  1. I haven't updated my background since I updated to Windows 10 several months ago, i'm lazy. But, I do have a bunch of backgrounds I've used in the past. Check them out. This was the last background I used before updating. I use a program called Launchbox to handle a fair bit of my emulation and the program has a repository of artwork for games. This is something it had for Chrono Trigger. Before that, this screenshot from the beginning of Hollow Knight At one point, I was using this artwork made for Dust An Elysian Tail Wasn't used as a desktop background, but I had this shot from Zero Wing as my login screen background for the longest time. Not my desktop background, but I use the official promotional artwork for Mega Man in Smash Bros as my phone's background. There was this developer screenshot from Sonic & All-Stars Racing, featuring AGES as the F-14 Tomcat from Afterburner flying over Outrun Bay. My newest background is this fun little Splatoon and Team Fortress crossover. Not pictured because there's too many of them. For a while I also had a rotation of screenshots of the various starships I piloted in Star Trek Online on rotation. The game might have been meh, but damn were some of those visuals great looking. If there's demand I might post them later.
  2. I think i'm gonna be a little sappy, but perhaps my time playing Pokemon Silver when I was younger showed me that. I started the game over after giving up my first attempt when I got to the E4. Kid me didn't put much work into team composition, and Meganium gets bodied by Will while I had no backups. So I try again. Totodile out of the gate, but this time I caught a Sentret early on. Now I don't know what exactly happened, but I gravitated toward that Sentret above all others. I taught her Headbutt in the forest and she started practically clear cutting every trainer in my way, especially after evolving into Furret. Every single stat boost item and Rare Candy I found went to her and she became my champion. Nearly every trainer went down in a single hit to her ferocious Headbutts or a surprise Dynamic Punch against Rock and Steel types, to the point where she could very nearly sweep Red on Mt. Silver (Charizard would outspeed her). Something about that Furret clicked with kid me, as if I had actually developed a bond with her. Sadly she's gone. The battery in my game died long ago, and modern games changed the mechanics so I can't achieve that level of power with another Furret. Still, in her memory I raised a new Furret in X, gave this one a gimmick moveset (not enough power to keep up with anything, so I taught her Trick with the intent of passing off a Choice Scarf to hopefully screw up Pokemon that would use a stat buff move first) and named her Silver in honor of my original girl. If I ever decide to play through Silver again on my 3DS, I might just bring her back.
  3. So when I leveled my Sonic MM past 38, I was severely disapointed by Liquify. I theory the power looks great: knockdown patch that cuts defense and to hit. In practice, the recharge is a lot longer than I would have hoped and since the power has no slow component, it ends up scattering mobs more often then keeping them in range of the debuff field. Perhaps if the power applied the debuffs seperate from the knockdown (so that if mobs escape, they remain weakened for a bit) it would be more useful, but as it stands I barely use it since it causes more problems in the end. Also, Traps-Time Bomb is a terrible power. By the time it goes off the fight's afterparty is already over. The power works conceptually, but the time to detonation does not keep up with the current state of the game. Blaster's Time Bomb is just as bad. It might be difficult to code, but what if the Time Bomb was a Remote Bomb instead? Activating it once will set the bomb, and activating it a second time sets it off if you use it within a minute. Might make it a bit more usable while also keeping in theme with the set.
  4. Legacy screenshots eh, I have a few of those. Let me dig some up that I posted to Steam many years ago during the "freedom" days. Here's a Hami Raid from Protector, one that didn't take 10 minutes but took more like an hour. December 2011 when one of the NCSoft admins decided to give Protector an impromptu Praetorian invasion. "Zwill, I asked for a pony." Anyone remember the BOSS_NAME of VILLAIN_GROUP bug? I had that happen once. I got turrets as the enemy group, as opposed to a lot of people who reported Storm Elementals.
  5. His helmet is comprised of Mecha Armor set pieces. Full Helmets; Helmet is Mecha Armor. Detail 1 is Mecha Side Antennas Only, Detail 2 is empty, Detail 3 is Mecha Mouthguard. Color combination is dark purple and washed-out dark blue. He doesn't actually have an aura, what you're seeing in the picture is his Dark Armor toggles. The glowing eyes are coming from the Soul Noir variant of Obsidian Shield while the rest of the toggles are the standard toggles, minus Cloak of Darkness which uses the "No Fade or Pulse" style so i'm not just a blob of darkness. The screenshot was taken using the Atom Smasher power, giving the dark glowing fist. Here's what he looks like without the toggles. Hard to tell but that's the Freedom Corps Jetpack as a back detail, which I don't use as a jetpack but rather as a power reactor.
