  1. Tested , level 30 toon with level 30 (grey) enhancements. After clicking "upgrade", nothing happened. After exiting the enhancement screen, received a mapserver error. This happened three times.
  2. Chernobog? I think you can face him even earlier... ISTR facing him before outleveling the rest of KR.
  3. That's what Jimmy said in a different post - you have to zone to be rid of the little pest. (Well, he didn't actually phrase it quite that way.)
  4. The T3 (Galvanic Sentinel) for defenders and controllers provides a pet that casts a weak(er) version of Discharge (MM T3) and can be used to jumpstart a chain. I fiddled with a EA/Bots on beta, and it was pretty fun and worked well (at least at the lower difficulties I hang out at). That fast recharge group heal was very helpful. It's a very clicky set though.
  5. o.0 Even non-farmers generally have 50k they can spare, that's down in the "pocket change" range.
  6. Egg-zactly! The "prank" lasts beyond the point where it's funny, and you can't opt out! No, really, you can't. The "dismissal" is short term, and the annoying little bugger keeps popping up.
  7. The problem isn't the joke, it was funny - the first time I logged in and for maybe an hour afterwards while I was getting my "Take your child to work" screenie. The problem is the that the joke not only never ends, you can't opt out. You can't make it stop. Then it stops being funny.
  8. Mama is proud of all of her boys! (And like all family portraits... the kids are never still.)
  9. Because the idea is to reduce the amount of Inf entering the system to keep inflation in check.
  10. A particular channel?
  11. Infested is an apt description of General at this point... filled with twelve year olds with potty mouths. Basically HC's very own 4Chan.
  12. I can't speak to Stephanie Peeble, but David Wincott was removed as part of the Hollows Revamp. The players felt that too many characters were getting "trapped" in the extremely [censored] awful mess that was The Hollows (and missing out on the 6-15?) content in the rest of the game. (The Hollows was the DFB of it's day, everyone ended up there and most bailed as soon as they got a travel power at 14.) In some ways, it was a kind of messed up decision because the Revamp removed the stuff that made the Hollows such a [censored] awful mess.
  13. Only tested on MM's in beta... so was kinda surprised on my newly minted EA 'fender... Does Galvanic Sent not pop up a pet window for not-masterminds?
  14. Admiring all the new electrically themed toons @Jimmy? Or <laughs> grimacing?

  15. Yep. If not an AE (fire) farmer, then a merit farmer who runs the WST and other remunerative TF's repeatedly. (The latter playstyle is often recommended here on the forums.)
  16. I've had an outline for short story running back the days of Live that revolves around just that... Kind of a noir take on a hero getting up in the morning and trying wake up, get coffee, and catch up on all the skullduggery that happened overnight. Just another day in the City.
  17. Some days I want to make a character named "Read the patch notes ya morons" and hang out in the Help channel. And then dual box with a character named "And you idiots should check the forums too".
  18. Quoted for truth. Risk v. Reward. Apex - "the top or highest part of something, especially one forming a point." (ITYM nadir - "the lowest point in the fortunes of a person or organization")
  19. It's been said elsewhere (by a dev) that ever increasing numbers of mobs overload the server (in particular due to the pathing logic that routes the mobs to the player character). That suggests there's a hard upper limit on horde size that can interact with a PC.
  20. It's not completely unnecessary - it's a game balance issue, no different than recharge, animation time, and endurance costs on big attacks for a scrapper or blaster. (And pets, esp Lieutenants and especially Bosses, are unquestionably Big Attacks. And unlike blasters or scrapper - they're persistent big attacks. That's a key difference that it's important to understand the impact of.) Being able to instantly summon fully upgraded pets significantly alters the MM's tactical balance. It cheapens and lessens the need for heals, buffs, and debuffs. Why bother when another pet is just a click away? I could see some kind of "Build Up" type power enabling insta summon and upgrade for a short period, but it would definitely need to be set up so that it was an "Oh Fudge" type power.
  21. Precisely. Which is also exactly why summoning and equipping them during battle is part of the playstyle. You can't claim the uniqueness and the core of the playstyle lies in "controlling and keeping them alive" and claim that "summoning and equipping during battle" isn't part of the playstyle... The two positions are mutually incompatible because the latter is implied by the former. Deciding whether (and when) to re-summon, or to concentrate on the surviving pets, or to use your secondaries, or to run like heck and try again later... (Or to turn down the difficulty level) These are the key tactical decisions every MM must make. It's a very different playstyle, and not one that's for everyone. No offense, but that's a weak argument. Nowhere is it written that all parts of the game will be fun for all people all the time. From my point of view, if you don't like playing MM's because they're hard to play... That's not on the AT. That's a personal choice. If you don't find playing MM's to be fun, then just don't play them.
  22. Before Amazon effed up their recommendations system (and stopped letting you easily mark stuff as "owned"), I had half a dozen Amazon accounts "[email protected]"... Made it really handy for finding stuff in some of my more obscure and specialized interests.
  23. Gmail also allows the "+" sign... [email protected] or [email protected] for example.
