what I've been leaning toward. As far as Epics go, I played up thru the blue side, but on my redsiders I tend to lean toward Mu Mastery. 1

Yes, but I forget the answer and don't have my build in front of me. One of them is fucking terrible. My Elec/SD Scrapper is living the retirement life making billions on the market, so I haven't fought with her in a bit. Edit: I'm assuming here that the answer is the same on Stalkers and Scrappers. Check in game for which has better damage per activation and choose that one. Edited February 27, 2020 by MunkiLord The Trevor Project
Tux Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Water Spout opinions? I see people like Moonbeam too.
Gyffes Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 Waterspout has it's uses but I've found with Elec/Shield I like to run Body since I have enough AoE and extra endurance is always nice. I went a little different route with my build but I attached it for reference. M/R/A defense soft cap and capped S/L resists with decent recharge. It's served me well through incarnates.
