  1. (Thanks for the shout-out @Glacier Peak!) Here's a couple twitch streams I've been enjoying. Both are pretty min/max orientated... @BlackHearted is one of Everlasting's raid leaders. Their channel is regular with streams of hardcore PvE stuff like Hami Raids, ITrials, Speed TFs, etc. Can check their channel out, here: @CR Banana Man is one of the PvP community reps. His channel has some interesting videos on PvP and farming. He's got a few videos where he does "POV Reviews" of videos other PvPers have sent him. (I.e. He watches other people play, and then critiques what they should have been doing differently.) Fascinating stuff from one of the most knowledgeable PvPers in the game.   2. I would advise against changes to the game that can be solved with a tutorial. Regen is fine. If players don't like the reactive nature of it, they can play Willpower. That said, if you're looking to tweak things, then I suggest: Adding [more/some] -recovery, -end, -recharge, and -regen resist. Have the heals activate at the start of the animation. Cut the MoG animation in half. Have the MoG Animation Time Before Effect the same duration as the Animation Time. Have MoG and Resilience give resist to all. I get that minor tweaks aren't sexy/exciting to dream up and implement. But there's no real need for anything beyond this. The only power it's safe to really play with is Revive. Maybe doing something like giving it a 0s recharge, removing the 15s untouchable, and having it restore lost toggles, and have it remove a deaths-worth of XP debt could be the way to go? It would suit, thematically. (Revive is a big part of Wolverine's HPS chain.) And I like the idea that regen does not experience death the same way the other armor sets do. It would reward the "knife's edge" playstyle by making death less of a burden.

And that was doing everything flawlessly. I've not seen anyone break 30s, yet. Although, legend has it of a race man from Indomitable who has broken into the 20s...

Reasons for movement: The rankings change was due to a Beginner's Fightclub event we ran on Everlasting this past weekend. We usually do a beginner's event once a month as a chance for new players who aren't familiar with Fightclub PVP to jump in and try it out. Experienced players always show up, too. And we do our best to pair up beginners with other beginners, and experienced players with other experienced players. This week we had 6 of each show up, so we ran two separate brackets. Newcomer magecow demolished everyone he came up against. Definitely one to watch!   7. I'm not talking about Pylon tests. It's mathematically impossible for a solo blaster to hit 900+DPS without red insps. That works out at ~590 DPS
  8. When people talk about doing 900DPS on a blaster they mean with red inspirations putting them at the damage cap.
  9. 500DPS can solo a GM. A good blaster will be in the 750-900 DPS range.

  11. Y'all should send out an email blast about this to every account. This is legit huge news that could bring back a lot of lapsed players.
  12. Most of the people who chain inspirations from their emails tends to be speedrunners. And the last event they ran had ~10-20 people taking part. So, I don't think it contributes in any significant way to any problems in the game right now. And a "fix" to it (making inspirations unclaimable if you're in/have been in combat) would negatively impact regular players who email themselves rez insps for when they die, or purple insps for when they're fighting bosses. It's important to remember when talking about game balance, the focus will always be playing 1-50 on SOs. Level 50 fully IO'd/Incarnated/Inspiration-chugging players roflstomping +5/8 council missions, or clearing a fire farm map in 180s, or killing Hamidon in 30s, aren't really a balance concern. They're certainly not a problem that impacts the majority of players. (I.e. those who play 1-50 on SOs.) Look at this thread for example. Rune was changed due to how it was played at 1-50 on SOs. Whether it was still chainable with hybrid for mez protection at level 50 wasn't really a factor in rebalancing it. The majority of the game isn't balanced around IOs/Incarnates/Inspirations, because those things don't have much of an impact on the majority of players. So, by definition any major problems to the game can't be due to these things. That said, if the game was balanced around level 50 play with all the toys, then I'd probably agree that nerfing purple inspirations, red inspirations, judgement, lore, destiny's 10s/30s/90s buff, and Burn would be good for game balance (Why build for defense when I can buy a 50% def IO for 1 million?) Only exception here would be procs. Procs are fine as they are, and only seem otherwise because players can easilly use red inspirations to put themselves at the damage cap. (Take away red insps, and procs are a well-balanced trade-off in builds.) Specifically: ST damage procs are fine, ST -res procs are fine, +end +heal +regen +recovery procs are fine, debuff procs are fine (we need more, if anything), FF procs are probably fine, Gaussian procs are fine outside of Build Up/Aim powers, AoE damage/debuff procs are mosty fine outside of a select few AoE powers like Burn/the rad armour heal, self-buffing/ATO procs triggering in AoE powers might need looking at (but that's case-by-case), and the tanker +absorb proc needs making mutually-exclusive with Superior Entomb's absorb proc.

Fightclub is melee vs melee PVP where moving/retreating is not allowed. It's the most min/max thing you can do in City of Heroes, and is something only the best melee players stand any chance of surviving...let alone winning! Each event lasts for four 15-minute rounds.   15. This is a really good idea, actually. You could even remake the existing taskforces (Positron, Synapse, Manticore, etc), populate them with "Reflections" of the original enemy groups, and make them absurdly hard level 50 TFs. You could even be a bit cheeky with it, story wise. You are travelling through Rularuu's memories of when he first arrived, and the old taskforces seemed to be more difficult...

You can balance CoH either of the following ways: Option 1 = All IOs, Incarnates, Inspirations, P2W buffs, base buffs Option 2 = SOs Vast majority of the content in the game is balanced around Option 2. Some rare endgame stuff (trials, hami) is based on Option 1. The game needs more endgame content balanced around Option 1. The game does not need existing endgame content changed to be balanced around Option 1. Option 1 cannot be limited. ("We'll balance around IOs, but not P2W buffs or incarnates", etc). It has to be all or nothing, because that is how the game is played. Golden rule of game balance: balance the game as it is played, not as you wish it was played.

  19. Stealth was buffed after they removed invisibility. Because of this, Stealth + Superspeed now puts you at the stealth cap. This is actually a buff for powerlevelling, because you can have both of these powers by level 4.

  23. I like this idea. We should be pushing for more inclusivity, always. Especially in escapist online games like MMORPGs. This isn't about being "woke" or self-congratulating ala Rian Johnson. It's about creating an environment where everyone feels like they belong, and no-one feels secondary.
