  1. PvP zones aren't available. Probably no guarentee of user safety for traveling there, and also probably difficulty setting enrty points for two factions with the same power.
  2. Brutes (and Stalkers) get Superior Conditioning since, once upon a time, they both had access to Conserve Power in Energy Aura and Electric Armor before both those powers were reworked into Energize. When Anchilary Pools were mirrored over that was taken into consideration and Superior Conditioning was the solution. That said, you're not wrong. Tankers (and Scrappers) would certainly benefit from Superior Conditioning as well, especially since Electric Armor (and Energy Aura for Scrappers) has been ported over. This isn't a bug though.
  3. Something I noticed on Agent Watkin's mission to Investigate Pathogen's Warehouse. The map has a persistent debuff in play that reduces regen, recovery, and max hp/end. While that's normal, I went in on a Mastermind and noticed my pets were not suffering from it. Even more interesting, the Boosters you can find on the map that counter the effect for a short while also work on the pets, giving the pets the full buff without the map's debuff.
  4. Very likely she is someone another contact sent you to as part of a mission, such as delivering a package or getting local information. Purple rings usually indicate things like that as the Security Chiefs never give missions but the missions involving them often have you picking up a detail from them.
  5. Haven't noticed this personally, are you a Scrapper running a damage aura that doesn't taunt? Those tend to scatter mobs. Also some mobs love to run away for no reason. Cabal and Longbow Eagles are particularly bad offenders. On an unrelated note, I took my Sonic/Ninja Blaster out for a spin to see the new Shinobi and melee changes. I love that Sting hits damn hard now and Lotus charges super quick. Shinobi's crit damage is really all over the place though and I have no idea what's dictating the damage. I see powers like Shriek and Sting doing what looks like the correct damage (if the 80% is a guideline) but some powers are way higher than expected (Choking Powder and Char (Fire Mastery) both crit for more damage than the DoT would deal), while some are much lower (Scream critted for less than one tick of damage, while Dreadful Wail did far less than the damage proc I put in it), and then Siren's Song crit for more damage than it deals as well, despite being a super weak attack to begin with. All of my hits were against Knives of Vengeance of equal level in Dark Astoria and I assume they have lethal resistance (most everything does, but I didn't check).
  6. Just one for today. I've used up most of my alts since discovering the thread so now they'll probably be showing as I make them. Shotgun Surgeon. Assault Rifle/Pain Domination Corrupter. Don't worry, he's a doctor. A little bit ironic in this one as I had this concept just a day before I went in for a medical procedure myself. Nothing serious, just interesting timing on the idea.
  7. A few faster animations wouldn't hurt. Psi and Rad Blast could use some more attack speed in some of their powers (Scream, Tornado, Haze, and Bomb specifically). Rad Melee could use some more speed too, but I think there's a reason they're sluggish with the contamination gimmick but at least they feel super satisfying to land, especially Radiation Siphon ans Atom Smasher.
  8. Also one of my favorites. Back on live I initially rolled one to serve as a Hami healer (before raids were over in minutes) with overwhelming regen buffs from spamming trees and acceleration. Then I discovered the absolute monster that is Carrion Creeper Vines...
  9. There's even a badge named 'Kill Skuls' and 'Kill Skuls' grafitti in some of the more vandalized locales of the city. It's absolutely intentional.
  10. Maybe not the correct answer, but if you're running missions out of order, Katie Douglas 'leaves' First Ward if you've gone through Vanessa DeVore's arc and doesn't return until you go through Mistress Maria's story arc as during this time Katie is reintergrated into First Ward's Seer Network.
  11. If it helps, you can toggle into Black Dwarf while mezzed. Sure, fewer options and overall weaker but at least Dwarf lets you continue doing things if you get mezzed, plus it gives you another chance to refresh your Dwarf Mire buff. I don't think Dwarf protects against fear and confuse though, but not a whole lot does. Clarion does help, and you can also use Clarion when you're already mezzed. Also if you team with Controllers or Dominators, they give you status protection if they're nearby with your inherent power. If you're doing a human build, some pool powers offer limited status protections. Combat Jumping for Immobilize (Warshade's own version of Stealth has it too), Acrobatics for Knockback and (weak) Hold, Tactics for Confuse, and Aid Self reduces stun duration (but doesn't protect against it). Also IOs for more KB protections; Blessing of the Zephyr, Steadfast Protection, Karma, and Fury of the Gladiator (3 slot) stack up nicely.
  12. I find my Thermal/Ice Defender is the character I keep pulling out when needed. I certainly enjoy playing a lot of characters of mine, but the Defender is always the one I take whenever a team needs a workhorse. Never underestimate support roles.
  13. I was thinking about this the other day, and I would love to see an IDF EAT. Start off as a PPD or TEST Ranger while advancing through the main stories of Praetoria, and after a certain point you can swap into a Ranger (IDF or DUST) or Heavy Commander (with the rocket backpacks) with both sides being able to summon battle orbs or even TEST/DUST reinforcements. After leaving Praetoria, they could maintain contact with their EAT contact and continue performing operations on Primal Earth, either setting up sabotage for the IDF or perhaps providing intel or support to bolster the Primals.
  14. Would that mean if enough people showed up in Kings Row to cause a Kings Row 2 to be created (similar to Atlas or RWZ during busy times/raids), a Paladin would spawn in the newly created KR2?
