Long long ago, in the cold Siberian snow,

Even as a child, Inessa was always wild.

She preferred to be alone, wandering woods far from home.

It was talking to a bear, that made a neighbor stare,

And an overprotective swan, that followed her along.

But suspicions would not abate, when she was seen to levitate. 

In her small and sleepy town, the outrage swirled around.

‘Witchcraft’ they said, ‘a curse’, or ‘even something worse.’

They tried to burn her at the stake, but the flames just wouldn’t take.

They stabbed her with a sword, but she seemed to be quite bored.

After several other tries, to which she merely rolled her eyes,

They bound her hands and feet, and tossed her in the sea.

Returning with the full moon, all glowing white and blue,

The villagers cowered in fear, she laughed loud and clear,

‘Well, I enjoyed drowning the most, but that also won’t kill a ghost.’

 

Inessa Khertek was born in 1899. Contemporaneous accounts vary as to whether she was actually killed by her villagers as a witch and came back or if she’d been undead for many years. The most famous song though, suggests the latter. Inessa is suspected of the assassination of many authoritarian leaders over the years. Though she is known to use cold powers generally when working collaboratively with hero orgs, subduing and arresting villains, she apparently is quite skilled at possession. Many of the assassinations she is credited with were forced suicides.

Techno-Bunny

Technology Blaster - Archery/Devices/Body

 

Kelly Kane, former Paragon Playmate of the Year, was hired to model in several photo shoots for well-known photographer, Lamont Bannon.  Unbeknownst to Kelly, Lamont was a super-villain mastermind who turned the models he hired into his minions to infiltrate Paragon’s elite society and rob, black-mail, and even murder them.

 

However, with Kelly, it was different for Lamont.  He was in love.  When Kelly showed up at the various photo shoots, instead of using his normal mind control powers, he tried to seduce her.  He used every trick in the book that a “normal” and un-super-powered person would use to get her to go out with him.  However, Kelly was not attracted to him; he was creepy, smarmy, and rude for some reason (go figure) – she just had no idea of the real reason why.  Refusing advance after advance, Kelly finally told Lamont off and quit the photo shoots refusing to ever work with him again.

 

Furious, Lamont tracked her; stalked her; chased her; and finally, he sent his other minion models after her to “convince” her to come back.  This is how Kelly found out Lamont Bannon, infamous photographer of the most beautiful people in Paragon City and the world, was nothing but a petty criminal.  And Kelly was determined to take him down and free all the models under his control – plus, she knew he would never stop stalking her and with the Paragon Police Department not giving any help either, she had to do something on her own.

 

Having amassed a vast fortune from being Playmate of the Year and investing wisely in a new store in Paragon City, named Wentworth’s, and using her multiple advanced degrees in engineering, physics, and ancient literature (a girl’s gotta have hobbies) – Kelly is able to afford and develop the latest in technology and weapon systems.  However, Kelly’s favorite weapon is the bow and arrow – it's silent, deadly, and just plain sexy.  So, with weapon in hand and many technological gadgets at her disposal, Kelly was ready to go after Lamont.  She now just needed a costume and an identity.

 

Opening her closet, all she saw were bunny costumes from being a Playmate.  Since she was in a hurry to get out there and track down Lamont, she didn’t want to waste any time picking an outfit or name – nor did she.  Kelly grabbed a random costume out of her closet, put on her gear, and headed to City Hall in Atlas Park to register as a hero with the city.  She quickly chose the name:  Techno-Bunny, and now she is out somewhere in Paragon City, trying to save its citizens and the beautiful people from Lamont Bannon’s evil control and schemes.

Victorious Star

Mutant Blaster - Energy/Martial Combat

 

Growing up, Victoria Star was never wanting for activities and was into just about everything a young girl could get into: dance lessons, gymnastics, piano lessons, and sports. She even loved helping her dad tinker with the car. However, her favorite activity was martial arts. She became quite good and from wining competitions, she earned the nicknames "Victorious Vicki" or “Vicki Victorious.”

 

Despite her family affluence, Vicki had friends from all walks of life. Freshman year of high school, she was walking a friend home through a gritty area of Kings Row when they were jumped by Skulls. It was during that encounter Vicki discovered her mutant abilities and being able to produce extreme bursts of energy.  Her parents wanted her to hide her powers until she was much older, but Vicki immediately registered with Hero Corps vowing she would do whatever she could to make sure no one ever felt scared to walk down a street like she and her friend did.

An accident.

Rose Parker was at the epicenter causing her genes to mutate with the Moscato Rosé in her blood stream. It altered her body's appearance. And she can now create the bubbly-beverage at will to use the bubbles as shields or weapons.

Savage melee/Energy Aura Brute

 

In game, I really enjoyed playing with the near invisibility of Energy Aura and various auras, bats, moths, a slime colored as blood, to flesh this character out.

