issue 27 Focused Feedback: Sister Valeria Story Arc
BurtHutt replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I haven't taken a run at this but it's good to have repeatable content. I think it is tough to add materials and this is why I will always continue to push for my AE project to add regular content. I have always wondered why ancient warriors are some of the toughest enemies in the game. It seems a bit off to me lol Anyway, thanks Devs for all your hard work. -
I appreciate the info. I will try for the 'troller combo as I have a themed toon ready to go. I hope MIDS gets a quick update! :)
-
Has anyone tried this with the new Sonic secondary? Seems like a good theme combo. Would Symph/Sonic be better on a Controller? I am definitely wanting to try this power and want to pair it with a Sonic secondary. I just wonder if the combo would be viable and if it would play better for a Dom or Controller.

Devs, thanks for hearing us. I would also encourage you to not give away 1000 character slots on new accounts - please make this change. It's absolutely ridiculous and allows for tons of issues. Maybe start with 50 and leave an option to claim additional slots (maybe allowed to get more every few months - so, 10 more after every 3 months? Something along those lines).

issue 27 Focused Feedback: Stance & Walk Customization

I haven't been on BETA but is there any change being made to the animations for the HUGE model movement when weapons are drawn (shield out etc)? It looks like someone moving with a stick up their butt. I have always disliked this animation. Maybe I'm alone on this? -

You are 100% correct when you say this isn't a democracy. However, anyone who feels listening to the players isn't important is delusional. I appreciate the Devs and understand this is a volunteer situation. However, I do donate $5 almost every month (except when the window closes before I get there) but I am not getting much play or enjoyment from the game anymore. I will continue to donate the 5 as it isn't huge and every little bit helps. Where am I going with this? If players get tired of the game direction and content addition then the donations may not make the minimum required amount for the Dev team. This is could be a big deal. This is when people need to realize that listening to your 'customers' is important when you're reliant on them. So, no, it isn't a democracy but it is pretty close (in a way). -

Any chance you could link those player requests here? -

This. I hope people just take it to King's Row or lesser utilized zones but the Devs went and put a Pocket D truck in AP which never made any sense to me. Ah well. I really don't understand what the dev team is thinking in regards to content and direction of this game. -

I, generally, also wonder this. I don't want to parse through that entire forum but I am curious as to how Devs decide these things. I honestly don't remember any of the items in this page being high on any list in those forums - but I could be very wrong. So, please do let me know. Finally, if none of these new page items were taken from that thread then why not just shut down that thread? -
Unfortunately, this seems like a problem that should never have been. I place great importance on my toon name, build, look etc. It all has to work for me or it doesn't get created. So, I am one of the players that is annoyed by this change. I have a lot of alts that I play sporadically and let them gather dust for long periods at a time. Now, If I don't log these toons in, I risk losing the name. That is just a silly. HC Devs have done so much good and I am eternally grateful to you all for bringing back the beautiful game. However, this is a problem the HC team could've prevented simply by NOT giving away 1000 slots per server. That's insane. It should've been more like 100 and you get an additional 5 for every 3 months you play the game or are active etc. Or something like that. I don't sit on too many names. I can't be bothered but there are MANY that I've met who will sit on a TON of names. One guy thought the name policy was actually in effect and complained about the 30+ mins he spent on logging in toons that are just holding names. He had hundreds of them. I now also see similar issues with AE where the HC team allowed for all types of rewards that were not given on Live. There was a reason for that. It seems like we're trying to shove the genie back in the bottle....

I'd like to thank the Devs for a lot of hard work...again. I will say...sadly...none of this stuff really excites me. I hope it's different once it goes live but it just seems underwhelming and not much truly new stuff. Lots of nice QoL changes and a bunch of other tweaks ...for the most part. Anyway, I hope I'm wrong. -

This. I rarely farm but I see a ton of people do. This will not go over well with them which is concerning since the playerbase is dwindling. I also have to agree and wonder why this was done. It seems like there are a lot of odd adds on this page. Finally, again, I'd like to thank the Devs for all they do. You do amazing work but I wanted to provide my honest feedback. -
Great thread! One of my faves! I'm wondering if anyone has posted a snake themed costume? I'm trying to make something unique but inspiration is not striking me. The plan is to make the toon a Sent - DP/Reflexes.
-
I've made some 'procmonsters'. It's nice when the powers proc and you hit. The one thing I learned the hard way was if you totally proc out a power, the accuracy will suffer. I know some were going on about nerfing procs etc. I don't know if there's a need, really. It's a bit of a trade off most of the time.

Absolutely. I posted my opinion and I can only speak for me. I have no desire to see this unfold. In my opinion, CoX got a little too deep into story and it got a little convoluted. It's not easy to follow for the casual player. Sure, it's nice to have these deep dives and detail driven arcs. There is a ton if that in the game. That no longer interests me. I am more casual these days. I'm older and have less time to game. I also feel the Live Devs took it way too far by having the Battalion/Coming Storm storyline build over several issues and never get it's conclusion - it needed to get done much quicker. I'm hoping future content isn't as drawn out and boring. I remember a there was a lot of player fatigue over Praetoria and these long, drawn out storylines. No thanks.

I appreciate the kind words and glad another player sees the potential of the AE Plan! I don't know what the original intent of AE was other than what is being done now. Now that the game and Devs have a bit more creative license, we have an opportunity to do something really epic. What other game allows players to create content and then have it added as canon (subject to screening, of course)?! I think this alone would have players jumping back into the game. Now, I do see how this may be controversial. The CoX owners may feel this is too radical or unconventional. I feel it would be fine as long as the Devs and contributing players all understood the material provided would become NC Soft property (if HC obtained legit rights to run the game or the game was re-started etc etc etc). I think this is a given. Again, this would properly require very few Devs. Or they could add a few volunteers that did nothing but vet and decide if AE submissions were suitable to add to game canon. I'd help with this. So much can be done here; themed missions/arcs, holiday stuff and so on. Tons of options. Let's do this already!!!
-
I do not want to see anything Praetoria etc added ever again. I still have fatigue from Live when all we got was piles of Praetoria rubbish over and over, issue after issue. Serenity now! It's too bad the new Dev team doesn't get creative. Add some unique stuff. The game needs a fresh feel. Adding on storylines from 2012 and before is not interesting to me. Add some new looks, stories, characters etc.
-
Interesting stuff. I pray that one day the HC Devs will implement my idea to use the AE as a tool where players can create and add missions to the regular game. These would also be canon. I think this would be a game changer. Your AE arc could be ported into game and would provide some much needed content. There is no way any reasonable person can expect a volunteer Dev team to keep up with demand. I just hope they do start using this AE concept and reduce some of the burden on their shoulders.
-
I think we'll agree to disagree and I don't want to further derail the thread 🙂 As others have noted, my expectations for the new stuff is low. I don't play much these days but hope springs eternal. I will be waiting and hoping with the rest of the supers!

I sure have. Tell me how any other species is as destructive as humans. I don't mean just towards each other but the entire planet as well. All of Earth's species, environment etc. That's what I thought.
