  1. Much more effective on support ATs and in team situations but generally if you're alone the end cost for the damage buff isn't worthwhile. It's at least useful in that it does not need any slotting whatsoever and can get by with just an IO EndRedux so you can put the level up slots elsewhere. IMO, you should be taking it on support ATs if you can. Defenders and SoA get the highest values out of it, and SoA can double down on it with their own version. Masterminds have no reason not to take it as it's more damage for all pets. Controllers and Corrupters are also good with support and more won't hurt. Other ATs, maybe if you have a power pick left over but the lower values make it much less enticing. I would also say Assault is the lowest priority of the three toggles. Maneuvers is great for survival (especially for SoA as their own version has much higher values) and also accepts a Luck of the Gambler unique while Tactics has the accuracy and perception bonuses to help land those stronger hits.

On a related note, I originally didn't know you could uncheck that box during initial character creation and though you had to haul your ass to the tailor before you could use more than two colors across your suit. This was before you could chance your outfit at trainers and before Atlas had an Icon branch. At least once did I make the trek from getting off the bus in Atlas to the back corner of Steel just to add more color to my outfit (this was also before they merged the tram lines, so I was coming from the opposite corner of Steel without any travel powers).
  3. These Fire and Ice weapons man... Huge > Weapons (Dual Blades) > Left Blade For Huge characters, the Left Blade for Dual Blades lists "Fire and Ice Sword - Elemental" as "Fire and Ice 2" despite using the correct name for the Right Blade. Additionally "Flaming Sword" is listed twice for the left, with the first one being a copy of the "Fire Sword" just above it. And much like my earlier report, "Fire and Ice 2" and the second "Flaming Sword" appear to be copies of each other. The Right Blade menu also has "Fire and Ice Sword - Elemental" and "Flaming Sword" as copies, but does not duplicate "Flaming Sword" like Left Blade does.
  4. When it runs out or is reactivated before it finishes it consumes around 15 endurance.
  5. Fairly certain that's not a bug. Hide's AoE Defense is massive to help prevent you from incidentally getting hit by a stray bullet while you set up your stealth attack. That AoE boost is also supressed when not Hidden and in combat.
  6. My understanding with most of the offensive auras for Stalker is that when you're in the Hidden state, their effects are supressed so you won't drop out of Hidden by getting too close to things. Cloak of Fear and Oppressive Gloom should only start working once you're not Hidden but if you're standing there while Hidden they won't do anything. Whirlwind from the Speed Pool is an exception, as that will work while Hidden and break your stealth.
  7. Armored Rikti mobs have something like 50% resistance to lethal. Combined with boss-tier HP attacking them with swords or guns will amonut to tickling them most of the time and no amount of Build Up or Assassain's Strike will change that.
  8. It's all on a power by power basis. There are inconsistencies for sure but every power that is effected by Domination should have that noted in their "detailed info" tab. You'll see something along the lines of "3.0 Magnitude Hold Only while Domination is active" on most powers. Mostly it's by design.
  9. This is also not exclusive to Column and Council. Any other mob that can turn into a boss will do so regardless of mission settings. So Red Caps, Zeus Titans formed from two hercs, Apparitions merging or breaking from their boss-tier host, etc, will all spawn bosses no matter what.
  10. I find it a lot easier to create backgrounds for characters of Praetorian origin, likely because Praetoria's lore is much more established compared to Primal Earth. Compared to my Primal types, my Praetorians almost always have more flavor out of the box. I have headcannon for my Primals for sure but just haven't sat down to put their zest into words. So here's a few of my Praetorians that I have done so with. Augmented Reality, a solid-light hologram of a person who believes they are playing Guardians of Praetoria (a popular game mentioned in passing during the Deputy Assistant of Information's story arc), except they are instead unknowingly controlling an actual holographic soldier employed by the IDF to fight the Resistance. Due to character limits I couldn't add the extra note that, following the events of the Praetorian story and learning the truth about what they actually were doing, this particular player was able to get in touch with the Vanguard after fleeing Praetoria who were then able to set up and authorize continued use of the VR hologram tech so that the player could continue fighting the good fight. Megan Volt, the only survivor of a super soldier program devised by Neuron that involved subjecting its (unwilling) participants to painful and deadly amounts of electricity, much like Synapse but conducted differently. Also similar to Synapse, she's pissed and wants to do whatever she can to bring down Neuron and the Empire that allowed this to happen to her. Outland Warrior, a scavenger from a region of Praetorian Earth deemed too inhospitable for even Hamidon to reclaim (someplace like the Sahara or the Australian Outback perhaps). The humans that reside there live Mad Max style, but stories of a utopia beyond the wastes occasionally sees the hardiest attempt to find it. One such adventurer was able to reach the city of Praetoria but found that the utopia he had discovered was nothing like the legends foretold. Finally, a non-Praetorian I gave a quick blurb to. Created during Halloween, Kindred Huntress is a vampire turned vampire hunter after being demonstrated unusual compassion by a group of humans so now she goes after the vampires seeking to harm humanity as a means of returning the favor.
