  1. Agreed that Origin Arcs was a cool concept. Its execution was lacking, though. They were functionally all the same sorts of stories, just with different enemy groups. I would love to see/have seen something more distinct done with them, though. For instance, I could see something like the Skull's story arc in King Row being a "natural origin" storyline, and having a corresponding similar storyline exploring different sides of that story (such as a mutant origin arc around the Trolls and their connection to the Superadine side of that story, and a magic origin story tied to the Hellions, etc.). They would all have their own distinct stories, but some of the parts would tie together; you just wouldn't see the entire picture unless you were to run them on different origin characters (or team with others). On a side note, I think that the Graves' missions are some of the worst written in the game. I can't stand to run them, not even for the Mercy Story Arc badge completion (and I am a total badge whore). Most of the stories written by Positron I just find terrible.
  2. How about changing the Terra Volta respec? The radiation mutates your character and allows a power retcon. Just like you'd see in comic books! ☢️🤢🤪
  3. Primal Earth invaded Praetorian Earth first; it was the group Ultimatum that sent its agents to Praetoria and were discovered by Cole. One of them, Maelstrom, defected and joined up with the Praetorians (and fed into Cole's paranoia), while another, Twinshot escaped back to Primal Earth. For some reason, I was under the impression Ultimatum was connected to Malta, but I'm not sure whether that is my own assumption or something that was actually mentioned (in-game or in the forums) at some point. Also, there are other cities/settlements outside of the "main" Praetorian areas that are not yet conquered by Praetorian Hamidon. I know that New Tokyo gets name-dropped in one of the Praetorian arcs. I think one or more also get mentioned by name, but the concept of other places outside of Praetoria proper is mentioned also.
  4. I just finished the "All in the Family" mission from Mr. G, and had to fight Crimson Revenant. When I last played the arc, on test (pre-sunset), CR actually allied with my character against the family, rather than fight him. I thought it was because I had the CR badge (Hammer Down), but I also have that on the toon I just played with. The only difference I can think of between the two is that I was only able to complete the "Taming the Tigress" story arc on CR with this toon before outleveling his missions, whereas on my pre-sunset toon I had played through all of CRs missions. I'm pretty sure both toons were Rogues (although it is possible my pre-sunset toon was a Villain at the time). I may also have started Mr. G's arc on the current toon before getting Hammer Down, although I definitely had the badge prior to starting the "All in the Family" mission. Anyone else run through this and/or have some thoughts on what might have triggered CR as an ally vs. an enemy? Paragonwiki was never updated to include CR as an ally, so it has no information to provide to me.
  5. I don't know if it is the same mission as the OP's or not, but Jezebel Jones' first mission "Investigate the Disappearances" in the Missing Maidens story arc is having the same issue for me. The mission door is displaying as underground somewhere just south of the "Family Raid" event, and I am having trouble locating it. I will use the tips on rooftop entrances and building doors to see if I can access it (or, failing that, the mission teleporter). Thanks, guys!
  6. I was kind of wondering the same as both of you. Chance and Ace could also be sort of related terminology, as a reference to games (Ace of Cards, Chances of winning). Ace is much cockier and more of a jerk than Chance, but again, that could just be differences between the two Earths.
  7. By my count, there are at least 4 McKnights in-game: Ashley; her father, Alistair; Ace; and Chance. Is Ace related to Alistair and Ashley? Is Chance a Praetorian version of Ace, or maybe a Praetorian version of a Primal brother that isn't currently in-game? Did one of the developers really just like the last name?
  8. Interesting set of powers for this. Something that I think would be great is if you could add some kind of "Momentum" ability to this, where the player would build up their own Kinetic Manipulation ability. Something akin to Tidal Power, but triggered by physical attacks against the player (probably needs a name other than Momentum to not confuse it with Titan Weapons).
  9. I'd like the Resistance/Loyalist storylines to be continued in First Ward/Night Ward, myself. Not sure how/if that would be possible to do with the way the system is set up. Writing new missions and morality missions is one thing, but I don't know if the current Level 20 Cole choice cap is too hardcoded in to accommodate expanded mission options. (And I'm still waiting/hoping we can get an invention hub in those locations; abandoned university/lab for First Ward, and magic lab for Night Ward would be great!)
  10. Would it be less disturbing if it were Future Penelope Yin of Praetoria?
  11. What if they are timed and you have to split your team across multiple zones in order to complete them within the time limit? "We've to stop stop the Clockwork in King's Row, Malta in Peregrine Island, and Council in Steel Canyon? All at the same time???"
