AE Access in SG Bases [RP Focused]
twozerofoxtrot replied to twozerofoxtrot's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
This isn't a pushback on the instance-to-instance to observation, but just a thought: We were going instance to instance willy nilly when we could enterbasefrompasscode out of missions. The juice might not be worth the squeeze but certainly there is precedent for the possibility. -
I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not, but I can't really think of any major drawbacks so here goes: I've seen @GM Kal solicit for suggestions to the Devs to improve quality of RP, and this post is basically in the spirit of that. Lots of RP SGs on Everlasting use AE in it's intended purpose for running RP story arcs. These have been some of my favorite moments in game. It is a tad immersion breaking, though, to have to exit the SG Base and assemble in an AE building in Kings Row or where ever to move on to the next leg of the adventure. Since we already have things like the Crystal of Ice and Flame as a base object, and AE missions can be crafted/edited from anywhere with the earned accolade power, this didn't seem like too much of a stretch. And it's not like we're removing portions of the population from the environment this way as accessing a base would be an extra step for most farmers, without any added benefits that immediately comes to mind. Sorry if this has been brought up before and subsequently shot down, I did a quick scan and didn't see anything. Likewise I wasn't sure if this should go in RP, Everlasting, AE, or here. So I went to the place where it would probably be worst received for the most punishing feedback. Disclaimer: I don't even RP anymore. I just thought this would be a nice QoL thing for RPers to have. The spirit is willing but the flesh is in a bad time zone.

I offer this: Don't get so hung up on your hooks that your characters can't grow. Or that you can't grow out of your characters, for that matter. On the flipside: If you want your characters to remain static and unchanging, because that's how you like them, then take breaks frequently. Rotate around, or play a different game entirely. That way when other players see those characters around, the feeling is like finding your favorite old hoodie in the back of the closet rather than the same pair of socks you wear all the time.

Our hero wakes up tied to a chair in a dark room. The briny air and undulating floor beneath suggests a ship. From the shadows, a tidy monologue begins. "Enough with this talk of trade. Do you wish to know why you are here? It is simple. There is only enough room for thirty on this vessel. No more, no less. When a fresh new face arrives, room must be made on the roster. A fellow traveler goes overboard into the abyss." A sanctimonious smile spreads into a wicked grin. "And you have failed to earn your place. Goodbye...." TLDR: I only keep 30 characters at a time. Alts get deleted like a bad Reddit post. I feel like a hoarder with even that many.

Art/Commission Sharing Thread
twozerofoxtrot replied to Midnight Blue Mage's topic in Art & Multimedia
Recent commission Glyphica by AcuDraws! [mildly NSFW] I requested that he take some liberties with her in-game design- specifically her tattoos. There were a lot of elements of his personal style I wanted to see imprinted on Glyph. It's my current favorite of her art collection. I'm just incredibly thrilled will how it came out, and how much attention he paid to the details. Speaking of details, if you want to zoom in to see the tattoos, blemishes on her skin, logo on the grill of the truck, etc, etc: there is 16mb version available as well. -