  6. You have to die to use Dark's T9 too, but I never saw anyone complain about that.
  7. Few more designs coming at ya! Precambria, Plant/Time Controller Negative Fusion, Radiation/Dark Brute Draco Raptor, Savage/Willpower Scrapper Chromatic Spectrum, Radiation/Temporal Blaster. This costume alone isn't doing justice as his whole theme is being a rainbow generator. All his powers are bright, colorful, and varied. Metamorphicant, Dark/Bio Scrapper. With and without armor toggles. Time's Eclipse, Time/Dark Defender
  8. This isn't my cat but my brother's. This is Abe, he's about 12 years old and he's a super affectionate boy. He's a little skittish around strangers but somehow treats me like he does his owners despite usually hiding from anyone else (even people he should know). He's also pretty lucky to be alive as he had to have his tail removed a couple years ago due to a cancerous cyst. Thankfully it didn't spread beyond the tail so he's all right, though the tail stump took some getting used to.
  9. I don't have the build in Mids or anything, but let me load her up and see what I have. She's not perfectly survivable but Fearsome Stare's Fear and -To Hit along with Dark Servant's -To Hit aura significantly boost survivability. Most things aren't able to hit me after I open with Stare and my Tar Patch > Void Judgement or Tar Patch > Soul Drain > Psychic Wail usually eliminates all but bosses (and stuns any non boss survivors). You'd be right about the proc build, most of my attacks have two damage procs, even Fearsome Stare has two. Mental Blast is the only normal attack without one, but I used it to three-slot Superior Scourging Blast for the 10% Recharge instead. Where i'm at right now I managed 102.5% Recharge with potential to add a bit more once purples are in. With everything active other than Afterburner: Defense: Defensive Toggles are Hover, Shadow Fall, and Maneuvers: 17.29% across the board, with 26.04% Ranged and 27.29% Energy/Negative. Afterburner would add 14.78% to everything, but obviously not helpful in the "Only Affecting Self" state. Very few defensive set bonuses in the build, Superior Malice, one Thunderstrike at 3 slots and two Basilisk's Gaze, are providing the R/E/N boosts. I'd say more defense comes from the -To Hit components of Dark than anything; Fearsome Stare has -19.7% To Hit, and Dark Servant just flatlines anything's To Hit by being close as long as they're not resisting. Intuition Radial can increase that -To Hit further. Resistance: Resist toggles are Shadow Fall (E/N/P) and Dark Embrace (S/L/N/T): 39.04% S/L, 12.5% F/C, 33.74% E, 48.21% N, 32.24% P, 25.48% T. Reactive Defenses can boost all of that by up to 10% at low health. Twilight Grasp on a single target will reduce the damage it does temporarily, Void Judgement Radial has a steep damage debuff and the Dark Servant can also use Twilight Grasp along with Darkest Night. My usual builds tend to shoot for Recharge bonuses when possible, so I generally pick up a couple minor increases along the way to that. If you want, I can rebuild this in Mids and get a proper setup to show it off. Again it's not professional and very scotch tapey, it's not even complete as I don't have any of the VRs in place besides ATOs.
  10. Hey, I inspired something! I love board games and always enjoy getting chances to play them with friends and family. Some of my personal favorites: Terraforming Mars is pretty recent, but I enjoy it when I play it. Last time I played I managed to snag up all the special colonies (I had Noctis and Phobos) while also churning out VP every turn by turning titanium into warships. That was a fun round for sure. I'm always down for some Munchkin. I have the first seven expansions, along with some crossover promotionals like the PAX pack. Things get real crazy when you start factoring in the expansions. Add some beer and it's a good time all night. Scrabble is an old favorite. I used to play it with friends in high school during our study breaks on slow weeks. One time I even got my English teacher in on it and won against him. My brother and his wife enjoy playing Pandemic and I get in on the action. It can be difficult but co-op board games are enjoyable and tend to not end with people sleeping on the couch that night. 6 or 7 years ago I was bit by the Magic the Gathering bug. Spent a good year collecting cards and testing my mettle at a local comic shop that held Friday Night Magic sessions. Played during the Innistrad/Return to Ravnica period where multi-color decks were everywhere and dual lands were more prevailant then basics. My career wasn't a very noteworthy one however, as I was only in the top 8 once in that span. The only deck that managed that was a blue/black deck themed around rats where the primary gimmick of the deck was to force my opponent to discard their hand then swarm them with rats that could multiply. It was a nasty deck when it worked as it left my opponent with few options and even penalized them for having an empty hand (ran 4 copies of an enchantment that dealt 3 damage each during standby if their hand size was 0 or 1). Innistrad mechanics of being able to play out of the Graveyard made the strategy a little less effective however and sometimes even backfired spectacurally as a result. Cards Against Humanity, I used to play that weekly with some of my old internet friends (we played a web version). So much fun and of course all the awful answers. Other fun tabletop games: Foxhound where one player is a fox and the other is a hunter with a pack of dogs. The fox has to survive by locating 3 specific tiles out of 20 while the hunter had to trap the fox with his hounds before then. Also Settlers of Catan, Exploding Kittens, The Resistance (i'm a terrible liar), Axis & Allies, Superfight, Photosynthesis, and so many more. I love tabletop games, but just need a few more friends to play them with.
