Now I want pistols that buff the target's Resistance.

But for "is there any worse pain than this?", I respectfully submit: the mental torment of bad management.

Sometimes you get teams of people who honestly aren't aware that anything needs to be protected (because they have never once read the mission text), don't suit up with protective bubbles, and just go "rarrrrr!! get 'em!" and if no one happens to be in the right area for long enough, because it's just a pickup team with no real coordination, yea, it can happen. High DPS and high defenses doesn't stop a fail if no one's actually protecting the reactor and people stand around only taking care of mobs they can easily see without sweeping the plac.e

I love love love the melee attacks on Martial Kombat. I'm not against the creation of a powerset based around thrown weapons.... more options is good! But I love my half-melee half-ranged run-and-gun blaster. also, I do believe at least one Throw Weapons set has been proposed under:

Coup de grace vs held/knocked down underlings, minions, and LTs
MTeague replied to biostem's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Points for thinking outside the box, but I can't get behind this. And hell, my main is a Mind/Kin, who might very well benefit from something like this. If it were implemented, I absolutely think every enemy should get the same power to use against a Held player. -
I mean, the Snow Beasts are totally talkin' smack about your characters. Honor* demands they get beat down before movin' on. (*or something)

I admit, I do wonder what's the point of having several hundred characters. Like, when you would go over a year playing each character once a day, how do you remember anything about them? But CoH has always been a massively alt-friendly game. And really, if they only allowed you 12 characters per shard per account, you would have rapidly found people making *many* accounts, because it's not like it costs money or anything. (And it literally can't cost money, or legal hammer would be brought down). I think they just decided fine, if people are gonna do it anyway, why not let them do it all on one account. In any case, the ship has so so sailed.

Additional rewards for higher difficulties
MTeague replied to Jiro Ito's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Well, historically, when Live, CoH never gave you anything more for challenge settings in Ouroborus, or "Master of" runs. Doing it was considered it's own reward, and the whole idea was to keep it as optional as possible. So I'm loosely opposed to the idea on that principle. That said, it's not exactly difficult to pile up influence or merits, either. So I don't think boosting it would really change the big picture all that much. -

Auto Logout when AFK for more than 20 minutes in a mission.
MTeague replied to Wavicle's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I guess if TF lead was AFK during a TF, then rest of the team can neither advance nor boot him. I would hope this doesn't come up much, though. -
a) you're never forced to care about accolades. 90% of my characters have ZERO accolades. Really. It's Okay. They'll live. b) you can always team up with a teleporter who has Recall Friend. It's also okay to not do everything 100% solo.' EDIT: okay that came off far ruder than intended. My apologies. But there are non-dev solutions to this.

Endurance reduction pass on toggles
MTeague replied to Outrider_01's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
The bottom line is the game design doesn't plan on you being Fully Super right out of the gate. You start wtih powers/skills, but the game is designed so you have to stop and REST every so often. Eventually, with enough slots, and with enough resources gathered to fill those slots, you become Fully Super. And yes, if you're doing a character who's live-off-the-land, and everyone else is using characters they've sugar-daddied with 10 million or more influence and are chugging the P2W amplifiers like they're candy, you will be comparitively left behind, or feeling like a 7th wheel. Honestly, if it were up to me, nothing on the P2W vendors would exist at all, anywhere. In any form. But it's not up to me, and that's fine too. (Honestly, I should probably never run any kind of customer-facing business, EVER.) -
Check me on this, but I believe you CAN see your character just fine once you're in combat. Just not running between battles. I still wouldn't mind a "Don't obscure my costume" option, though.

