Gobbledygook
When CoH first came out, my first toon, Gobbledygook, was a claws/regen Scrapper. Of course, he was based off of my favorite comic character, Wolverine. I mean, I bought my first computer just so I could play this game. Come to find out, I didn't get one with a powerful enough GPU, so I had to take it in and get a new one put in. I loved that toon. I didn't even have any alts while I was playing him. I'm also one of the few who never got over the *ahem* adjustments *ahem* to regen that were made back in, what, I-4? Anyway, I've got that feeling that I need to revisit my old favorite. In todays' game environment, how would you build Wolvie? I know the most likely answer will be /WP, be I honestly don't know how to build for /WP. I know for /Inv you get some Def here, some Res over there, a little recharge, and you're basically unkillable. Also, does anyone know where best to put the ATO's. They are a long term goal, but I would like to get them. I know I'll need the kb to kd IO in shockwave

Gobbledygook
I appreciate the feedback, but like I said, I can't play regen anymore. It's a dead set to me. Bio has piqued my interest a little. I'll fiddle around with the build you provided as a starting point. I'll be on vacation next week, so I won't get to actually put any play time in until second week of July. Cheese Slicer
Claws/Regen is and always has been my main. Once you start throwing IO sets into it, it becomes a beast. If I were to choose an alternative to Regen though, I'd definitely go WP. It's one of those set and forget secondaries. Toggle everything on, then steamroll through enemies without a care in the world.
Sidious
I had a BS/Regen (remember those builds?) up until the end and he was godly by that time. But I see what you're getting at and fluff wise I just have a small comment, Sabretooth would be Savage/WP Brute. It would be nice to see the two builds compared.
Gobbledygook
I had a Claws/Reg as well, unfortunately, I just haven't been able to adjust to it since they changed IH. Maybe I should give it a try again. How many years has it been since I4, lol? I do plan on making a Sav/Wp brute, but it will have to wait until after this project, and my first ever Stalker are complete. Damned Altitis, flaring up again. Johnny Velocity
I'm a "bitter clinger" to my claws/regen Main from back in the the day - here is my current build for him (speed themed, not exactly Wolverine, more like Flash with speed healing). Clont
Any glaring holes that I missed? I tried not to make it to expensive, but I know performance comes at a cost. I am still pretty illiterate when it comes to enhancement slotting, but I'm noticing a distinct lack of +accuracy enhancements. I am quickly approaching level 50 on my Claws/WP scrapper and was looking for build ideas, but he already has some minor accuracy problems and I wonder how this build would run up against that? Gobbledygook
Follow Up boosts is basically Claws version of Build Up. If you hit with it, it makes it easier to hit with subsequent attacks, and of course, boosts your damage. It's fairly easy to stack it as well. Huantu
Is it just me, does this build only have 1 attack for the first 25 levels? And only 4 attacks in the total build?
StrikerFox
Skimming through the patch notes on Reddit: Melee Armor Sets: MOST ARMOR SET CHANGES CURRENTLY ONLY APPLY TO BRUTES OR THEIR RESPECTIVE EXCLUSIVE CLASS Regeneration: Fast Healing had its regeneration rate increased to 200% up from 75%. Reconstruction changed into a toggled HoT. Each tick heals roughly ?% health (?? at level 50) every 2 seconds. Dull Pain is now a toggle, while this power is on, the player's regeneration rate will grow as his health lowers. Resilience recieved an inversely scaling damage resist that (for now) begins at 100% health and increases as health drops. ---Experimental power. Requires much testing. Instant Healing changed from a regeneration buff to a heal (~500 HP at level 50) with no cooldown. This power now costs a hefty 30 base endurance, but can be cast as many times as you wish. Moment of Glory had its defense steroid removed and its resistances cut by ~25%, but it now temporarily sets player regeneration rate to 2000% and gives a small HoT. Duration increased to 20 seconds. Gobbledygook
Thx Striker, this looks, intriguing. I wish they'd just make IH a toggle again. Does making DP a toggle still boost max HP, I wonder? Also, this says it's coxg, that's not the same as Homecoming, is it?

I wouldn't pay any attention to anything from that server.
StrikerFox
Ah, I didn't notice that. I don't even know what coxg is. That's probably a good thing, a lot of the melee changes doesn't make sense to me.

Follow-up is an attack, but you may not be counting it since it also has build-up functionality. With decent recharge, a claws scrapper can spam follow-up and the two biggest hitters - focus and eviscerate - over and over. I use shockwave situationally and seldom use strike at all. Without_Pause
The good news is you don't really need to change the build to account for changes to Claws and Regen. That's also the bad news. Five years and no changes to Regen. Top 10 Most Fun 50s. 1. Without Mercy: Claws/ea Scrapper. 2. Outsmart: Fort 3. Sneakers: Stj/ea Stalker. 4. Emma Strange: Ill/dark Controller. 5. Project Next: Ice/stone Brute. 6. Waterpark: Water/temp Blaster. 6. Mighty Matt: Rad/bio Brute. 7. Without Hesitation: Claws/sr Scrapper. 8. Within Reach: Axe/stone Brute. 9. Without Pause: Claws/wp Brute. 10. Chasing Fireworks: Fire/time Controller. "Downtime is for mortals. Debt is temporary. Fame is forever."
Maelwys
There have been a few changes that *impact* upon the best way to build such a character though. (Can take that Gaussian out of FA and stick Power Transfer Procs in Stamina, QR and PP ASAP. Drop Maneuvers and Superjump and grab Infiltration, etc etc.)((Also Dull Pain isn't Perma despite having 5x LoTGs and 5x 10% Rech set bonuses plus change. Integration and Reconstruction aren't ED-Capped. The Claws attacks are overslotted for Recharge% and underslotted with Damage procs, and the 50% Crit Rate Proc is in the wrong power. There's also no sign of any panic buttons other than MoG and IH. RoP? Shadowmeld? Even Barrier destiny? Nope on all counts. Although I can at least understand some of the power choices if it's going for a Wolverine theme over functionality...))
