  1. What I'm suggesting is to be able to use minion/lieutenant/boss/EB/AV/GM as targeting options in binds. If a command already exists, please disregard this suggestion. Your thoughts? Thanks for reading!
  2. I used a bind, something like "targetcustomnext quantum" or something similar, to make sure to pick out any quantum enemies. I'd then be sure to hit them with whatever mez power I had available, (or even just your hardest attacks ASAP). Keeping a luck or similar inspiration handy isn't a bad idea, either.
  3. I doubt they would want to allow or implement any sort of tool that interacts with the game/server without actually using the client. That being said, (and I can understand being sentimental about a name), either try different servers or use modifiers in spelling or other names/words before or after your original/desired name...
  4. I tend to use the "person with unstable powers trapped in a suit to control/focus them" angle a lot. I'll often employ the "person from another planet/dimension whose powers are 'natural' to them" approach a good bit.
  5. The issue with red-side, IMO, isn't so much the "henchman" part - it's not being able to initiate your own schemes. I mean, a skilled creator could probably actualize their villain's own plots via the AE, but beyond that, it's not really about what *you* want to do. There's no option to simply become a business mogul via nefarious means or to work on your own doomsday weapon...
  6. How do you view stone melee? It has the stone hammers, but you kind of create them "on the fly". They definitely have a nice, weighty feeling to them.
  7. Well, I quite like energy aura on my brute. The armor sets were tweaked for Sentinels, so I'm not sure how much different it is than the "base version". Energy blast, OTOH, is another story. Solo, and/or with careful placement of your shots, energy blast is ok, but I feel that the kb effects aren't the best secondary effects available...
  8. Maybe an ice/ice sentinel. I'm not a fan of ice armor, but sentinels being able to stay somewhat at range could alleviate some of ice armor's shortcomings...
  9. Well, there are ways to make differing sets fit within a character's theme. If you're simply talking about having a primary and secondary of the same element, then maybe give these a try: Demons/thermal MM or fire/thermal controller. Dark/dark dominator. Rad/rad brute. Archery/TA blaster.
  10. Sorry I missed those. Now, since there is not pet customization for MMs as it stands, there really couldn't be a "view as generic" option, now could there? Include it as an option upon the release of pet customization? Sure, why not...
  11. So your problem lies with the GMs/mods/devs not enforcing the code of conduct/ToS as you see fit? Fine. Even if I grant that said code of conduct should be followed *to-the-letter*, then it invalidates a large portion of the costume pieces. One person could conclude that making a character in a swimsuit or bikini is overly sexualized. One person could make a character that is, to them, an honest and forthright presentation of some niche community, then another person takes offense. Should the person who made the character be sanctioned, or should the person who took offense learn more about that character/player, or simply not interact with them? At what point does "being made comfortable" start to infringe on other people's ability to express themselves/their creativity? You say "Hence the call for commands that give players authority to remove content they don't want to see on a personal basis." - do you mean being able to generic another person's costume? For everyone or just yourself? At what point does your right to not be offended exceed someone else's right to express themselves? These are all muddy issues, but none of them should mean that we limit everyone's options...
  12. I wonder if you could combine some gravity & time powers to create a time & space assault set. I also wonder if you could create a gravity blast set using existing animations & assets...
  13. If something isn't against the ToS, then it isn't against the rules, and no steps need be taken. If you are proposing that the rules be changed or expanded, then make your case, (but a new thread may be better for that). You keep saying that people are ignoring the problem, but you haven't actually presented a problem - only vague mentions of "problematic behavior". Clearly define what you mean and present an objective way in which we can evaluate what should or should not be depicted, (as well as including clear reasoning behind each restriction)...
  14. "Problematic" by what metric? If they are violating the ToS, then please report them and let the GMs/moderators/devs handle it. If they're not in violation, then you are free to not associate with that person, but at the same time, please don't roll them in with actual rules violators...
  15. So I have a DM/EA brute that I rather like, but I have a problem surviving alpha strikes while teaming. I took & slotted up tough and weave, but my survivability just seems lacking. Dampening field and energy protection are 3-slotted with RES IOs. I use energy drain to further bolster my defense, and reply upon energize and siphon life to keep my HP topped off. In a protracted battle, I can do just fine. It's that initial strike where all enemies attack at once, that does me in. I'm only using generic IOs ATM. I use energy cloak and a stealth IO to allow me to get very close. Any suggestions or other advice? Thanks for reading!