  11. This happens frequently. Because Calvin Scott himself is a contact with a story arc, he will often offer the arc without introducing you to the proper contact (Crow in this case). If you do his story arc out of order Crow is killed part way through it and will not show up for the remainder of your stay in Praetoria, locking you out of the rest of the Crusader storyline until you reach Primal Earth and have access to Ouroboros. Calvin isn't supposed to offer his story arc right away but does anyway for some reason. Avoid taking it if it shows early and instead meet with Aaron Walker (the Warden contact) then call Calvin back after you've spoken to Aaron and he should send you to Crow. The best thing you can do at this point is to finish Calvin Scott's arc anyway, and if you're RPing in such a way that you refuse to do Warden missions, just run missions from Message Man that fit your theme until you can leave for Primal Earth or First Ward at 20. Strangely enough, Noble Savage shouldn't be a contact in mainline Praetoria and shouldn't be in your contacts menu until you've completed Anna Palatine's story arc in First Ward. In fact Savage isn't even present to speak to until that point. What he's doing in your contact window at your point of time is definitely not correct either.
  12. Faultline [-745.3 -181.8 423.7] Very slight, the piles of dirt on the barges in the flooded sections of Faultline aren't quite resting on the barges. If you position the camera just right you can see through the very bottom edge of the pile and see things on the other side. You can also target objects and enemies on the other side through this seam.

High Roller (dice7) is awarded for having Burkholder's Bane (Heroes) or Deuces Wild (Villains) Tablet Write I believe is the architect tablet, which should now come from Thrill Seeker (previously Mission Engineer). Drenched Donuts is a bunch of coffee and donut emotes awarded by the Old Fashioned badge in Faultline. There isn't a Villain equivilant....yet.
  14. I never flash to it unless I didn't start as a Villain, but Brother Hammond is one of my favorite red arcs. You take advantage of a random Luddite spouting his nonsensical prophecy by fufilling it. This causes him to let you take command of the Luddites and you use them as a distraction to rob a bank. The distraction causes the PTS to go all haywire and Dr. Aeon is pissed at you, but unable to do anything about you due to the power failures and his suit being out of juice. You end up fixing the mess for a nominal fee, and all is well. The real cherry on top for this arc is the souviener though where in the wake of these events, Lord Recluse saw fit to force Dr. Aeon to write you a letter thanking you for saving Cap from the Luddites and the PTS overload and the letter is full of snark and sarcasm. P.P.S. May a dimensional portal open within your innards, causing you to explode into a shower of blood and Rikti monkeys.

  16. Old Hamidon was pretty rough. Prior to i8 the mitos had a chance to divide every time you fought one which made clearing them out a problem. Then you had to basically spam holds on the core to prevent it from using a move that spawned a yellow mito on top of everyone in the zone (it could do this at 50%, 25% and 10%, similar to it respawning all of its mitos now). The volume and positioning of the yellow mito spawns were enough to cause the whole thing to fail if it happened and Hami could pretty easily break out of the holds. This was also long before incarnates and even inventions so everyone there was pretty average by today's standards.
