That is exactly BACKWARDS. All sales on the auction house go to the current HIGHEST bidder.

I thought that time was off by an hour so I checked to be sure. Per the donation and finances FAQ post https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/14674-donations-finances-faq/ the donation window typically starts at 19:00 UTC. That is actually 3PM in the Eastern time zone, noon Pacific time. Of course, this will shift in November.

Why do I never see Rest or the Prestige Sprints as mules?
Ironblade replied to Menelruin's topic in General Discussion
Fascinating. I do the exact opposite. On any character that is getting a stealth IO, I put it into one of the prestige sprints rather than regular sprint. And my reason is . . . Every character has a default keybind to control the sprint power so it doesn't take up space in my trays. I only have a handful of characters using a stealth IO so they have a prestige sprint in the tray since they're the exceptions. -
Characters where you took the WHOLE Primary and Secondary
Ironblade replied to Heraclea's topic in General Discussion
Not a single one. I have MANY characters where I took 9 powers from the primary *OR* 9 from the secondary, but not a single one that took all nine from both. -
Actually, it makes perfect sense. By adopting an upright position with bipedal locomotion, we freed up our forelimbs from being used in movement. This allowed them to specialize for fine manipulation and to engage in tool use while moving - hunting, for example.

Well, the damage cap is high enough that 8 Assault toggles won't reach it. I don't believe there is a hard cap on defense or to-hit - just anything beyond a certain point is wasted.
-
Yep. And I believe a tomato is technically a berry.
-
Not only does Maneuvers (and all the leadership toggles) stack, the team toggles that Arachnos Soldiers get also stack. So they can have those toggles PLUS the Leadership toggles. It's possible to stack Vengeance, but not reliably. You need to be on voice chat to synchronize and be accurate enough to land both between 'server ticks'.

Nope. And I know you've been around long enough to know why, but I'll explain for anyone who doesn't know how this works. The SG bases are instanced maps, just like a mission map. As such, they are effectively a different world - there is no measurable distance from the zone you left to the interior of the base. However, map features like City Hall, stores, the arena are actually on the same map but hidden far below ground level. This is why you can target a teammate who is in a store - they're somewhere on the same map. This is also why you can access the auction house from City Hall or a store but NOT from a supergroup base or a mission map.

I mostly agree on all of these points. One of my friends told me that her best memory from CoH was when she was on a Synapse TF. They were in the mission right before Babbage shows up and she sent me a tell asking if I could come help with Babbage. I gathered the people in the SG and, when the team exited the mission, there were seven of us from the SG, in uniform, waiting outside the door. I don't think it's a big deal if the SG is THEMED. Some are and work well, some are not also work well. I agree the SG's being character based is an issue (and always has been). Back when the game was live, my SG was big enough that I had to limit how many characters people could have in the main SG. We had two coalition SG's that I ran for additional characters. Overall, I think there is definitely a point to SG's. Originally, there were THREE reasons (in my opinion) that they were useful: 1. As a social organization. 2. As a transport hub. 3. As a storage location. Item 2 no longer matters with the base passcode function but the other two reasons are as valid as ever.

You make it sound like the term originated in CoH. The term DPS predates this game. On a side note, the term DD (for Damage Dealer) was also used in the past and is commonly used in some regions.

Rescheduled to Saturday afternoon.

In my opinion, no. The only uniques in my build (not counting purples, which are all uniques) are the Kismet +acc and the +def uniques. Since my primary is broadsword (the slowest scrapper primary), I don't like missing or waiting. My build has +57% global accuracy and +60% global recharge. This is not counting the incarnate Alpha slot, where I took Spiritual, putting my click self-heals at over 125% heal and recharge. I also have Tactics (I said I don't like to miss) and Focused Accuracy (which I only turn on when I really need it, like in PvP zones). To handle the recharge, I also have some +recovery (just 34%). To be fair, though, I didn't really build for that. A lot of sets have it as the first bonus.