  11. Would certainly be a nice addition. If it does end up on one of the outer islands in Ouro though there should be a portal to reach it so that non-flight capable characters can get to it too. Not everyone has a jetpack.
  12. Blaster Master Zero and Zero 2 were on sale a few weeks ago. Picked those up and have been playing the hell out of them. I love the original Blaster Master on NES but never had the will to sit down and play it through given the difficulty and lack of saves. Zero helped fill a gap in my video game history, and Zero 2 is just an awesome addition to the series.
  13. I used to play D&D 3.5 when it was the current edition. Me and a couple of my friends met weekly, we'd rotate the DM role and run each other's stories with no real campaign or cohesion. Just a bunch of one shots our party got roped into. It was good fun for a while but we ended up having a falling out after we added a couple more friends to the group. There were disagreements about race choices (I wanted to keep things simple and not include some of the more complex races) and accusations of favoritism between a couple of our players when they DM'd. We also all kind of grew up and went our seperate ways after high school. It was fun while it lasted though. Never played any other tabletop games of the same sort, unless you count sampling the Ghostbusters board game from a few years ago. I do love me some regular board and card games though. Games like Terraforming Mars, Munchkin, Photosynthesis, Pandemic, etc. But I don't know how many of them really count in this regard.
  14. I generally dont name my pets, not creative enough, but I have two exceptions. My Thugs/Sonic who's theme is that she's a member of a traveling punk rock band and the thugs are her bandmates while she's on vocals with her Sonic powers. Punks: The Groupie and The Roadie. Arsonist: The SFX Guy. Enforcers: The Guitarist and The Bassist. Bruiser: The Drummer. My old Mercs MM back on live didn't have a set theme, so all of his soldiers were the Cheat Commandos. Soldiers: Fightgar and Gunhaver. Medic: Silent Rip. Spec Ops: Firebert and Ripberger. Commando: Reinforcements. I desperately wanted to rename the guy to Crack Stuntman, but the name was taken every time I tried.
  15. I wasn't aware Morgana was getting a cameo in Paragon City.
  16. I guess I missed that part, but Defenders and Corrupters having 5, is that something I missed that was a Homecoming change? The old wiki only lists four choices for the two: Dark/Power/Psychic/Electricity. I don't recall seeing other choices the last time I leveled a Defender/Corrupter to the APP levels.
  17. One thing that's bugged me about Anchilary pools: why do Blasters get 5 sets while every other AT only gets 4? Even MMs only get 4 and they were somewhat copied over fron Blaster's choices. I would like to see the other ATs get a 5th set, and I think there's a good choice: Electrical Mastery for everyone! I know Mu Mastery already does this, but there's still options for non-Mu electricity. Some ideas: Controller/Dominator -Lightning Bolt (Controller)/Short Circuit (Dom) -Power Sink -Charged Armor -Ball Lightning -Surge of Power (Controller)/Discharge (Dominator) Defender/Corrupter -Power Sink -Shocking Bolt -Charged Armor -Energize (longer cooldown) -Thunder Strike OR Shocking Grasp Scrapper/Stalker/Tanker/Brute -Lightning Bolt -Electric Fence -Shocking Bolt -Ball Lightning -EMP Pulse OR Discharge Mastermind -Lightning Bolt -Charged Armor -Shocking Bolt -Ball Lightning -Surge of Power Sentinel (I have no idea what APPs already exist for Sentinel, so stop me if i'm listing what already exists) -Shocking Bolt -Electric Fence -Discharge -Thunder Strike -EMP Pulse