  15. Took my Peacebringer along for Field Agent Keith Nance's arc. When fighting the double Peacebringer, they seem to swap into White Dwarf form around 50% health, but visually they don't do that. The double uses Dwarf attacks but does not take the form of a Dwarf, resulting in some strange animations. Most of the Human-Dwarf attacks resulting in the double moonwalking in different directions and movement consisted of a menacing hover. These are temporary though, at some point the double swaps back to human attacks and uses normal animations again. I assume the doppelganger Peacebringer would essentially use the same attacks and animations as a PPD Quantum but when fighting those guys they swap forms correctly, so no idea what was happening here. Maybe something to do with using the female body? PPD are all male so maybe female (and possibly huge) got overlooked for Kheldian doppelgangers?
  16. There's a gardener digging up a spot near Ms. Liberty in Atlas Park right now, looking to set up the Christmas decorations. Seems he's not happy about his job. Can't an Illusion Controller just make everybody believe the trees turned into pines for winter? I'm getting tired.
  17. Wasn't that in relation to certain movement boosting powers supressing others? Such as using Ninja Run with Shinobi-iri?
  18. Unless i'm misunderstanding, Midnight Grasp is already a 'Superior' ST attack, doing a lot of damage up front and suplementing it with a decent DoT afterward. It does an enormous amount if damage already for an attack with such a quick animation. It's already the strongest ST in the set at that.
  19. They were definitely in super packs. I don't recall the Rogues/Vigilantes packs being available but Heroes/Villains were. My old Dom and Troller definitely had their sets in their builds, the Psi proc in Roots was a big source of my damage on my old Troller. If they were available with Alignment Merits, I would expect them to have cost around 8-20, I recall the PvP sets could be purchased with alignment merits for an ungodly amount of those, and you generally could only get one or two of those per day if you committed to it.
  20. I know there are changes to Dark Melee in the pipeline to aid with AoE, but even now my Dark/Bio is pretty beastly and not even 50 yet. Dark has incredible ST damage and with Offensive Augment and Soul Drain most fodder enemies die in single hits from Life Drain or Twilight Grasp, or survive with enough health to die to the damage aura instead. Even if they are slow cooldowns, Soul Drain and Dark Consumption still do solid damage and have the nice added benefits of boosting damage further or restoring endurance. The change to Touch of Fear in the next patch should really help, less needing to hop around and position Shadow Maul. Dark also sports a lot of -To Hit so you also get some extra survival capability on the nature of things being less likely to hit, especially if you're fighting 1v1 with an AV/GM.
  21. Tankers aren't normally my thing. I never got one to 50 on live servers despite playing for a majority of the game's run. I don't even remember having any in progress at shutdown. Here on Homecoming though, I found my Tanker legs, or rather wings since her concept is a flaming angel/Valkyrie type deal, with a Fire/Dual Blades setup. A lot more effective than I expected given the bad reputation Dual Blades seems to have, Knockdown IOs in Typhoon and Sweeping for crowd control with Fiery Embrace and Melt Armor really amplifying the damage which is one of the biggest problems I have playing Tankers and the IO building I put into it made it surprisingly sturdy, even managing to somewhat patch the Psi holes (though that's still the weak spot). As of now, she's the only one. I spend most of my time solo so running low damage ATs tends to not be my thing. I'm trying a couple others though, maybe after the Energy Melee changes go into effect i'll try EM/Electric again, and I had a great idea for a Shield/Axe the other day i'm working on now (though I might have too many ideas going at once, such is CoH and altitis).
  22. Oh hell yeah. PPS without the silly purple cloud is fantastic. Now all my ice-sliding characters can make more sense. And it also works with other path auras too, how about using Slide with the Wake aura to surf the city streets.
  23. Separate post for this one, since the picture is too large but the concept is too good to not share. Garage Band, Thugs/Sonic Mastermind. A punk rocker and her travelling band. Together they solve crimes ala Josie and the Pussycats and then rock your socks off at the local bar. The player character is the vocalist, the Enforcers are guitar and bass, the Bruiser is on drums, and the Punks are the stage crew.
  24. Here's a couple more of mine. Guardian Armor, Shield/Axe Tanker. A self-propelled suit of powered armor that seeks to defend innocents from evil. Originally conceptualized as a dullahan type character, but the tech options are much more interesting. Rail Baron, Titan/Fire Brute. A stereotypical railroad baron type character, the first thing I thought of when I saw that one of the Titan Weapon variants was a railroad crossing sign. Where the heck did he get it anyway? There are no proper trains anywhere in the CoX universe. Buttery Goodness, Water/Dark Corrupter. Yes, he's pretty much a man made of butter. Yes, the idea is as awful as it sounds. Yes, I freaked someone out in Atlas Park by using the Propose emote in front of them. (I don't remember who that person was, sorry if you see this and had blocked out that particular memory). Blazing Knuckle, Street/Fire Scrapper. A man with cybernetic enhancements, allowing him to strike with devastating fiery punches and powerful kicking attacks. Came about from the idea of combining Fiery Embrace with Crushing Uppercut for maximum damage. Also takes some inspiration from Doomfist from Overwatch.
  25. Television always gets honorable mentions for being absurd and chock full of references. The TV makes you force Dr. Aeon to write a paper and get it notarized by Viridian and Efficiency Expert Pither so that Arbiter Daos can set aside more time for Arachnos operatives to watch TV. It's as silly as it sounds. Then it sends you to destroy the Radio, the very same Radio you worked for in Port Oakes if you found it, though the souvenir/mission clear makes it possible that that whole thing was a TV-induced dream.
