  1. So, this is just an idea and I always like the versatility of changing your toon around on the fly etc. Some note this power would make him a jack-of-all trades and master of none. Well, I kinda think that's the AT. However, he could become more useful in various situations with these options. So, 6 toggles might be a bit much so maybe taking 3 options out of the pool would be ideal. I would call this power VERSATILITY and you can take it in your Sent power options. You can take the power then take 3 toggles out of all of the options available. Since there are 3 toggle powers, you can make these powers a bit more potent. One toggle power could be added UNTYPED damage (like Hami etc) which would make things even more unique and desirable! Opportunity needs to be adjusted. I would also add the inherent power I noted earlier - maybe call it OBSERVATION. It gives the AT an inherent +ToHit/accuracy of 10%, allows you better protection against Blind, Confuse etc.
  2. It was something that just came to me and I literally noted it down as it came to me. Why would you have to lower the damage when the complaint is the low damage output of the AT? That's part of the point to this - it can up the damage of the AT or it can help the team by debuffing an enemy and so on. I appreciate the replies to the idea though. I actually like the toggles that allows you to change up your play a bit (like in bio armour and dual pistols). Yes, you do get some of these options in the powers you take that is why you pick from a pool and you can take the ones you don't have or duplicate them to increase the damage type....it allows you to pick. Also, instead of picking 6 options, you can pick 3....I just like toons that can be versatile and work in a variety of situations.
  3. Cuz with this system you can have a small bit of it all. So, for example, if you pick fire then you can hit a toggle and add some poison damage to that fire blast..or you can add a to-hit debuff...or you can hit them with a slow and so on. Now, these toggles aren't meant to be so powerful that you don't have a need to create any of those other power set combos but rather a buff. Also, you have to pick a finite amount of abilities for to toggle (I proposed 6) so you can't apply every power. The six toggles I may take would be 1) poison damage (2) to-hit debuff (3) cold damage (4) negative damage (5) defence debuff (6) resistance debuff...or something like this. Now your Sent can cause more damage or whatever and will have something unique and some appeal.
  4. Yes, this is what I was getting at. I don't think it's too ambitious or complex as the mechanic is already in game. It's a bit more clicky as you can change settings a lot if you so choose. I feel it would help the Sentinel become a sought after ally in teams and an AT people would want to play as it is a bit different. Anyway, just an idea. I do like the idea of the Sent but they don't really offer anything better than any other AT. Maybe this mechanic allows them to become that toon along with the other ideas.
  5. It's not my clearest presentation and I was brainstorming as I wrote it. If you have the toggles option then your attacks can be changed quickly on the fly. Yes, these are the same as other powers but the Sentinel will now be able to apply all of these and switch to them when needed. Yes, this would be another tray for the toggle options and it would make things busy. I don't mind it but others do. Ya can't please all the people all the time.
  6. Yes, it's been done to death but allow me to gather a few ideas I've posted and put them in one spot. The one thing I do like about the new seismic power is that there is a bit of innovation in it. I feel the same about the Dr. Aeon SF (although it is way too long, way too much text and not that fun) - the Dev team had some new play experiences in there. Well done, Devs! So, here is an innovative suggestion! The AT can enhance attacks in a few different ways. So, the player would have the chance to apply a twist to attacks by hitting a toggle. This would be like the bio armor gimmick. Another option would be giving the player the ability to PICK an option package. So, we can have all damage type options (cold, fire, toxic etc - this could even get more creative by having attacks do the toggle damage type only and disregard the original power type - so Sent can change all fire attacks to toxic damage. If this is too much then have 50% of that attack do the original damage type and the other 50% do the toggled damage type....it could also EXCLUDE the damage done by procs so the proc continues to do it's inherent damage type - to make it even more interesting), another toggle to add a % of damage to all attacks (like in assault), another for negative to hit, or -RES, or -DEF and so on (basically almost all options in-game) and then let the player PICK 6 (Maybe less? Maybe more? Or 6 is just right?) of them. The player can toggle 1 option at a time. You can really make some variety happen that way. This idea is very much like the mechanic in bio armor and dual pistols but bigger! So here's an option for one model: the toggles would look like: Toggle 1: Debuff To-Hit - all attacks have a chance to reduce the targets To-Hit. Toggle 2: Debuff Resistance - again, all attacks have a chance to reduce Resistance. Toggle 3: Slows - yes, all powers slow targets recharge and movement. Toggle 4: END sapper - all powers reduce some END from the target(s) Toggle 5: DAMAGE boost. Toggle 6: Add toxic damage to all attacks. So, the player would pick 1 toggle and can change them as need be. It'll allow the Sent to be a bit more versatile and have a unique quality as well. Of course, keep the OPPORTUNITY mechanic but maybe tweak it a bit. Maybe have it appear on all primary powers for a short time and give it a bit of a buff. I think, since a Sentinel kinda oversees or watches over, a new inherent could be added. Sents have the inherent ability to have better accuracy overall and is an inherent. Say, something like 10%? Also they could have better ability to fend off things like blind and confuse etc. This may not make enough of a difference but I really think it would be fun to run with a toon that has so many options.