  18. I wish I did, I wing almost all of my builds and am pretty sure i'm nowhere near optimized. Let me pull her up and see what kind of duct tape she's held together with. One thing I liked about Psi Blast is that since many of the attacks have secondary effects it procs pretty well. On my setup I have two damage procs in both Subdue and Telekinetic Blast, filling out the other three slots with Scorging Blast (Recharge boost at 3) and Thunderstrike (Ranged defense at 3). Psychic Scream and Psionic Tornado get damage procs in their Targeted AoEs, along with a bonus proc, a -Res in Scream and an extra damage in Tornado. Malice of the Corrupter in Will Domination, being the strongest ST power and the one with the least damage procs (no options for sleeps). I skipped Lance and Scramble, Lance is nice but doesn't do much special, and Scramble is unnecessary. Twilight Grasp likes procs, and you should be using it often anyway for the debuffs. I fitted it with Touch of the Nictus to boost the healing, but boosting the -To Hit helps too, and it can also take an extra damage proc from Cloud Senses. Tar Patch and Howling Twilight don't need slots to be good, slot them for Recharge is all you really need. I threw a slow into Tar Patch to help keep things in place, but it's probably not necessary. Frakenslot Shadow Fall for both Defense and Resistance. I have three LotG (one Recharge boost), two UBG, and the Steadfast Res/Def. It provides a nice buff with all that. Fearsome Stare Frankenslotted with four Cloud Senses and two Glimpse of the Abyss, damage procs from both sets. Handy to have up for every fight. Petrifying Gaze foiur slotted with Basilik's for the great set bonuses. Dark Servant I did the same, but I also threw in a Cloud Senses damage proc and an IO heal; nearly everything it does has -To Hit, so it procs fairly often, and the Servant is a reliable source of healing. Skipped Darkest Night and Black Hole; Darkest Night being an anchor power makes it easy to screw up use but it is potent and still useful so it's up to you if you want it, but Black Hole is just awkward and not so great (but can be a good panic power if too much gets pulled). Pool choices are up to you. I have the three Leadership toggles and Fly/Hover/Afterburner. End Redux in Leadership, LotG in Hover/AfB, Shield Wall/Reactive Defenses in Hover, BotZ KB protection in Fly. Dropping Flight for another means of travel could easily fit in Hasten or Vengance if desired. I took Dark Mastery for my Anchilary. Dark Consumption is a nice Endurance refill when it's up, but the recharge is long. Slotted it up with Preemptive Optimization to help boost the recharge and endurance drain. Dark Embrace slotted with three UBG (the +HP is here) and the Gladiator's Armor +DEF. Soul Drain is great to make up for Psychic Blast's lack of Aim, plus with a Gladiator's Fury -Res it's a fantastic setup for a Psychic Wail. Avalanche KD proc in there for extra safety. Soul Transfer is nice to have if things go south, and is free slots. All it really needs is a Recharge. Still building for Incarnate stuff, likely looking at Intuition Radial for Alpha choice due to the most effectiveness across all powers as well as the extra range on top of Psi's already increased range; Cardiac is also good to help patch some endurance holes plus a fear boost for Stare. Other Incarnate powers on theming; Void Judgement, Spectral Radial Interface, Ageless or Clarion Destiny (Ageless would very much help endurance woes), Assault or Support Hybrid for whatever is needed. Plenty of choices, I just go with what I think I need. I would suggest checking around the board for some tips for Psi and/or Dark builds and go from there. I'm positive I'm inefficient but I found something that works for me.
  19. I wasn't able to attend the first contest, but were the results of said contest posted anywhere by chance? Would love to see what people came up with.
