Just running through a few cases I've noticed where some costume parts from NPCs are available (Talons, Circle of Thorns, Longbow, Sky Raider porter pack) but others are not.

List of Examples:

- Wyvern Full Set and jetpack

WingFangAgent1.jpg

- Sky Raider set (Helmet, gloves, jumpsuit, flight pack)

- Rulu-Shin Gloves, Chest Detail

- Sybil dress (belt currently in costume creator)

- Leonard/Dr. Aeon hex gloves, chestplate

- Resistance (Commando pants, Veteran chest detail/shoulders (?), Heavy Hands Gloves, Heavy barrel helmet, Officer dual pistols)

- Praetorian Police heavy gauntlets, heavy shoulders, pants, heavy vest, heavy boots/greaves

- Knives of Vengeance tactical goggles (unable to find a good screenshot)

- Malta Sappers use Zero-G pack as an always on backpack, similar to Sky Raiders

I'm sure there's more out there, these were just the first to come to mind.

I'ma add Goldbricker Rocket Packs to that list.

It'd also be nice if the Circle of Thorns costume set was fully completed. Don't have the Mage belts or the tall Mage hats.

I want the power armour, cybernetic, and robotic parts that NPCs have but PCs don't whether they're War-Works, IDF, Council/Column robots, Clockwork, Nemesis, Rikti or what have you.

I particularly want arm cannons. Both the "big gun attached to arm" style of cannon that War-Works have and the "gun covering arm" style of cannon that Vandal and the Mekmen have.

I was told that NPC costumes are all one model: they aren't made up of bits that can be easily transposed. Having said this, a determined 3D modeller could possibly edit the model, so I wouldn't write off the possibility of one day seeing them as playable pieces.

One thing that I would like to see as a backpack is the black jump pack.

..It only takes one Beanbag fan saying that they JRANGER it for the devs to revert it.

The OroDevs working on the i24 servers already did this.

Did you realize that the Tsoo have a version of one of the men's baggy tops except they are sleeveless? It would be so nice to get that, you'd think male costume options would be there for showing arms off but that's not the case. If you go with robes or jackets sleeveless you can. Pretty much nothing else. In tights you can pick a T-shirt or tanker style pattern but you can't do any kind of Yakuza style tattoos (like the Tsoo have) and then put a T-shirt or tanker over top of that. Or just do bare skin with a pattern of your choice (say, vines) and then put tanker or T-shirt over that.

I want the 1960s Arachnos pieces, from AE.  (Are they actually used anywhere else in the game?)

Yes, they're in the Mender Tesseract Strike Force.

I've been playing around on Titan Icon with the -n parameter (NPC) to see what's in there.

The Roman dresses (Solaris is what's pictured in OP, but there's also a Sybil entry which Serene wears) are both entirely missing the abdomen portions, meaning they only work with the Sybil belt piece equipped.  Also, they're both chest pieces in there but there's lots of odd stuff like that (Mynx's "M" icon on her belt is a chest piece, for example).

That said, there are a lot of good-looking pieces in Icon's NPC stuff.  Particularly the Belt category, has lots of stuff that looks like it would require little/no artistic touch-up to import...

At least, that's what I'd say if I weren't aware of how hard I'm dunning-kruger'ing.  Anyway, I'm too lazy to upload/link the picture, but I've made a pretty good-looking (fidelity-wise.  NOT a strong fashion choice) NPC outfit starring:

-Selene's hair

-Silver Mantis torso/legs

-Diabolique chest detail and boots

-Penelope Yin's shoulders

-Some clawed Talon hands

-Lamashtu belt

The thing with some NPC parts is that the devs sort of... cheated to get some of them to work. If they knew a part was never going to be used on a player, they really only had to make it work in any situation that particular NPC would be in. Didn't always work out, though.

For example, the Cabal have that weird... spiny butt flap thing. It's rigged to their hat costume node (or whatever it's called), so whenever they look up (like when they use Snow Storm or Lightning Storm) it clips right through their stomachs. The reason that happens is because that piece was originally designed for the Coven, the witches from the Halloween events. The Coven only have Dark Blast/Dark Melee powers, so they never use an animation that makes their heads look up.

This is it, really. Character creation in this game is awesome and it is a shame that some cool parts are unavailable to players.