  7. Fellas, I appreciate the feedback. I was going for a cheap build but the build posted here has me tempted to invest for the big budget build. Frozen, the Gauss proc will fire at a decent rate use the proc mechanics if you're in a full team of 8. I always team. Also, I like your build but slightly altered it - adding a couple of slots allows one to softcap a couple more defences. Here's the current version I'm messing around with: https://www.midsreborn.com/builds/download.php?uc=1580&c=726&a=1452&f=HEX&dc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hat do you all think about this one?
  8. So, I am not a big fan of blasters but do like this combo idea. I haven't built too many so I wanted some input, if you all don't mind. I play in teams so a little durability and decent damage is the goal. Ideally I'd like to softcap on all D but ...no.... Anyway, any comments/suggestions would be appreciated! https://www.midsreborn.com/builds/download.php?uc=1392&c=666&a=1332&f=HEX&dc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
  9. Another option would be giving the player the ability to PICK an option package. So, we can have all toggle damage type options (this could even get more creative by having attacks do the toggle damage type only and disregard the original power type - so Sent can change all fire attacks to toxic damage. If this is too much then have 50% of that attack do the original damage type and the other 50% do the toggled damage type....it could also EXCLUDE the damage done by procs to make it even more interesting), another toggle to add a % of damage to all attacks, another for negative to hit, or -RES, or -DEF and so on (basically almost all options in-game) and then let the player PICK 6 (Maybe less? Also they could have better ability to fend off things like blind and confuse etc. There are some other ideas on this forum as well and maybe adding something else would make this a very interesting toon to play. This may not make enough of a difference but I really think it would be fun to run with a toon that has so many options.
  10. I enjoy Sents but they are lacking in many ways. I think the AT needs something and many have put out lots of ideas. I'd like to suggest another one. The AT can enhance attacks in a few different ways. So, the player would have the chance to apply a twist to attacks by hitting a toggle. This would be like the bio armor gimmick. Toggle 1: Debuff To-Hit - all attacks have a chance to reduce the targets To-Hit.
  11. Any chance you want to post this build?
  12. A perspective correction? Hmmmmmm is it though. The facts are there is a lot of reading to it and it takes time to read it. Yes, we can opt to stop and read it all. Absolutely. Is this good game design? I don't know....my preference is to make content a bit more streamlined to most of the players (speed, casual or slow paced) can take it all in. Telling those who are on fast paced teams: "Too bad, so sad", isn't the best route IMO. Anyway, great work on the SF but just not for me.
  13. I think you can make a pretty durable Sent. Maybe an off-tank. I have a good FIRE/BIO Sent and my ELEC/ENERGY Sent is softcapped to all Def.
  14. Well, you get this type of reward in an SF Operative Renault. I thought getting the coral pet was fun (Coral Amulet temp power). Again, these types of things - nothing game breaking but a little, new add that isn't too labor intensive.