  17. I still stand by my Thugs/Sonic being a clever Mastermind concept but Sonic is just rife with too many skippable powers and underwhelming effects. If you want to try it, go ahead. The concept I run is that my character is the lead singer in a travelling crime fighting punk rock band (think of something like Josie and the Pussycats). Her thugs are her bandmates and road crew, and that one creepy guy who stalks the band and is at every show. They make sure to save the day just in time to make it to their next show. Catch them later for their next performance at the Rusty Rivet in New Overbrook. For bonus points, if you take Mace Mastery one of the mace options is the Celestial Axe, which serves as a fun little guitar looking thing, despite being an axe and not a guitar. But as for play, it's not terrible but still underwhelming. Sonic barriers do give the thugs a lot of resistance, breaking 70% to nearly everything (with uniques). My slotting has 76% to all resistances other than Psi, which is 35% due to the uniques. The Arsonist is 90% F, Enforcers are 90% L and Bruiser is 90% S/L. Defense uniques, Maneuvers, and Enforcer auras put them at roughly 30% positional defense with 45% AoE. They're able to take a few hits, but they still suffer the rapid cycle of death MM pets usually suffer anyway, The barriers can also be applied to your Gang War, giving them a little bit more staying power with the chaos they bring. Sonic Siphon is useful for softening targets for the primarily lethal barrage from your pets. The Bruiser is a great target for Disruption Field as he will melee while the rest of the thugs stay back (you have to reset it whenever you use an elevator). He can potentially be a good target for Sonic Repulsion if you slot a KB/KD into the power as things near him will get knocked over but that power's end cost just sucks and end management can become an issue if you're also running Leadership and Medicine like I do, and Web Envelope also eats that endurance. Clarity seems redundant since Sonic Dispersion already adds some status protection, but it does keep the thugs from getting mezzed if they wander off. Sonic Cage is stupid, no one ever uses jail powers. Liquify, I want to like it but I can't. It seems like it should be a great defense and tohit debuff but it's trash. The issue is that it's location based and has nothing to prevent mobs from escaping it; no snare and minimal knockdown if any. Even as a proc bomb it sucks, and the worst is that the recharge is so ungodly long that you'll never have it when you want it. Personal power picks, Super Speed for travel, take if you want. Combat Jumping, Maneuvers, Scorpion Shield and slotting provide modest defenses, 40% S/L, 30% M/E. Resistances are about 30% across the board and Sonic Dispersion adds some useful status protections. Dual Wield and Mace Beam Volley for attacks if desired, though MBV is an end suck. Dual Wield has a couple proc options but is just a good place to slip a Thunderstrike more than anything. Medicine pools help cover Sonic's lack of heals, Aid Other and Aid Self are good for staying alive, can possibly squeeze in Field Medic if desired but the benefits aren't that great unless you really need Aid Other to be uninterruptable. Standard Leadership set. As for standing out...Thermal can probably do better overall since it also gets the resist shields and status protection for pets, along with solid heals and Forge. Melt Armor is also superior to Liquefy in every aspect. Honestly I couldn't tell you what makes this build stand out compared to other Thugs/X, but I fell in love with the concept and just rolled with it.
  18. Dwarf melee attacks have a taunt effect according to City of Data, but only on the targets they hit. The Dwarf version of Gleaming Bolt appears to taunt as well.
  19. Been a bit, I got a few more. Thalassophobia; Psi/Energy Stalker A terrible creature from the depths of the ocean. Be afraid of what lurks beneath the surface... Augmented Reality; Claws/Energy Scrapper A digital construct controlled by someone believing they're playing a video game. What a ridiculous concept! Cosmic Trance; Pistols/Sonic Blaster A space-faring diva who moves to the rhythm of the beat and the shot of her blasters. Inspired by Ulala of Space Channel 5. Professor Lava; Seismic/Thermal Corrupter Powered by a geothermal super suit, he controls such forces to the benefit of his allies and to the woe of his enemies. Obsinister; Dark/Stone Blaster Obsidian always seems to be affiliated with demons it seems, so it's only natural that maybe it would have a mind of it's own? Sub-Arctic Warden; Cold/Beam Defender Arctic exploration can be dangerous, it's best not to go without support. A solid cryosuit usually does the trick.
  20. Brickstown [-2416.8 -7.6 -391.1] Holiday event related, this one present in Sentinel Park spawns several feet in the air. For some reason it also didn't spawn anything upon a "naughty" result.
  21. One thing you might have forgotten, Devices also gets Snoke Grenade which is an autohit -perception on targets that also won't break your stealth or cause enemies to aggro (as long as you don't use procs in it). With Smoke Grenade and Field Operative you'll achieve a similar level of stealth to being fully invisible.
  22. Heroes aren't allowed inside it, but there's a bar right next door to the police precinct in the NE corner of Atlas Park.
  23. Steel Canyon [-4703.9 32.0 56.2] This set of power lines passes directly through the monorail tracks. While closer inspection would show that the lines aren't actually touching the tracks in any way, having live electrical wires so close to a presumably steel structure can't be safe. Should the wind pick up who knows what sort of things would happen if the wires touched the tracks and what effect it would have on the city's poorly designed public transit. And given the number of supers running or flying at super sonic speeds, one simply passing through could cause untold damage from the windshear alone!
  24. I took a page from Synapse; I have a Speedster themed Elec/Martial Blaster. Burst of Speed is a good way to simulate zipping around the battlefield and lightning tends to be thematically a fast attack (even if Electric Blast itself isn't). Throw in Super Speed/Speed of Sound and the Streak path aura and you've got discout Flash/Synapse.
  25. I like to use them on missions wherr mobs have spawned but aren't yet hostile. Drop 6 or 7 in a group before you trigger them to become hostile then watch the fireworks.