This is how I always have, and always will, imagine Stunts. One of my favorite heroes to see on Everlasting. Franchini is soooo talented, he can do so many styles. This is such great art, congrats! -
Hidden Tray Afterburner / Evasive Maneuvers Bind bug
twozerofoxtrot replied to twozerofoxtrot's topic in Bug Reports
And it did not work for me. Reasons for this probably exist, but it's irrelevant. The whole point is to not have Afterburner in a tray slot. I already posted in the OP that a workaround is to drag AB into a tray before turning off the Popup Tray. If I had to guess, because I had trays 1-3 already full, it did not automatically place the power in a tray. -
Hidden Tray Afterburner / Evasive Maneuvers Bind bug
twozerofoxtrot replied to twozerofoxtrot's topic in Bug Reports
This does not work. As I said: The issue, according to @Faultline is that EvMa still has "Afterburner" as the internal name, while new Afterburner is named "Fly_Boost" internally. The solution for now appears to be using Fly_Boost in any bind or macro involving Afterburner. -
So it seems like this bug from Beta has cropped up again but in a slightly different form. Issue: Key binding Afterburner [Bind KEY "powexecname Afterburner"] causes that bind to instead activate/deactivate Evasive Maneuvers. Caveat: This only appears to happen when the Popup Tray is hidden by Null. Otherwise, the bind works as intended. Also tested [Bind KEY "powexectoggleon Afterburner"]. When the tray is up, it functions normally. When the tray is hidden, the power fails to activate. This is different behavior from how Jaunt and Translocation worked when their tray was hidden. Is this WAI? NOTE: Dragging Afterburner to a pre-existing power tray prior to disabling the Popup Tray circumvents the bug and serves as a workaround. However, as stated above, this was unnecessary for Jaunt and Translocation so logically it seems like Afterburner should be following suit. [EDIT] The above work around appears to be inconsistent. It will often not work in bases, or after being used once in open world, will stay grayed out and not properly recharge.

General Feedback: Issue 27, Page 2
twozerofoxtrot replied to Arcanum's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Not sure if I should post this minor bug here, or in travel powers, but going invis causes a little bit of weirdness on Flying Carpet, allowing you to see through yourself and it sometimes, (not always). -
Blaster > Temporal Manipulation > Time Wall This power slots damage IOs, but not damage set IOs. I was confused by this, and not sure if it's working as intended or a bug.

Can confirm, the base is looking pretty great!

Let's make a FEMALE huge body already!

Don't tell me we can get this miracle of modern graphics, and not FEMALE HUGE. -
A note on Rune of Protection changes
twozerofoxtrot replied to Captain Powerhouse's topic in Open Beta Testing
That's some good badge credit right there. -
I am a VIKING. Emerging from the Black Forest, my troll-hide garb covered in sweat, mud, and blood. I trudge toward my banner-hall. My weapons are warped, tools shattered, but in my travel sac is a load of prized copper and tin. By morning, I will have a fine new bronze spear added to my arsenal. Anyone else enjoying Valheim?

It doesn't. A long, loonnnggg while back it was changed so there were diminishing rewards; basically solving the OP's problem. (wow a nearly 2 yr old zombie thread!)

A note on Rune of Protection changes
twozerofoxtrot replied to Captain Powerhouse's topic in Open Beta Testing
Hi! Sorry to derail this topic off of emotional discourse about a power that can be replaced with inspirations, but what's all this about a Revamp? CPT Powerhouse, did you mean a revamp of Rune, a revamp of Sorcery, a revamp of all Origin Pools, or.. something else, like a revamp of Super Strength? -
*coughs* ... ... MOAR. Please?
-
This was not my question, but you did answer it, thanks.

Counterargument: in reality, there is no such vacuum. People optimizing builds have set bonuses, Tough, and sometimes Epic/Patron armors. It should be reasonable to assume that players who are well educated enough to make a decision on the value of incorporating Rune into their build for survivability have to some degree increased their resistances somewhere from 10-30% from the aforementioned sources. My specific example: I have only one character with Rune, a Rad/Rad defender. When I pop Rune, I generally do it for the resists because I am taking a lot of damage, and this puts me at or near caps across the board. Caveat to the above: I don't care what happens with the rune changes. I don't keep my character in harms way long enough for a difference of 30 seconds of uptime to matter. I understand I may be in the minority on how I play with Rune.

To be clear, one of each of the following is okay? Panacea +HP/End Miracle +Recovery Performance Shift Proc Just doing a quick check here, since I had already planned an all Basic IO build before you laid out the rules. No SOs, but also no Set IOs. So I'm in the middle of a rework. Being able to slot these alone should make endurance management a lot less painful; but I don't think it will be non-trivial. At least for my character.

I made a thing.... (and of course I'm noticing the typos now..)