  15. I also feel keeping it straight forward and streamline is the best policy for games. The ITF is great and they got a lot of things right with it. Even if you don't read all of the text, you have an idea what is going on. It doesn't feel that way for the Aeon SF. Aeon SF is neat but you lose some immersion when running it on a team - you don't have time to read everything and not sure WTF is going on. It's too bad cuz it's obvious a lot of work went into it. Hopefully the design improves for future content.
  16. I wasn't meaning to infer anything like unlocking ATs at 50 and so on. I mean nice little changes that aren't game breaking - like pets, cosmetic pets and so on.
  17. Hard no to the OP. I think the game is already making things way too easy and convenient. Why even move your toon? Have everything clickable so you can get right there...put trainers in the AE...
  18. You're getting a ton of mileage out of your last 2 brain cells, eh 🙂 Good for you, Jack! I find my Sents are quite durable and I get them into the mix all the time. So, my opinion is quite different from gook's. I also play Sents quite often. Gook, how often do you play them and did you kit them out etc?
  19. I think it would be cool to add some more rewards to the game like new pets that you get for completing a TF/SF. Maybe a new toon or character created by Devs or players. That would be fun!
  20. Ok so I am not a big badge guy but it seemed like maybe this would help motivate people to team and do TFs/SFs etc. The Taskmaster badge (or whatever name) - earn this badge for being the leader for 100 task forces. The Strike Command badge (or whatever) - lead 100 SFs. Lead a Trial etc. Some more incentive for people to make teams and run them.
  21. Interesting take. I completely disagree with it but that's just me. If I am investing time in a game (which can be significant for some) then I want to know as much info as possible and then make an informed decision. In general, I want to know as much as I can about the subject if I am spending time on it. No, I am not a min/max type. I understand how to build a toon but I don't always want to make a high end build cuz that means grinding for resources to fund my super build. I just think players should be provided the info and then they can choose how they want to play. I've made super builds and then I've also just gone with the flow and not worried a lot about the build. Also, it's not about min/maxing all the time. Changing up the builds can change the play experience. One AT and powerset can be made very differently - one build can have more recharge, another can have more damage or another version can better on DEF/RES and so on.... Maybe it's because I am not huge into games but this always struck me as very odd.
  22. I get this. Totes. What I was thinking is picking up some random power. Some of the powersets have some very skippable powers. So adding some fun pick would be nice as opposed to taking a t9 power that is not useful. Maybe that would be an option. Instead of your t9, you can reach into a pool power instead. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ...
  23. So, off on a tangent here, about a hero builder. I never game much and CoX is one of my go to games. I played on Live. What really befuddled me was that the original Devs never gave you a builder (or did they?). Didn't players make MIDS and players explain softcapping D and RES and so on. I am sure the game company must've put this info out somewhere but I obtained the relevant info from players. It seems very odd to me that a game is put out and they don't include a hero builder etc. I also just learned about procs (same system in Live?) and how they can up damage. Well, maybe it was last year. Anyway, it seems odd that, unless you dig on forums or hear from players, you won't really know about these things (and many other things). This isn't meant to be a gripe but more of a discussion.
  24. I put this into a build if there's room. I will usually prioritize set bonuses over something like this. Sure, it has a decent chance of firing in a couple of main attack types but then the -res duration is approximately 10 seconds. So, an attack or two may hit with the -res is in effect. Timing, it's everything. Do I want to always make efforts to time attacks etc? Probably not. Sometimes it'll be a big help but, to me, considering the duration, chance to proc and amount of attacks you can land in that duration...well...it's not a huge deal. Off on a tangent, I usually always take build up or similar powers in builds but now I sometimes question if I need the power (for the same reasons as noted above). Probably because I've CoX'ed a lot during the pandemic and I want to change things up.
  25. Yeah, I prefer Sents to blasters. I team so the damage difference isn't glaring. What is glaring is the survivability. Sents have it. Blasters do too but it's not the same and it gives you a chance to be a bit more free and try different play styles. Also, making a durable blaster can be very expensive in regard to IOs for the toon. This is my main issue with blasters. I don't mind the AT but to make a good one, its an INF sink.