  20. Skull boss in an early Peacebringer story mission. Hellions and $player! I knew mugging a nun was bad luck.
  21. I'm trying to redevote myself to alts i've already ignored. I have too many characters sitting in the 25-40 range that already have some considerable work put into them. Hell even some of my early game alts need love, there's just too much to do. If I had to pick a couple to focus however... Water/Fire Blaster: A concept I worked on a while back that I got distracted from. I love how completely customizable Water Blast is and how with the right tuning and some imagination you can turn it into pretty much whatever liquid you want. So despite the paradoxical nature of Water and Fire, I decided to recolor the water to look more like crude oil and the fire darkened to look like i'm actually burning oil for my fire powers or something. He was fun to play while I was playing him, with all the AoE he's basically a massive inferno of flames and oil spouts. The hazmat suit for a costume was also a nice touch. Earth/Energy Dom: I expressed a little while ago that I was struggling to focus on a Dominator build, which I asked for some suggestions to try and nail one down. This is the one I settled on and was playing until I got distracted with ideas for other characters but I still want to go back and finish it. The crystal theming from Earth Control seems like a good way to have energy powers too. Certainly want to wrap him up and finally say I've got a 50 for each original base AT (EATs and Sentinel are still in the works; I don't like Sentinels and have trouble conceptualizing EAT themes since they're far less flexible). Peacebringer: Despite having trouble coming up with themes for EATs, I had a sudden inspiration just tonight for one, and thankfully being able to adjust the colors helps. The idea of a rainbow-infused character is one I've always wanted to roll with and while I've tried a couple Blasters (Rad/Temporal and Rad/Electric) with the idea, i'm thinking with Peacebringers and their light-based looking powers perhaps one would fit too. So that's the idea, nearly every power is recolored to give a ton of variety in how the powers look; she's basically a sentient alien prism. I've also got to finish a Peacebringer one of these days. I got one to 41 on live before the shutdown and I feel obligated to finish one as a result. Some other ideas to work on and finish down the line: AR/Devices Blaster: My very first Blaster when I started playing. Dropped him in the old days because it was very much an "edgy teen" character, but with some rekerjiggering and a new name I don't feel so stupid playing him again. SS/Shield Brute: A haphazard guy who smashes everything around the criminals in his pursuit of the law. Expect leveled city blocks when he's on the job. Water/Poison Corrupter: A barista themed character who smites her foes and aids her allies with a copious amount of alcohol. "The cause of, and solution to, all of life's problems!" Claws/Fire Stalker: Rolled back in March as at the time there were none at level 50. While i'm sure that's changed, i'm also sure I could get him to 50 and join the exclusive club. Energy/Energy Sentinel: The one Sentinel build I actually decided I liked, maybe i'll go back to her at some point.
  22. Hmm, I like stats, let me see what i've got at the moment. Total characters: 87 Characters at level 50: 15 By Origin Science: 17 -At 50: 2 Mutant: 10 -At 50: 1 Magic: 17 -At 50: 6 Technology: 17 -At 50: 2 Natural: 26 -At 50: 4 By Archetype Blaster: 15 -At 50: 3 - Ace Longshot (Archery/Energy), Soulblazer (Fire/Dark), Sonic Shroud (Sonic/Ninja) Controller: 6 -At 50: 2 - Precambria (Plant/Time), Shock Squal (Electric/Storm) Defender: 8 -At 50: 1 - Emerald Elegance (Thermal/Ice) Scrapper: 14 -At 50: 2 - Thunder Force (Staff/Electric), Draco Raptor (Savage/Willpower) Tanker: 4 -At 50: 1 - Blazing Angel (Fire/Dual Blades) Warshade: 2 -At 50: 1 - Stygian Stranger (Tri-Form) Brute: 8 -At 50: 1 - Negative Fusion (Radiation/Dark) Stalker: 3 -At 50: 1 - Disco Ninja (Ninja Blade/Reflexes) Mastermind: 5 -At 50: 1 - Garage Band (Thugs/Sonic) Dominator: 7 Corrupter: 8 -At 50: 1 - Impurity (Psychic/Dark) Spider: 2 Widow: 1 -At 50: 1 - Classy Lady (Fortuna) By Alignment Hero: 41 Vigilante: 12 Rogue: 6 Villain: 21 Resistance: 1 Loyalist: 3 Undecided (logged out in Galaxy City Tutorial): 3 Seems i'm still a damage dealer at heart but tend to dabble in support. Not a fan of tanking, and both Stalkers and MMs never clicked with me. Also like to play around with strange and uncommon-looking combos, Sonic/Ninja is practically a paradox theme and some of my other 50s I hardly ever see around.
  23. I've never seen people intentionally muck up that badge myself, but have seen plenty of failed attempts usually due to some kind of negligence. Sands is a big offender but sometimes people often forget or mistakenly use other AoEs. There's also cases where you bring a MM and they let their pets act on their own, negligence once again (I see some people outright tell MMs to get rid of their pets sometimes before engaging). DoT auras and other melee cones also come out at times; Slice/Flashing Steel/Defensive Sweep are all cones too. But I don't think i've ever seen anyone intentionally target the extra zombies. Either that or i've never noticed, it can be pretty crazy in there at times.
  24. Maybe my math is off, but the Recovery Boost from the SG Empowerment station, that doesn't look like 60 minutes.
  25. Using EotS or SS at full charge will increase their damage by adding an extra tick of damage (not significant enough to get around Smashing resistances however), but also add a secondary effect, EotS will debuff foes hit while SS will give you a small buff. You will consume the charges though so you momentarily lose the benefits of your stacked form. Body: Extra Smashing damage, EotS will reduce Resistance, SS will increase your own (I think it's something like 12-13% to all for about 15 seconds) Mind; Extra Psychic Damage, EotS will reduce Recharge, SS will increase your To Hit Soul: Extra Energy Damage, EotS will reduce Defense, SS will increase your Regen/Recovery