IMO, it's not so much that they need to buff the fly speed of pets - it's that they need a way to tether them to you a lot better; MM pets should, when commanded, essentially be 1 step behind you. I'd love to be able to place them in formation or somesuch, and have them stick to it, (immediate surroundings permitting, of course).

Well, I can't speak for all cases, bu here are a few that come to mind: Dark melee - If you want to play up the "draining" or vampiric nature of darkness, then avoid stalkers; They don't get dark consumption or soul drain, which IMO are 2 of that set's coolest/defining powers. If you want to be an archer with exotic warheads, then I'd suggest an archery/tactical arrow blaster over a trick arrow defender or corruptor; Tactical arrow is just better. A sentinel could work, but if you're aiming for a more "natural" or tech-based character, your options are limited, (perhaps /ninjitsu).
  18. A mercs/TA MM would have access to a machine gun and a bow - both of which Rambo uses. They may not be the specific attacks that Rambo would use, but it's there. Realistically, now, when have you realistically seen a "debuffing bow" used by any mainline motion picture? You gotta use a bit of imagination to extend what he game can provide... As previously mentioned, a mercs/TA MM would have access to both a machine gun and a bow, which Rambo is known to use.

  20. Simply put, I would love to be able to preview a power while we're selecting one during level up, but before we commit to it. I know that we can preview all powers for our primary or secondary during character selection, but for things like pool or APP/PPP powers, that isn't available then. Further, it'd be awesome if we could choose the animation or tint, (if available for said power). Your thoughts? Thanks for reading!
  21. Well, if you use melee powers, and the MM's pets are blocking the way, then you cannot use your powers. If the MM pets are blocking LoS, then you pretty much can't use any power that requires you target said enemies, either.
  22. The way set secondary effects work has always bugged me; Darkness attacks *always* debuff the target's tohit. Why not give elec a 100% chance to return some end - even if it is a smaller %. I don't understand why we have to play with the RNG for some sets to get their secondary effects...
  23. Can you please clarify - Do you think henchpet customization WILL cause a significant increase in "problematic content" or not? If not, then why stress over it. If yes, then it'd fall under the same criteria of inappropriate costumes/names/behavior as regular player character costumes/names/behavior, which is already in the rules. So then, again, there's no need to take special steps to limit the creativity of legitimate players by not implementing the feature. As far as I can tell, City of Heroes was given a T-Teen rating, meaning that "they can contain content such as moderate amounts of violence (including small amounts of blood), mild to moderate use of language or suggestive themes, sexual content, and crude humor". Therefore, if you are unable or unwilling to experience that kind of content, then you should not be playing CoH full stop. I'm not saying that one should have to contend with content beyond those descriptors, but anything within those limits is fair game. I absolutely understand that people may have experiences that cause exposure to such content to be uncomfortable or downright intolerable, and as such, either limit your play or make sure to confine your play to areas that minimize such exposure. Asking others to tailor their play or creativity to suit you is unwarranted, (again as long as those people stick within the aforementioned guidelines and aren't going out of their way to specifically target and/or harass you).
  24. Yes, and with not too much work, you can set it to use a different body type, summon the illusions, then switch back to whatever other costume/body type you want...
  25. And people can make racist, sexist, etc comments in zone or any of the other chat channels, yet we don't have a major issue with that now. That is much easier to do, and yet we aren't facing some epidemic. If we don't have to worry about someone making a female character abusing her male pets, (or a homosexual male doing the same thing), then any other such hypothesis about being able to make female pets is mere conjecture with no evidentiary backing...
