  1. What do you mean, "you people?"
  2. Just a reminder that this will be in thirteen hours, y'all!
  3. Because outside of things like Master of TFs/SFs, the Lady Grey TF, or Hamidon raids, you don't need one of anything. Seeing someone forming something state that they need a tank or healer most likely indicates that either the team lead is inexperienced (as EmmySky pointed out), or is just plain bad.
  4. Yep. I am happy to have whatever on my team and play with whatever. But if I see someone forming something in LFG and they say, "Need a tank!" Or "Need a healer!" that's a very large warning sign.

    Herding MSR

I've already tested it twice, once on Pineapple before it went live and after it reached the regular servers. I've run two or three instanced MSRs every week since October 1st. The "lack of inclusivity" doesn't bother me because I've always restricted my MSRs to level 35+ since 2009. :P As far as the Incarnate Raid load-in jumble... actually, that hasn't been a problem. I don't know if the issue has been fixed only for instanced MSRs, or if it's because of the way I form them, but the teams are intact once inside the instance. The order of the people inside the team is jumbled, but not the teams themselves. In case it matters, the way I form them is: I keep my own team low at first, three to five people. Then when someone joins, I invite them directly to my team, not to the league. Once they join, I shuffle them off to the appropriate league team. I only fill my team up towards the end. If a team is unbalanced, then I just shuffle people around before queuing. Like I said, I don't know if it's been fixed only for instanced MSRs, or if it's the way I form them, or a combination of both, but I have not experienced any league jumbling.

    Herding MSR

It depends on what you pull into the bowl. If there's only one person with AoE mez protection, and you have a bunch of squishy Blasters in the bowl, and you pull a bunch of Chief Mesmorists/Mentalists/Rikti Magi into the bowl, wiping is a possibility, even if everyone is level 40+. A third of my raid Saturday wiped exactly due to this. Also, while good advice in regards to herding and pulling all the way to the bowl, the not receiving Vanguard merits if you're too far away only applies to the zone MSR. In the instanced MSR, you can be a half mile away from everyone else in the league and still receive Vanguard merits.
  7. A Very Rikti Christmas 2019 When: Thursday, December 19th, 2019 Time: 8:30 P.M. ET/5:30 P.M. PT Where: Pocket D Hello, Excelsior. Christmas is coming. What is a better way to celebrate the holidays than to smash Rikti with loved ones? Everyone will gather in Pocket D on Thursday, December 19th, at 8:30 P.M. ET / 5:30 P.M. PT. We will then proceed to raid the Rikti mothership. All level 35+ characters with the Member of Vanguard badge are welcome. However, I request that you wear a winter holiday themed costume. Whomever gets the kill shot on U'Kon Gr'ai will win an one billion INF prize. I hope to see y'all there!
  8. Out of curiosity, what OS are you using?
  9. From personal experience of running and admining several on-line forums over the years, political and religious discussions are a scourge if the forum has otherwise no relation to either subject. It just sucks in everyone and everything like a black hole, if left unchecked. So it's certainly understandable.
  10. It's definitely possible. I prefer macros to keybinds, and used a Mastermind to lead Rikti mothership raids. Between general Mastermind stuff and MSRs, that toon has about 40 macros alone.
  11. To be frank, the onerous is on the people still using Pine's, despite Mids' Reborn being heavily advertised on these forums and on the Homecoming Discord.
  12. The Mids' code is extremely tied to Windows and is inseparable from it. There are at least two different web and mobile CoH planners in development, but I've heard nothing about either in a while.
  13. As far as I am concerned, the zone Rikti mothership raid died on September 30th, 2019. I haven't done one since. The instanced Rikti mothership raid is better in almost every way. Between 2009 and 2012, and now in 2019, I've run at least several hundred Rikti mothership raids. The level requirement for the instanced version doesn't bother me because I always restricted my MSRs to level 35+ in the first place. The Member of Vanguard badge requirement is a little bit of a burden, but a friend of mine and I check the badges of everyone that comes. Thankfully, it's relatively easy to spot. If someone doesn't have the Member of Vanguard badge, I just send the person a polite request to go to the RWZ and run Levantera's first two missions. It only takes five minutes. The truth of the matter is that the instanced Rikti mothership raid is more difficult to recruit for than the zone MSR. I've never had a full Rikti mothership raid league since switching to the instanced version, and occasionally can't even get enough people to start. I've encountered a lot of pushback from various people over the past month and a half for trying to run it. I've been told that I am the only person that runs instanced MSRs on all of Homecoming. People are frightened by change. But I run one every Thursday night on the Excelsior server, and I run one or two impromptu instanced MSRs on Excelsior server on the weekends to try to expose more people to it. People are starting to see the benefits of it. I've been told by multiple people over the past couple of weeks that the instanced MSR is the best way to run a Rikti mothership raid. I wholeheartedly agree.
  14. I run two to three instanced MSRs every week. The instanced MSR is already a little more challenging because every NPC (including the Pylons), is level 54. Making it Incarnate would lock out everyone level 35 - 49, even though they can get Vanguard merits.
  15. It means a Defender that is heavy on attacks. It was primarily used before there were Corruptors.
  16. Just a reminder that this will be in eight hours, y'all!
  17. My first character on Homecoming is a Thugs/Sonic MM. He's long been level 50+3 and all tricked out. It's a fun combination. Like @Tigress pointed out, the lack of a heal is the one (very) noticeable hole. However, if you plan on only playing level 45+ content, you can plug that hole with the Rebirth Radial Destiny.
  18. I would also advise you to join the Excelsior and Excelsior Badges global channels. People call out various task forces/strike forces/trials/raids there. /chan_join Excelsior /chan_join Excelsior Badges
  19. If you play on Excelsior, i recommend: /chan_join Excelsior /chan_join Excelsior Badges Welcome to the Rogue Isles! Yes, unfortunately, most people prefer the bland zones and story lines of blue side compared to the better writing and better zones of red side. I second VileTerror's suggestion of using Null the Gull in Pocket D to switch to the Rogue alignment. That will let villain side remain your home, but allow you to enter blue side and team up with those goody two shoes should you have trouble finding a team red side.
  20. Is CoH on your SSD drive, or on your external hard drive?
  21. Nope. There's Babbage, Council Goliath War Walker, and a bunch of door missions. About it. Boomtown is so boring and depressing that even one of its GMs frequently leaves for Skyway City. I feel bad for him really. Babbage isn't trying to hurt us... he's just so overly excited about actually seeing people after being trapped in Boomtown for fifteen years.
  22. I played a blue side Radiation Melee/Radiation Armor Brute from late June through early August, (I level up one character at a time almost completely solo from level 1 to 50). I swear (okie, this is probably an exaggeration, but it felt like), almost every third mission I had from level 15 onwards sent me to freaking Boomtown. I became intimately familiar with the zone's nooks and crannies. I think that's what helped drive me back to red side...
  23. @Solarverse , my apologies. I wasn't referring to anything in particular. Not you, nor this suggestion, (although I mostly disagree with it). It was a general statement.
  24. I blame modern video games for spoiling people, especially freemium games.
  25. KR, Faultline, Talos Island, FF, Port Oakes, Sharkhead Isle, and St. Martial.