No. Just no. Challenging for one player is impossible for another. Consider the parody video of Hitler complaining that they made Champions too hard. "I should be able to face-roll my keyboard and still f***ing win!" The option to succeed by face-rolling needs to be in the game. Some people have feeble computers. Some people have physical disabilities that make them less effective than YOU at playing this game. Just because you don't find the game 'challenging' doesn't mean we need to screw over a percentage of the player base. A reasonable request would be: "We should be able to turn our difficulty setting up past +4."

Back on live, someone made a Mini Ironblade who was about 3' tall. Also, I made a parody of someone, replacing a key part of their name with the word Noobsauce and copying their color scheme. Of course, both of these people were in my SG so this wasn't actually stalking.

I am reminded of the conversation on the old forums where someone made a comment about purple sets and Back Alley Brawler responded with, "Did you just say 'casual player' and 'purple out my warshade' in the same sentence?" Just how many purple sets do you need? Are you trying to fine-tune your favorite character or trying to purple out every character you get to 50? i.e. Are you trying to spiff up your car, or own a garage full of sports cars?
-
No. The term was widely used on Infinity, which was the 2nd or 3rd largest server at varying times.

"Bobcat hits you with their Eviscerate for 2855.76 points of Lethal damage. " Odd phrasing there. I understand the use of 'their' to be gender neutral, but why is it there at all? "Bobcat hits you with Eviscerate for 2855.76 points of Lethal damage. " This version is entirely correct and has proper grammar.

Ironblade - broadsword/regen scrapper - My very first character and my favorite. Back on live, I estimated he got as much play time as all other characters combined. Nowadays, that's no longer true since I have so many other characters to recreate. Lifeshadow - empathy/dark blast defender - Aside from what empathy brings, most dark powers debuff enemy to hit and improve team survivability. Add the team-focused powers from Stealth, Leadership and Teleport pools and he's super useful. Dr Dolomite - stone/stone tank Chromatic Cat - invuln/dark melee tank Taiga Tigress - willpower/ice melee tank - What? I like tanks.

This is your recovery from your original nonsensical statement? I find farming tedious. My girlfriend finds it genuinely entertaining. Open your mind.
-
Basically, neither. I will run a farm map maybe 5-10 times in a MONTH, purely for variety. The rewards are nice, the actual farming is kind of tedious, but it's DIFFERENT. Like when I'll spend a couple hours doing exploration badges in multiple zones.
-
I can sympathize about the burnout. Back when the game was live, I ran a coalition of 3 SG's and was an officer in 5 others. I ran events for my SG's during the week and TFs/trials on the weekends with open sign-up on the forums. I ran overnight gladiator heal farms. I worked with people to farm the PvP badges. After the game shut down and I moved to other games, I didn't even JOIN any guilds, let alone run one. So, when you say "call it quits", I hope you are only referring to the nightly grind and aren't thinking about leaving the game entirely. I (and clearly many others) would hate to you see you go. Maybe you could (glances around furtively) become a . . . casual player. 😮

Request for Data Analyses regarding Bases
Ironblade replied to ArchVileTerror's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, a big chunk of the file looks like this "H²?z_g\qú;0üòi»±/~“µØž±g|,÷xnß" Then each item has an entry, like: 0 1 NEW "Dimensional Anchor" 0 1 NPC v_base_object 0 1 DYNLIB base_anchor_arcane_w_N_P 0 1 POS 160 17 256 0 1 PYR 0 1.583068 0 0 1 MOV READY 0 0 1 HP 8032.00 0 1 HPMAX 8032.00 -
Request for Data Analyses regarding Bases
Ironblade replied to ArchVileTerror's topic in General Discussion
I've previously mentioned bulletin boards (along with MANY other people). As for souvenirs, I think it would really cool if we could get a display on our own computers of all of our souvenirs like we have for our badges. Of course, someone would have to create artwork for all the mission souvenirs. On the other hand, storage requirements would be trivial since it already stores souvenir names and text. It would just need to add an ID to reference artwork. -
Request for Data Analyses regarding Bases
Ironblade replied to ArchVileTerror's topic in General Discussion
Yep. Before shutdown, I took demorecords of all of my (five) bases and all the other (21) bases that I had access to. The largest file is 178KB.
