  1. Well, that person asked what the smallest computer is that will run CoH, not one with dedicated graphics. Heck, I was able to, (albeit with everything turned way down), to get CoH to run on a GPD Win1, and it'd run even better on a GPD Win 2, and those have a 5.5" and 6" screen...
  2. Quick question: I'm not able to check on my computer ATM - is the only animation option for jump kick from the leaping pool that hand-spring-like one? I'm toying with a build that could use acrobatics, and while I'm not against taking SJ, I was debating taking CJ + jump kick instead, so I'd have another filler attack. Thanks in advance!
  3. Perhaps Hamidon's link with/connection to the individual DE creatures is so strong that no outside influence can usurp his control beyond the few seconds that a direct control power applied externally can, even if said influence is directly inhabiting said DE creature's body, or maybe Kheldians need a non-plant/non-crystalline body, (though that would still permit the lesser devoured)...
  4. What you'd likely run into, then, would be several "dummy floors" that only consisted of the elevator vestibule which was blocked off with some rubble/debris/locked gate/etc. Personally, I'd love to see maps be 1 continuous map/zone, be they vertical or horizontal in nature, where you could take the stairs or elevator, or simply fly up to where you need to go...
  5. I have an older HP Elitebook 2170p that I bought used and refurbished. It has a dual-core i5 and I upgraded it to 8GB of RAM, and it runs CoH decently, (I use the -usetexenvcombine switch to make it run even smoother, but remove the command when creating a costume so I can get the best image possible). It's an 11.6" laptop with integrated graphics. I needed the portability more than the sheer processing power, and I am pretty forgiving regarding what framerate I'm playing at, so take that with a grain of salt...
  6. Nova and Dwarf forms offer a lot for taking just 1 power. The inability to activate other powers is a tradeoff that you must weigh when taking/using said power. You can work within those confines and still manage a high degree of functionality, however...
  7. It's the like old adage; A dead enemy can't kill you. It's great and all to be able to keep an enemy locked down, but it's even better to take their piece off the gameboard and move onto the next group. I chalk a lot of this movement up to how binary the hold system is; Perhaps if mez effects worked on a sliding scale from doing nothing to being completely locked down, then such powers would be more useful...
  8. That's exactly what he'd want you to think!!!
  9. Ooh I got another: water blast/bio armor sentinel-type.
  10. Why can't you issue your goto defensive command, then send an attack defensive command once they're where you want them?
  11. Darkness/thorny assault dominator Stone melee/bio armor brute Earth control/nature affinity controller
  12. We're all very experienced players at this point. The notes about role, etc during character creation are for newer or unfamiliar players, and while not perfect, they serve that purpose well enough. I certainly don't have an issue with players making their characters however they like - but if they deviate a bit from their chosen ATs typical functionality, then you'll need to adjust/compensate and work with what you have...
  13. To me, it's about having options. Do some travel powers/pools need love/tweaking? Absolutely! It shouldn't just be about raw performance, however...
  14. I only see corruption, lash, and crack whip. What else uses that animation? Regardless, you could chain together 2 of the animations in rapid succession for an attack. Dark melee, for instance, could be said to only have 3 attacks, with touch of fear and midnight grasp using the "reach out open hand" animation, and having a different effect applied. It then has the taunt and 2 generic PBAoE animations for dark consumption and soul drain...
  15. These 2 statements seem contradictory. Regardless, what it boils down to is that we don't know. Thus, it isn't really productive to hypothesize the other party's true motives...
  16. But if the person wasn't familiar with the ability to freely rename their character and/or thought you were asking them to delete their character, maybe they didn't want to entertain the possibility at all. No need to attribute malice to the other party...
  17. I have to say - the costume creator definitely lends itself more toward tech-type outfits than perhaps any other category, so I'm with you on this...
  18. Why would you come to this conclusion? Is it not just as likely that they don't respond to PMs from random individuals?
  19. TY Obus Form. I'm only about level 40 ATM, so am only using generic IOs. I play far too casually and suffer from too much alt-itis to probably get fully kitted out with IO sets, but I do appreciate the advice. Thanks!
  20. Call it "mixed melee" or somesuch. Instead of a full combo system like dual blades, I'd go with a much simpler "resource" system like street justice's "combo" system. Have it where some attacks finish with the blunt weapon, and others with the edged one. Here's the trick - *every* power is a "finisher", except you need at least 3 of the built-up resource to trigger the effect. The blunt weapon could trigger a stun/disorient or knock effect, while the edged ones apply a DoT or -RES.
  21. Well, stealth from the concealment pool is great for any character that's supposed to be a spy or ghostly, yet doesn't already have access to such a power. Also, check out the costume change emotes, as many of them are really good - such as summoning a murder of crows, raising up your hand to call lightning, or maybe even chugging a potion. You should be able to trigger the command by switching into an identical costume in a different costume slot, if you didn't want to actually change your appearance. Force of Will has mighty leap, which grants you a footstomp-like power, which can be pretty dramatic, and requires no enemies. Presence has Invoke Panic, which is a PBAoE, (so doesn't require any enemies to use) - though having to take 1 other power to gain access to it is iffy, IMO. Otherwise, check out the other emotes available...
  22. I wish they'd allow full weapon customization for these, or at least the fire & ice models...
  23. Not saying it's ideal, but this might be one of those rare cases where pacify might be worth taking...
  24. Maybe also a /target_rank_nearest boss command.
  25. Agreed. I was also thinking in terms of placing toggle debuffs on the stronger enemies in any given group, (and how targeting can be frustrating on a full team).