Sergeant Shih [on phone]: Urgently in need of backup. We got twentyish Warriors. Ayers and I are barricaded in the upper room, on the west side of the warehouse. Urgent, they’ll hack through soon enough and some are climbing toward a window. Yes, correct. Thanks. Shih out.

 

Shih to Ayers: SWAT is on route from Central.

Ayers: That fast?! Wait, are those…..bats?

Shih: Nope. Gods. You don’t want to watch this.

 

Ayers: What? What?! Sergeant?

 

Shih: Moroaică.

Ayers: She’s a hero?

 

Shih: Not a hero and not backup, at least not officially. And more a ‘what’ than a ‘she’ Ask Dr. Toth. I’m no magical taxonomist. A Romanian vampire, witch, ghost creature…she doesn’t like the taste of cops at least.

As the screams stopped, the Moroaică crashed through the window. Her solid black eyes scanned the room and her beastly visage turned to a childlike but bloody smile. She gave the cops a thumbs up and was gone.

Tentatively coded as an individual magic super being, it should be noted further evidence is needed to confirm origin and if the subject is even one person. She was captured without struggle once by PPD and “leaked through a drain in the interrogation room,” after providing some useful intel on some Family leaders.

 

For one, there is no clear or consistent physical description of the subject. While she has been caught on security cameras, the footage is all at some distance and our ‘enhance’ software is on the fritz. When subject(s) gets close to cameras, they experience power surges or other glitches. Second, many eyewitnesses report that the subject's face seems to change over mere seconds. Some reported she seemed to take on the appearance of bystanders. These reports dovetail, if you will, with the shapeshifting ability.

 

Subject seems to most closely resemble the moroaice documented by our EU counterparts in the Romania office. The apparent pattern to her victims being known villains, and frequently powered ones, is unique however.

 

Powers include superhuman strength and speed, claws which have seen to cut through metal doors, flight (or at least extreme leaping), voice mimicry, fast healing, draining electrolytes, fangs and serrated teeth, subject’s jaw seems to be unfused (i.e. like a snake). There is some indication that subject’s reported shape shifting (moths, bats, rats) and stealth are probably telepathic. Nick o’ Time reported he could sense subject with his heat ‘vision’ in one spot while she appeared to be elsewhere shapeshifted. Notably, Nick also reported her body temperature was very high, probably 150-175 F.

 

PPD Internal Affairs also has a file on the subject, as it seems she may have hacked secured PPD channels or might be getting inside tips. Notably in this regard, SWAT has shown up for at least five operations to find all the wanted villains dead and boxes of donuts (with complimentary bloody handprints on the outside) ((with no discernible prints)).

I've posted some of this in the costume thread, but I was lvl 9 then and now that I'm almost 50 and have all my costumes, figured I post it all here....

 

The Joy of Clubbing 

(War Mace/Invuln/Mace Scrapper)

 

Joy Johnson practically lived at nightclubs--always dancing and partying. She raved with some Carnies in Pocket D one night and woke up the next day brainwashed and inducted into the Carnival of Shadows running the High Striker game where people try to ring the bell with a mallet. 

 

Later that week, heroes stopped the Carnival and Joy was set free from their magical mind-control before it permanently held. But Joy's mind hasn't been right since--she can't get enough of swinging mallets and clubs! 

 

Instead of fighting these urges, she registered with Hero Corps to put her new found passion of "clubbing" to good use. However, this passion can be too intense and she sometimes crosses lines to the dismay of Hero Corps. When not on patrol, Hero Corps encourages Joy to dance and party all night long in Pocket D, Paragon Dance Party, or even Studio 55 to burn off her over-enthusiasm of clubbing villains.

Chadsworth 'Chunk' Norris, the 'little' brother of famous martial artist, movie star and all-around good guy Chuck Norris; is a hero and villain fighter in his own right.  In fact, after managing older brother Chuck's Total Home Gym and healthy supplement capitalist empire for decades...and making his brother Chuck a household name and millions of bucks to boot; 'Chunk' is setting off on his own to tame the streets of Paragon City.  Yessir!  He's out to make a name for himself and show his older brother, and the world, it's Chunk's time to Rock the Roundhouse!

One of Metronome's attempts to place a Seer into a clockwork body, not even Praetor Tilman could salvage the mind within. This didn't stop Tilman from making use of the defective Seer as barter to her contacts in Arachnos.

A couple spelling notes: “crinckled” is spelled “crinkled”, I think “picular” is meant to be “peculiar”, and the “please” at the end should be “pleased”.

 

I’d also change “pleasing and cheerful” to “pleasantly cheerful” just to avoid repetition.

Thanks. Not only did I not catch those, neither did my doc editor, since I always wright them up there before pasting into CoH. I generally cannot write a sentence without some sort of error/ffs occurring.