  12. Ventriloquism: Make speech bubble appear to come from target.
  13. Good point, and as a generally non-PvPer myself, I really can't speak too much to that aspect of it otherwise. That said, I do wonder if having objective-based missions as HelenCarnate mentioned might help to alleviate some of the concerns about the PvP aspect enough to get people to play through it more than once. Maybe give points for objectives, or somesuch, rather than just have each team fight to the last man standing.
  14. On a related note, when I popped the Tsoo gladiator badge a second ago, I got to thinking: could there be a way to combine the Gladiator matches with Mayhem missions such that a villain can create his own team of thugs to carry off nefarious deeds (robbing banks, etc.)? Call it a Crimewave Mission or something.
  15. Kind of an off the wall suggestion, maybe, and possibly not something that can be done, but... What about creating some sort of "Mass Mayhem" Trial/Taskforce thingamajig. Basically, it would be a Mayhem/Safeguard PVP combined mission, where both heroes and villains can join via Leagues, and compete against one another. Villains would be trying to rob the bank, free prisoners, blow things up, destroy things, and the heroes would have to stop them.
  16. Ah, okay. I don't recall seeing them in Dark Astoria, but maybe I just didn't realize it.
  17. That could be. Might have been an i24 thing. I played a lot of the new content on the test server for i24, but didn't replay older content.
  18. On a mission for Unai Kemen today I encountered some foes I don't recall seeing pre-Homecoming: female Banished Pantheon. There are some shamaness characters that are new to me. This is pretty cool (and a much needed expansion for some of these villain groups that are still very male-only). Is this something the devs have cooked up, or was this in pre-sunset CoH and I never noticed?
  19. That's a pretty good idea. Thinking about how Mayhem/Safeguard Missions work, the first one comes at 5th level I think? Then 10, 15, 20. So even though Praetoria ends at 20 (typically), the format would still work pretty well: Level 5-10: Nova Praetoria Level 11-15: Imperial City Level 15-20: Neutropolis Resistance Missions could take place in the underground, and Loyalist Missions could take place above ground, or else you might just get a random assignment of an underground or aboveground mission. You could then also add some of these with First Ward and Night Ward as well. 21-25: First Ward 26-30: First Ward 31-35: Night Ward
  20. ... what would they look like? I could see Resistance-Style Mayhem Mission raids on Praetorian targets and Loyalist Safeguard-Style Missions to combat the same, and that probably wouldn't be too difficult to implement. It does feel a little too cut/paste, though. Could some undercover style antics be added to these sorts of missions to try and emulate the undercover/double agent antics of the main quests? (These could come via the same in-mission extra quests with the regular missions. IE, you can free the bad guy in the prison, or you can interfere with the Resistance efforts to free them, etc.)
  21. I've long been a proponent of adding crafting tables to First Ward, so I'm all in on that. Some of these other locations seem appropriate, too.
  22. Sorry for the dumb question, but I am a formerly tech-savvy, now increasingly tech-dumb person so: What does the 64 bit client mean for the layman? Will the change from 32 bit have noticeable effects for me? Will it impact performance and/or cause any more/less stress on my hardware (which is a little out of date, tbh)?
  23. Maybe Warrior Earth is really the same world these folk call home...
  24. I think the whole point was primarily to indicate that it took place post-all of the then current Praetorian content (Going Rogue, the Praetorian Incarnate trials, First Ward, Night Ward). This because the storyline and pretty much all of the characters involved were also integral (or at least present) to one degree or another during those arcs. As Jimmy points out, this probably could have been made a little more explicitly clear, particularly given that- while most of the player base at that point would have known what that meant, and how it fell into the release schedule, it isn't quite as evident to those who come into the game at a later point in time (or years later, like some now). This gets even a little more confusing with the Mr. G story arc that deals with many of the same things (post-Praetorian content), but also adds in a lot of villain specific contacts that are part of/reference villain story arcs from across the entire spectrum of CoV content. Mr. G's arc is probably my favorite of all, but it does make the timeline seem a little wonky (especially since parts of it change depending on whether you ran certain CoV arcs prior to running Mr. G's.)
  25. +1 Considering how often the Council gets wiped by 5th Column, it's a wonder how the Center ever managed to overthrow them in the first place (though I suppose he had some help with that...) It would be great to at least adjust the odds so that there is a more even chance of Council coming out ahead, or just leave solo groups of Council, as suggested. (Plus it would be nice to have some defeat badges for 5th, but that's a separate suggestion.)
