Ah. Okay, I ready right past that part. Sorry for the corn-fusion...

There's technically one more source of lag, and it's under the end-user's control. Disk subsystem induced latency. You can get screwy variances on game performance depending on the drive you've got it installed to. System/Swap drive vs secondary drive IDE/SATA/SAS/M.2/PCIE/etc Rotational speed and buffer capacity If you're running RAID, array type can make a difference HDD vs SSD

No Enhancements, no Inspies, T1 Incarnates Only Incarnate Trials! It nets you a "WTF?" (like MO) of [NORMAL BADGE NAME]

Odd, then, that you toss Slows in there. As they're a debuff.

Basically Defense comes in two varieties. 1: Typed (Smashing, Lethal, Energy, Negative, Fire, Cold, Psi) 2: Vectored (Melee, Ranged, AoE) Most incoming attacks have flags for both Typed AND Vectored damage. Very VERY few are "Pure X". And the way Defense works, the game uses the highest applicable value. So if you have Smashing/Ranged damage. Your S/L Defense is 0% and your Ranged Defense is 25%, it'll use your Ranged Defense. If you get Energy/PBAoE damage. Your Energy Defense is 30% and your PBAoE is 22%, it'll use your Energy Defense And yes, if it throws a damage combo that you have NO Typed OR Vectored Defense to? You're hating life and hoping you have some Resistance.

Basically, Afterburner can function as an "Oh Crap" button in the event you get badly Defense Debuffed. In a team setting you should be fine. You should have someone dragging aggro off you. And team buffs should boost your Defenses and Resists.

When I go to arrange slots I get this: Afterwards it shows the problem. You have Burn taken at L49 and you have 5 slots in it. L49: Last power (1 slot) L50: 3 slots OOPS! This is why I did a manual rebuild, taking the powers in an orderly, level-up order. Just to be safe.
-
Note: This build is coming up "Illegal" in 2.7.2.10 Here's a slight rework of your build with powers and slots all in proper order. It's pretty impressive, even if the damage hound in me is going "YOU SLOTTED SLOWS! YOU FILTHY HEATHEN!"

So do I. NVSurround screen fusion isn't perfect. But it beats the snot out of 11,520 pixels of totally unusable horizontal space. Still, if I had to do it over again, I'd step down one model in resolution. True 4K on 27" monitors renders text damn near unreadable. And I don't like some of the side-effects of screen magnification. My lock screen's pretty cool though....

There's nothing particularly "special" about my rig. It started life as a home-brew server back in 2011 (yes, 2011). It was converted to my primary rig in 2014. CPU: i7 970 (Hex core, Hyperthreading) Liquid Cooled (Kraken X61) Memory: 24GB of RAM Primary Drive: 500GB Samsung Evo (SATA) SSD Used to also sport a 15 Krpm SAS drive, but it started choking and dying last year. Video: Multiple over the years. Current: RTX 2060 Case: Thermaltake Core X9 Monitor(s): Multiple over the years. Current: Dell 2718U (x3) Additional Onboard hard drives: 2x WD Black (1TB) 1 HGST Deskstar NAS (6TB) External Storage: WD MyBook (2TB) MyCloudUltra EX2 (12GB in 6GB RAID1 config)

Yank the Kismet. Unless you SEVERELY underslotted +Acc and +ToHit, you won't miss it.

Thew about $300 at them back in the day. Didn't really expect anything. But they wanted the opportunity, they were fellow CoH players and I had spare cash.

Gonna disagree here. On most teams and leagues, a natural 45 is very likely to spend the majority of a TF or what-have-you above 50% More-over, they'll have teammates to draw fire. Another stab at it.

And, in service of Fire/Fire.

C'mon! In the face! HARDER! No! HARDER!

I like Mudpots as a power. I REALLY don't like the SFX for Mudpots though. I have a general misophonia to loud, breathy chewing sounds. And the *SCHLORP* sound of Mudpots is close enough that it sets me off too...

BLAME CANADA! BLAME CANADA!

This is why I like recruiting everyone in the raid myself. If the league bug rears its ugly head, well, I'm shuffling most off to other teams anyhow... And I just do zone raids. This way I'm not dinking with timers or anything like that while reshuffling people mid-raid.

Correct. Found out after trying to hybrid Def/Res a Rad tank that, while it CAN work, has some serious deficiencies. Going whole-hog for Resists generally yields a better overall experience. And you CAN still build up a modicum of Defense. Just understand that, with no DDR, the entire amount is essentially sacrificial. However, a balls-to-the-wall Resist tank is basically: ResistDude: Oh noez! I've had my Defense debuffed into negative triple digits! What EVER shall I do? MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I'm sorry, but 50-60% Resist is still inferior to 45% Defense. Demonstrably and mathematically. -

NOTHING is "unkillable". Sorry if that comes across as "ball busting". Perhaps, against carefully picked or engineered enemies, your chances of dying approach "none". But the build exposes various soft spots as the number of enemies drops. -

Okay, I can respect that. Considering how high Defenses are, you could drop one of the Pool blasts, still be above soft-cap at 0-enemies, and have some left-over slots with which to buff Psi Resist. Quick rework -

Okay, you've posted some decent numbers for Def/Res. But you've skimped on attacks. Lowering your kill speed. Making your survival numbers even more important. So, in the end, I'm not sure the numbers you're putting up are actually more effective. I'm also going to reiterate my basic opinion that tossing Maneuvers onto an Invuln Tank indicates you've failed to properly consider your build. CAN you do it? Sure. There's no One True Way. But, in my opinion (and I can be wrong, but it's MY opinion), it's a goof. Here's a somewhat indifferent stab at the same thing, which I did last year. Defense: 52/50/54 SL/EN/FC with zero enemies in range. Resists: 90/59/76/55/24 SL/EN/FC/Tox/Psi And yes, I have Hover/Fly in there. And yes, I'm mule-ing them. And they're essentially inactive on the build They're mainly in there because there wasn't really anything else terribly useful. Maybe go for Teleport instead, so I can Recall Friend?
