NOTE: This change is for iTrials only, since virtually every league that is formed is either completely full, or fairly close. I've never seen a partial league queued with the intent of picking up additional players who might have queued solo. Just a few changes to make things easier: 1. Remove logic from the queueing system that allows solo players to join an in-progress or a currently queing league that has a spot open. This essentially makes all iTrials private queued. 2. Add logic to preserve the league leader. 3. Add logic to preserve the pre-defined team structure. 4. Make new invites to the league auto-added to teams 1,2, and 3 only. 5. Show the incarnate shift for all players in the league list. Effect of these changes: 1. Makes things easier for the iTrial leader as far as the formation of specialized teams. ( such as group 1 for the north path in BAF ) 2. Makes things a heck of a lot easier after zoning in, as far as re-adding disconnected players, since the leader doesn't have to deal with regaining the star and with recreating 3 groups.

I think most trollers can best be described as having "moderate damage", especially this combination. You will never be able to solo content as efficiently as say a scrapper or brute. Having said that, it does get better at higher levels. Also, trollers tend to shine more on teams than solo.

I started a thread on this some time ago in the suggestions area. Hopefully, this will be implemented at some point. I don't mind having to go inside the building as much as having to truck across the entire zone to get to him, when all I want to do is frigging radios. As I suggested in the thread, I'd also like the option to completely turn off the bank mission, so I don't even have to deal with the detective.

I thought you needed a triple patch to stop Marauder in his tracks, but it's been years - I could be remembering it incorrectly. It may not even be possible to achieve that.
-
I remember back on live, people using Dark/Dark on Lambda iTrial to effectively ground Marauder, so you don't have to keep chasing him around. Just curious how much recharge is needed though to apply multiple instances of Tar Patch to achieve this, and if other archtypes with access to Dark powers can achieve the same thing?

Not sure I understand the resistance to this idea, considering this is standard in any modern MMO. I'd love to be able to store recipes and enhancements for any future characters I'd like to make. It could also be a great influence sink if you had to buy additional slots to store more items, perhaps having the cost ramp up as you buy more slots.

I wonder if an easier solution would be to add some more primary power sets to the tanker AT that are more support oriented? Maybe they could be a mix of defensive powers like the tanker already has plus some auras that help the team.

I've never really understood why this game wants a delineation between friends and global friends - I've never seen it in any other game. Typically, in every MMO I've played, your friends list is global, you will see the person listed with their global handle and with the name of the character they're currently playing. In CoH, they're separate and distinct, and you have to keep flip flopping between them, based on how you're friended to them. My suggestions would be: 1. Combine the two, any friend you have is global 2. Show their global handle, their current character, and if possible the character name they were playing when you first friended. 3. I could be wrong, but friending appears to be unilateral in some cases. Never fully understood that. It should always be reciprocal and require confirmation from the other party.

I would definitely love to have this implemented, though I wish they could implement something new vs rehashing existing powers. For example, in most rpgs, I associate auras around a Paladin which are visible on the ground.
-
They could easily do this for BAF, since it already skips the cut scene if everyone in the league has already done it.

A few screen shots from tonight's "mostly" plant team. We picked up a corrupter by zone chat early on, and he stuck with us for the duration. I'm sure he was a bit surprised when he first joined, but he promised to keep us all well watered. :) We ran quite a few 50+4 radios in PI, and we rocked.

standard Farming has existed as long as MMOs have existed. So yes, normal. Never understood why the devs spent so much time trying to quash it, especially given the rampant inflation on live.
-
Yep, that was it, I think. Unfortunately, it appears to be tripped by normal AE farming. Be nice if they could strip that code out.

Sorry, but a brand new player with no alt to provide funding is absolutely NOT going to have the funds to buy or craft IO enhancements. And the lower level IO enhances are in short supply, believe me I've looked. DOs and SOs are not a waste of time, and I wish people would stop spreading this misinformation. They work just fine for what you face leveling up. I personally rarely mess with IOs until I get into the 30s or 40s, even though I do have the funding if I wanted to.

Years ago, back on live, they implemented some kind of system that would throttle drops if you spent a lot of time farming content, such as AE or certain maps. Gave it some weird name, which I cant remember, not that it really matters... My question is, exactly what triggers it? Is it time spent on particular maps, the number of drops you get over a certain period of time, or something else? I think this system is still in place, since I've noticed that drops seem to be a lot better on characters that I've let sit inactive for a while. Meanwhile, on my farmer toons, the good drops gradually fade to nothing over time, which is frustrating. I currently have two AE farmers, an SS/Fire and a Rad/Fire. Just curious exactly how many characters would be needed to get around this system, and how often I would need to switch farming toons? I honestly don't know why this system would still be kept active, since there is currently a big backlog of demand for purples on the auction house, some items with well over 200 bids vs just a handful of items available.

We already have an example of this in the game with the transparent fish globe and the glass brain helmet. I'd like to see something similar to the following ( Human Bomb helmet, Juggernaut, and Raynor from StarCraft ): This helmet is similar to the existing glass helmet. Man, I'd love to have Raynor's armor as well....

I'm curious, where's the best place to host images for posts like this? I used to use photobucket years ago, but they appear to be behind a pay wall now.
-
Just curious why fire melee would be considered best on a tank, when Rad or Spines is currently considered best on a Brute farmer?

I had a load of fun with the ITF team last night, 4 plant trollers, 2 sentinels, and 2 scrappers made for an interesting combination. Thanks to everyone.

Seems like the best solution would be to just not allow it to double stack. Either have it auto-cancel the current invocation of rage, or just set it to not add any more damage beyond what you can get from one invocation. Problem solved, no rage crash needed.

Neverglade. I logged in at 9 PM, not a soul in the supergroup was showing as logged on. I'll try again next Tuesday.

I logged on Tuesday night, and no one was there. Has this been moved to another day of the week or time?

A better way to view another player's build
krj12 replied to Night at the Opera's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I remember years ago, playing Guild Wars 1, you were expected to play very specific cookie cutter builds for your class. I remember being kicked from a number of teams specifically because I didn't always go with the norm, which I very much hated. I don't want any changes to the current system that will allow that kind of behavior. How I choose to do my build is my business. I don't really approve the current functionality that shows the set bonuses, to be honest. So I vote no. -
I'll respond to the question "what did you expect them to be". I expect them to be something complimentary to a ranged dps play style, preferably a set of self buff powers along with a build up.

AH default slider position when dropping in a stack

I agree.