That said, adding some stuff to the list:

- Ghouls collars, manacles and assorted parts: https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/File:PaintedOne1.jpg

- D.U.S.T. ranger armor: https://paragonwiki.com/w/images//6/64/D.U.S.T._Ranger.jpg

- Seer parts, most importantly the tops, bottoms and headpiece: https://paragonwiki.com/w/images//2/2b/Seers_GR.png

- Awakened parts: https://paragonwiki.com/w/images//8/8f/Conduit.jpg (Picture is just one example, there are many more parts)

- Succubus top and bottoms: https://paragonwiki.com/w/images//0/0d/Succubus.jpg

- Menders parts not available already: https://paragonwiki.com/w/images//5/5b/Mender_Tesseract.jpg (Shoulder piece?)

- Any Carnival of Light/War/Vengeance part not already available.

- Mistress Nadia long skirt: https://paragonwiki.com/w/images//f/f1/Nadia.jpg

- Mother Mayhem everything: https://paragonwiki.com/w/images//4/47/Mother_mayhem.png

- Praetor Duncan belt: https://paragonwiki.com/w/images//0/01/Dominatrix2.jpg (possibly also in a male variant)

- Soreceress Serene everything: https://paragonwiki.com/w/images//9/93/TalonsOfVengeance_SorceressSerene.png

- Talons of Vengeance Oracle belt, but also hair perhaps: https://paragonwiki.com/w/images//f/fe/TalonsOfVengeance_OracleFire.png

In addition, although these are more uncertain:

- Night Widow gloves: https://paragonwiki.com/w/images//d/da/Night_Widow_Lt.jpg (they might actually be available once one unlocks a night widow tree power)

- Ditto for the Night Widow waistcape which is essentially like the basic one, but without the spider legs motif that appears on the Fortunata and basic version.

- Noble Savage everything: https://paragonwiki.com/w/images//2/20/Noble_Savage_%28FW%29.jpg (I have not played much with the huge body type, so maybe more than a few of the parts are available already).

Then, I don't think this is really possible but it would be absolutely, totally, fantastically AMAZING:

- Talons spiritualist snake tails: https://paragonwiki.com/w/images//f/f8/TalonsOfVengeance_SpiritualistShadow.png

I would enjoy seeing most, if not all, of the NPC costume pieces. Why not?  8)

Well, "why not" because some NPCs don't actually have separate costume pieces (most Freakshow, for example, are made of a single costume piece), and, as Trickshooter and Replacement mentioned, many NPCs have "cheated" costume pieces in that they're not what they appear to be (like a belt that's coded as a hat or a chest piece).

Hypothetically, those could still be converted into player pieces, but they'd take a lot more work to split them up into individual parts and/or to change the attachment location and the actual attachment point.  I think the newer minion NPCs from the last half-dozen or so Issues were made with an eye to eventually making many of their costume parts for players (in the Paragon Market, of course) in the first place, so those may be easier.

I think Homecoming devs follow the original devs' viewpoint that truly unique costume pieces from signature characters will not be given to players.  (Which is too bad, because I'd love Tyrant's shoulder pieces)

Freakshow, Lost and many of the "vintage" villain groups and NPCs work very differently as far as costumes are concerned. It took me forever to piece together a custom Freakshow for Paragon Chat, as the costume parts are pretty weird to work with (The Freakshow Mohawk, for example, also includes the top part of the mesh intended to go along with the rest of the head. Without it, my Freakshow is missing the top part of his skull!). Making these available (and able to work well with players) would definitely require a tremendous amount of work.

A lot of the newer, post-CoV villain groups (such as the revamped Rikti and CoT) are far more in line design-wise with player costumes (and as the CoT parts prove, quite feasible as player costumes). That said, I'd personally kill for the ability to make a proper Rikti, but I think that'd require making a new body type based on a modified male skeleton (that, or simply making the hidden Arm slider available for use in character creation). Parts like these would probably be a bit easier for conversion.

As for "signature" costume pieces... I'd say keep those unique to those characters.

Back sword scabbard like ninjas have but w/ dual swords. I thought this was in live??? We need decent deadpool and deathstroke homages. ;)

I find it odd that chars pull a sword off of thier back out of thin air.