Replace Beast Mastery with Wolf Pack power set
MTeague replied to Lich's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
The same way you can customize a broadsword to have many different looks, the ideal solution is for "Beast Mastery" to have a variety of different looking + sounding beasts. Necromancy: choice of vanilla, Vahzilok, or Circle of Thorns spectrals. Thugs: choice of vanilla, Mooks/Family, or Syndicate Ninjas: choice of vanilla, Tsoo, or Knives of Artemis Robots: choice of vanilla, ??Council Bots??, or Praetorian Clockwork. Mercs: choice of vanilla, Malta, ??? Beasts: choice of vanilla, ??CertainVanityPets??, or Snakes. Demons: choice of vanilla, CoT Hordling/Behemoth/Overlord, or Talons of Vengeance In all cases, this would be cosmetic only. No changes to pet powers, pet cooldowns, etc, regardless of selected appearance. Probably never going to happen?? But that's the direction I'd try to go. -
As a source of Damage, Air Sup has never been noteworthy. But it's an extremely reliable single-target Knockdown, and can be useful to delay a foe from acting while another power of yours recharges.

I mean there's gotta be a few steps of mostly middle ground in between there. But there would probably never be any consensus on what's the right place to stop. I will say I rarely taken the Presence Pool for specifically this reason though. The Self-Rez in the T5 is nice, and it has some decent boosts in it as well.... but man the first few powers are Stinky Poo, at least, for all my character concepts. I have sucked it up and dealt with the wasted power picks for exactly one character so far. Dunno. There are some specific powers I do think are probably so bad they deserve a rework... but it's not exactly a critical issue. There's a LONG list of things I'd rather were taken care of first.

This. Cross Punch does quite well soloing on my Mind/Kin controller (especially with lots of Fulcrum Shift stacks), and my Beast/Empath MM will run right into melee with her kittehs and doggos. It is always the best choice, probably not, do I sometimes get into trouble soloing either one, sure. But it's FUN, and it works a lot of the time. I wish Kick could look like the Martial Kombat version Storm Kick, though.

well.... yes. In fact, I am. 😀

If you were to add a zone to Paragon City...
MTeague replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
I would want an underwater aquatic zone. Maybe going deeper into Coralax lore. However, this will probably never happen, because In CoH, it doesnt' matter if it's deep ocean or a public fountain, you can never swim down and max depth is like 2 feet. In most games, underwater zones are near-universally hated. implementing a breathing requirement couldn't really happen becasue various characters are super enough they don't NEED to breathe, or can hold their breath for 3 hours, or they're just plain robotic and breathing is for carbon-based critters. but if i could magic-wand something into the game, this would probably be it. -
Increase Full Auto Target Cap to 16
MTeague replied to PoptartsNinja's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I would not be opposed to this. Originally, Full Auto could hit fewer targets, but was a crashless nuke. All the way back to the beginning, crashless. Now everyone's T9 is crashless, and Full Auto.... is just sorta, there. I don't consider it a critical-must-have item. I know lots of people hate on AR becasue it's not top-tier, but it still gets the job done plenty well, unless it truly deep-down matters to you if you finish a fight in 30 seconds vs 38 seconds. I know i've never cared, but for some people it's all about performance vs towers, and any other metric that they can spreadsheet. -
Magic Staff Ranged Powerset Pitch
MTeague replied to StarWarrior01's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It would probably require new animations, as opposed to just shoving a wand/staff/thing into the existing animation. At least if it were to look up-to-snuff with the rest of what Homecoming has produced for new sets. -
There is a perfectly good Test server where you can insta 50 anyone to experiment with any power combos / animations, etc to your hearts content. That said, I would not be opposed to a swap-in-swap-out mini-respec. I'd even be fine with any such mini-swaps still costing me a full respec each and every time, but just making it simpler to do without having to rearrange all my power trays, and I'd consider it a BARGAIN at the price. I do not consider it a pressing need. But it would be very positively received, if the devs decide it's worth the projected coding effort.

I'm feeling cynical and jaded today, but I would see this rapidly devolving into a powergame min/max "can I squeeze more +DEF out of this?" where very few players would actually care what fits in with their characters backstory, just another vehicle to try to defense cap sooner, because most characters I inspect don't even HAVE a backstory. That said, maybe I'll feel better after a Snickers.
