  1. I regret to inform you that you don't know what you're talking about. Sorry homie 😞
  2. Five runs on Poison/Dark/Psy Defender's newest build T4 Intuition Radial / Degen Core / Pyronic Core / Ageless Core / Assault Radial Had Offense, Defense, and Survival Amplifiers 2:02 1:47 1:43 1:59 1:49 Average 1:52
  3. All I know for sure is Tanker and Sentinel SR. Both of which I would say are firmly in “nope, too good already to buff” territory. You’d have to ask others if there are specific buffs that Brutes/Scrappers/Stalkers need exclusively, but I doubt it. OP’s specific suggestions sound kind of ridiculous. He’s literally isolated the few tiny holes SR has (news flash: every set has a few tiny holes) and asked for all of them to be plugged so much so that no SR in the game could ever really die again. I already log on to my SR tank if I need to be sure of not dying. Its nigh immortality doesn’t need to be literal immortality…
  4. I don’t think potentially having to leave a zone on rare occasion for 15 minutes would be a significant strain on me. The much more difficult question is whether or not this whole thread was completely or only partially for the lulz. As a side note, the spontaneous nature of the suggestion might mitigate the hardcore community’s ability to organize on Discord, and that’s always a plus considering one of this game’s biggest PvP problems is its insular community’s absolute refusal to let certain formats be played casually away from a central voice chat server. Basically rendering team Arena a no-go zone, so it needs more of everything else.
  5. No tohit bonus but double the range. 🙂
  6. I’ve told you over and over I run my blasters at 20-25% defense 🙂 doesn’t mean they should be dying.
  7. I mean, yeah, sticking with the tank only works if the non-tanks in question have a basic understanding of how to survive a smidge of aggro in this game.
  8. Last time I was actually on discord and not keeping up with my end on a non-tank, I was simply told “put the god damn bowl down and pop a green” 😭
  9. If you just follow the tank/brute this is a non-issue. Once they’re over the aggro cap more will still herd to them because their teammates are with them and can pull some strays themselves. If you’re still standing still attacking things at their original spawn point after your tank has tried to pull to a herd point, you’re the one causing the chaos. My gang does KM +4 ITF’s reliably in 25-30 minutes or sometimes less, and following the tank is like the most fundamental part of that. So this isn’t a playstyle problem because the tank/brute’s playstyle absolutely works if the team is just paying attention. It sounds like a team communication / PUG problem. I think, perhaps, having serious expectations from either side for how others should play is probably best reserved for non-PUG life.
  10. Yeah no don’t skip it defense debuff resistance is potent stuff
  11. Jaunt is better IMO unless you’re going to grab Fold Space too
  12. I have approximately 107 level 50’s, how do I answer this thread? 🙂
  13. Do we have an idea of how much DPS Degenerative Core or other Interfaces adds to the equation? I guess I never see my raw DPS until the character is complete and tested. When I say I’ve shot for 200 DPS, that’s typically not accounting for Interface, Build Up, time clicking other things, -res, missing, etc. In the building stage I just calculate average damage per attack+procs and sling em together and divide by total arcanatime. So when I calculate roughly 200 DPS on paper, I have no idea if that’s translating to 250 or 300 or what in practice.
  14. Idk about the high end but your assessment seems reasonable. I try to get my S/T chain over 200 minimum on basically anything that’s caring enough about S/T to build a complete S/T chain - at least Tankers and up on the damage hierarchy as long as the build isn’t more AoE-based (like my Bio/Rad or Rad/Savage Tanks). EDIT: plugging in some pylon times to the DPS formula and finding your high end assessments are pretty accurate too. FYI the 500 DPS line is a little over 1:40 to kill a pylon. You need a little over 250 DPS to kill a pylon in 5:00.
  15. I played my SS tanker last night for fun. I remain unconvinced that the crash isn’t more or less appropriate to mitigate the exceptional damage the set does between crashes. Furthermore I never felt a compulsion to tab over to another window.
  16. I believe damage procs also fire at their full amounts during Rage, not just Taunt, Heals, Temp Powers, etc. To say nothing of spending that time herding, repositioning, pulling, etc. Seems people hate the “feel” of Rage but can’t provide any evidence that it is performing below the median/average melee powerset. Comparisons to singular sets say nothing about balance.
  17. EM is not the measuring stick you use for balance though. Again, there can be only one best, so citing the best is not useful. Balance must occur around averages, not extremes.
  18. Yep. I don’t have two builds on that character but this is how I do it on other blasters if I do. An all-ranged that only uses the secondary for the build up and mitigation powers (maybe a proc bombed ranged hold too), often with Fly and perhaps Intuition over Musculature… and then the other build always takes the PBAoE and heavy hitter from the secondary. Switch back and forth with handy little macro buttons as needed 🙂
  19. Can’t remember if I got this answered… @UberGuy do you know why new Fault shows a 6 second recharge for the cone power but 20 seconds for the other part of the power? An obsessive proc rate calculator wants to know!
  20. To be a single target monster that slays AV’s (not including whatever Controllers and Masterminds do), I find you typically need 4 single target attacks to make a complete no-pauses attack chain with your build’s most powerful moves. A few things could get away with 3, like maybe Claws or Dual Blades Scrappers. Some attacks won’t fit with this thinking. For example, Tanker Char with 6 damage procs is not going to fit reliably into a 4 attack rotation with its 32 second recharge. When I plan out an attack chain, I track each attack’s recharge vs the sum of all other attacks’ arcanatimes. As long as the former is less than the latter for each attack, you’ve got yourself a chain. I try to have 2 AoE attacks no matter what. If the character is not intended to be a single target monster and has less than 3-4 single target attacks, it’s likely intended to be an AoE monster and likely has 4+ AoE attacks in that scenario. Unless you’re solo’ing AV’s (S/T needed) or farming (AoE needed), the TL;DR is play how you want and you’ll do great.
  21. Super Strength is already great. Phenomenal damage counterbalanced with a little baby crash. It is admittedly not “the best” set across the board but not every set can be that so that’d be a silly point. @PeregrineFalcon can we get the official ruling from Judge Joe.
  22. Well, I for one would slot Incandescence about 100x more often if I could just get the 80% +healing without the piss-off-most-teammates TP…… Sure there are tactical times to TP to objectives or AV’s or herd points that won’t piss off many people, but those opportunities don’t necessarily come around every 120 seconds so you can’t reasonably perma it without the permission of your friends.
  23. AoE holds and mayyybe Mass Confusion are the only ones that should be considered for slight recharge reductions so definitely hard disagree there. AoE stuns? Knockdown patches? No and no. Seeds of Confusion really needs its recharge increased. The fact that you can make powers like Chrono Shift or Heat Loss perma at all is kinda insane… Clearly you’re in the camp headed by Luminara that massively undervalues support sets because the majority of those would be ridiculously overpowered with the slightest additional buff at this point. In terms of powerset potency, Cold Domination, Time Manipulation, Kinetics, Radiation Emission, Trick Arrow, Nature Affinity, and Storm Summoning at the least are already in “can receive zero additional buffs without being completely broken” territory. Seriously are you actually having trouble on these sets or are you just hungry for the next stage of power creep?
  24. I sincerely don’t understand this post. Are you implying there aren’t extremely good reasons for powers like Phantom Army, Carrion Creepers, Heat Loss, Overgrowth, Benumb, Farsight to have far longer recharges than literally anything in a blast or melee set? I can only think of a couple of cases where I could possibly get on board with what your posts seem to be implying. Liquefy, maybe AoE holds… dunno what else off the top of my head. To the extent your second post is technically true, that truth seems very well justified by design…
